Excellent as always. It's always nice to hear from someone who has such extensive experience in this area. I would like to know what literature Jack could recommend in the field of base oils and additives. Thank you in advance!

This means that if grup 1 disappears, will thickening polymers take more prominence?

Good point at the last part. You may want to spend more $ on better oil for fuel economy. But you could end up spending more for "better oil" than the fuel you save and emitting more CO2 from manufacturing the "better oil" compared to burning 1-2% extra fuels.

Well, if you get fuel efficiency 1-2% it will completely cover higher carbon footprint of better oil. There are calculators which are proving just that. Carbon footprint of product is nothing within life cycle if better oil can bring better fuel economy/energy efficiency and extended oil drain intervals.

Who proved that CO2 is danger for people? Those who studied the school program know about photosynthesis. As we know that average human produces 18-25 liters of CO2 every day. So maybe its not about CO2 but about something else?
