Hey, I think I probably am a type 2. Thanks for your video. But I feel unhappy with this realization. Having my self worth determined - wanting to feel wanted and seen as worthy - by other people is not something I would want. But it does seem to be part of my nature. I know this is not a full science but it did resonate very much with me. Such as a subtle sense of pride, inability to ask for help, exploding with resentment when feeling unappreciated. In stories/games I always love 'selfish'/anti-hero characters. Characters that strive mainly for themselves or their greater goal. Which seems like the reverse of the type 2.

Social Two here! I can't believe how long I suppressed my own individual opinions and needs, since I subconsciously believed I would become everyone's favorite person by sacrificing that. Ever since I learned how important it was to value my opinions, I could tolerate other peoples' contrary takes so much better. To cast away my pride for humility was the best thing to ever happen to me!

Any type 2's reading this I love you all and hope you are surrounded by people who love and want the best for you (not those who abuse it!). You shouldn't have to earn love, you are enough. You give so much and you deserve to have people who appreciate you and want to give the same in return❤- 9w1 P.S. Amazed at your ability to explain things clearly so we can understand and suppport other ennergram types. I can't believe you do not have WAY more views and subscribers. You must work so hard with the quality of your videos (from camera work to pacing to structure...) and you should be proud of yourself. Just a note for any of you who resonate with this video in the sexual pleasure department... that can def change through daily self-love practices. I'm an INFJ enneagram 2w1 sp instinctual type. I thought that I was an enneagram 9, 4, 6, 7, 5, 1 and pick up on those traits especially dealing with stress, surviving childhood abuse, bullying, poverty, neglect, betrayal, and abandonment. I'm in therapy now trying to process and heal from severe trauma. My mother was severely mentally ill and had a personality disorder. All I ever wanted was to be born into a loving and stable home and to have unconditional love, nuturing, kindness, and acceptance.

Sorry to hear about your painful journey. I would say, however, that if you thought you were seven different enneagram types, that points directly to the type 9's experience and so does your last sentence. Probably worth reconsidering if you are indeed a 9 (sounds like you just wanted a peaceful existence and you have a hard time "knowing" yourself = 9ness).

@@YouveGotaType Thank you so much for your honest analysis. @@YouveGotaType you are definitely right. With the 3 brains intelligence center test my gut center was scored the very lowest meaning that I barely use it and don't always look after my body the way that I should or look at red flags right away during bad or toxic situations. I use my emotional nature alot and go into analysis paralysis over worrying or over thinking things. I definitely need to be more grounded, centered, and take things slowly being more mindful. Meditation helps alot so far.

Hi!! I love the 5 videos that I have watched so far!! You are extremely engaging and very easy to listen to and understand! I hate to leave something here that sounds like criticism (especially since you are a 1😅). My own personal disclaimer is that I have literally only read the subtype for the sp 2, I have no idea what the other two look like on a deeper level. I also understand that you are packing A TON of useful information into a pretty short span of time and obviously cannot cover the entirety of the subtype. So, disclaimer(s?) aside, I am 99% positive that I am a sp 2 and I did not resonate with almost any of what you said. I thought sp 2s main "thing" was a child-like nature that they present to the world to get their needs met. They do not like to ask for help, so this child-like appearance makes people want to go out of their way to help them because people love helping children. It's another cringy-2-charming-thing. Also, because of the charming nature of their personalities, I thought all 3 of the subtypes would go out of their way to appear physically appealing as well. Not trying to be critical! Just wanted to share my thoughts and am curious to hear yours when/if you get time😊 These videos really are great and I appreciate you making them! I am being a slightly unhealthy 2 and have been "typing" my closest friends/family and then messaging their coordinating videos to them 😂😂 Don't worry, I am also telling them to ignore my opinion and look into the other videos to get a better scope of what they think they are (even though I am almost positive that I am right 😇). Sorry for rambling, thanks again! Looking forward to watching the rest of your content!!

I'd like to add, I didn't resonate *specifically* with what you said about the sp subtype. Everything else was pretty cringy and accurate feeling 😂
@YouveGotaType
@YouveGotaType 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for sharing! I would dive deeper into the instincts if you're unsure/unclear about how this resonates with you. Much of this is aggregated from the teachings of far more experienced enneagram professionals than I, so my disclaimer is that I did not craft these statements without a full array of insight spanning several decades of research. I would also avoid certain personality databases and stick to people like Riso & Hudson of the enneagram institute. The online forums and most websites are completely misleading (not sure if that's where you're grabbing some of that info). But alas, these are very broad theories with lots of room for interpretation! Definitely worth a deeper dive into the subject at some point (instincts that is).
@hollywuerth5468
@hollywuerth5468 7 месяцев назад
@YouveGotaType Suzanne Stabile is the person who I get almost all of my enneagram insight from, but she doesn't like talking about the subtypes! That makes this so difficult haha I do have to do a lot more research when it comes to that specific topic. My therapist "typed" me about 2 years ago now and I've been listing to/reading a bunch of stuff and then taking breaks because it is A LOT, but she found an article (I think by Beatrice chestnut?) that talked in depth about the sp subtype for 2. The childlike thing is specifically something that I resonated with and have never seen anyone ever talk about before/share that feeling so maybe it's just me personally that only picked that part out of the subtype and didn't pay attention to the rest like I should have. I will have to dive a little deeper into the topic with one of the names that you mentioned. I bought "the wisdom of the enneagram" but have not read through it yet. Hopefully there will be something enlightening in there about the subtypes, especially after seeing how much emphasis is being put on them in your videos. I feel like it's a huge reason I have a hard-ish time connecting with being a 2, because according to that article I am the "counter type". Who knows, thanks for answering!

Both interesting guesses on Mother Teresa and Ted Lasso. I can see where you're coming from on Ted as a 9, but they just don't bring that kind of intensely upbeat, cheerleader kind of energy. I know a 9 that hosts improv comedy shows and has similar Ted Lasso vibes, 9s struggle with wanting to disappear from their environment, not inject it with as much "positive belief" as possible. Ted has no off switch, and that's more like the energy of a 2 as 9s are withdrawn types at their core. I could see the 9w8 more than a 9w1, but his "Believe" sign would be seem more 1ish and 9w1s are soooooo much more internal/introspective by nature. Also, 2s and 5s pair up all the time, and Coach Beard is a 5 so that duo makes perfect sense to me. Fun conversation! And the only people who drop debates in the comments like this and cite sources are 5s. I'd tack on a 6 wing just because you were willing to look at both sides of the argument haha. That your type?

Why is a type 6 disintegration a type 3 and integration a type 9 but type 2 disintegration is an 8, and integration a 4? This seems so convoluted. Why does a one move down the enneagram for disintegration while one moves UP. it seems like a whole lot to memorize.

Just worry about memorizing your type - and not everyone else's - and it'll be easy enough ;)

Why do you think Spider-Man is a 2?

Do you think he isn't? ;)

@@YouveGotaType When he first got his powers, he let his avarice guide him into putting on a costume to win money by winning fights. After winning some money from a fight, he saw a robber escaping and did nothing to stop him, because he figured it wasn't his business. But that same robber later broke into his home and killed his uncle Ben. That's when he remembered what his uncle had told him, that with great power comes responsibility. From then on, he let a sense of responsibility motivate him to fight crime. Even though being Spider-Man leads some people, such as J. Jonah Jameson, to hate him, he carries on as Spider-Man out of a sense of responsibility, and not out of the desire to win the love of people. Moreover, he was a science nerd before becoming Spider-Man, and that doesn't seem typical of type 2.

@@fduniho Interesting. My choice was based on the newest iteration of spider man played by Tom Holland in which he's very needy for Iron Man's attention is focused on serving the Avengers. As I say in the video, this is just a silly metaphor not to be taken seriously. The enneagram, after all, is about SELF-awarenss, not analyzing fictional characters.

@@YouveGotaType I figured you might be basing it on Tom Holland. I'm basing it on the original Stan Lee/Steve Ditko character. As originally portrayed, Spider-Man, and that other Lee/Ditko character, Dr. Strange, were 5s who start out as selfish jerks but integrate to 8 when they gain powers and meet with some adverse circumstances that get them to shift their priorities. For a 2, you might try the Hulk. Bruce Banner starts out as a hero, getting himself exposed to gamma rays while trying to save Rick Jones from the bomb he is testing. When he becomes the Hulk, he is like a 2 disintegrating to 8, expressing his fury at a world that doesn't love him. In the TV series, David Banner travels around helping people, which could also suggest a 2. I don't remember it in detail, because I watched it when it first aired in the 80s, but the end credit music has a melancholy 4 element, which could be about David Banner integrating to 4 when he isn't unleashing his fury as the Hulk.

@@YouveGotaType yeah it did lmfao. prior to this comment I had just left my chemistry class and took this test right after. I got a 2w3 followed by 7w8 then 3w2. this might say a lot about me copping into that environment. after taking the test multiple times over. my mean test generally looks like 7w8, 5w4, then 1w2. I took this test for my leadership class. this is some pretty cool theory! any thoughts if so?

Usually 2s don't mistype as 7s or 5s, those are pretty polar opposites. So I'd look deeply at the 2 or 6 if you're still unconvinced!
