Really nice video and great instructions. I have a question. If you have a rectangular table, that seats 4, but could seat 6, my question is do you want to hang your table runner off the sides and put your place mats onto the top of your runner? Or make the table runner shorter so the placemats doesn’t cover up your runner?

Hi Jean - It's been 2 years since I last commented on your tutorial for the quilted table runner and I have made several of these in both Thanksgiving and Christmas themes and they turned out great. I'm making more of them this year for a sale at our church and I must admit, they all sold at our sale. Thanks again.

Thank you very much Mary! I appreciate you commenting! This is my go-to runner as it works up quickly and so pretty for any occasion:) Please take care:)

Thanks for this tutorial. I added it to my “Jean T to do “ playlist. Nasty comments usually come from unhappy people. We are all happy with the way you are! Keep the tutorials coming, and don’t change the way you are just to please them. Ignoring them is the best way to handle it.

Jean, you are an amazing teacher. I hadn't even gotten to the end and i was watching and going like 'she explains in simple language and its clear. She repeats the measurements so u dont have to rewind to understand. She skips the self explanatory parts and she even shows us the tricks she used to make it look epic'. Ur a great teacher. Then i hear the end and im like, why do people have to be so nasty. Not everyone is a motivational speaker. But also not everyone can make a good teacher. Even those great orators learnt from teachers who make things simple to understand, great teachers like Jean.. And u should be confident in that. U have found something ur good at and u use it well. Being all over the place is not a bad thing because it helps us ur students to understand. I think such people are only jealous coz they haven't found their own niche. Ignore them. Lots of ❤❤❤💕💕❤❤

Aw Kiki...what lovely thing to read! You made my Sunday! Thank you very much! I suffer from (or enjoy :) A.D.D. and I realize my 'teaching' methods are not for everyone, but I have also learned thru this little RU-vid endeavor that there are many more people than nasty trolls out there! You are one of them! Thanks again! I appreciate that!

I have made several of these over the last 2 years with your video. This IS my favorite table runners to make. I've done them with fancy quilting throughout on them, and one I did with numerous straight lines which looked so cool with the metallic lined material I used on one of them. On one I used several fabrics in one line and cut them into the sizing I would need to go down the whole thing. I LOVED that look using so many fabrics of the same line. Thank you for sharing your gift of teaching and sewing with a friend. Love that you chit chat as you go ;+) They beautify your home and make wonderful gifts.

Don’t acknowledge the creeps, sometimes I think that’s what they want. Delete the comment block and move on. They will give up. They have obviously given up on life and that’s what makes them look for confrontations and think they are bringing some significant meaning to their lives “good or bad”. Thank You ☺️🤠🙏🏻

Dear Jean I am watching this video on the 20Th August 2021, in the midst of another LOCKDOWN in Victoria Australia. I am in the process of making a table runner for each of my 2 daughters and my daughter in law. You have just given me such great ideas of how to make them. My answer to negative, hurtful words is, Into the green garbage bag they go, and, forgive them because they don’t know what they do. Bless you and your beautiful family.

Wonderful Carmen! You are very kind!! I have learned to have VERY large shoulders and let the nasties (which aren't that frequent nowadays) roll right off! It's lovely people like you that keep me going! All the best for the runners:)

Jean, I do not comment often, but I felt moved to tell you this. People who make unkind remarks, are not worth robbing you of even one second of your joy. It is unfortunate that they are not yet evolved as decent, secure human beings. I think of you as if we are both in your wonderful quilting space, with you graciously showing me how to do something that I want to learn how to do. I, like many, many of your followers like and respect you for being exactly like you are naturally. You don't ever have to apologize or put yourself down. You are precious and fun and GENEROUS to allow us to enter your world. I would venture to guess 99% of us, are thrilled to get to do that. Life is short. Don't spend any of your precious time letting any rude and mean spirited goon take that from you. Don't let them "win" by stealing precious minutes. Ruining your day is just what they, in their meaness, want to do....don't let them do that to you. Thank you for all you have shared with us!!!!! You are again, precious.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
Such nice kind words. Thank you for taking time to say them!! I usually get over myself fairly quickly....was just having a pity party this morning!! LOL!! But yes, I truly feel sorry for such miserable folks....how sad to be them! Thanks again for watching me!! :)

Jean, you do a lovely job of demonstrating ...you just have to let the negative people go as quickly as you delete them, I know this is easier said than done, but I have made these table runners before and I still enjoyed watching you. The only thing I did differently was I machine embroidered designs in the center quilted part..turned out really pretty. So just take a deep breath and continue what you're doing, there are way more people that enjoy you than not. Have a great day!!
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
Thank you so much for your kind words! I have kicked the trolls to the curb, yes!! LOL! I am pleasantly learning there are SO many more NICE people than nasties! You are one of them! Thank you again:)

I like you, the haters are gonna hate, delete them and keep smiling! You didn't give that hater a headache, her negativity did! I subscribed and will be watching you more! Sending you love and likes from Australia
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
You are very kind! And yes, battling ADD has been a life time of struggle - trying not to stutter, getting my thoughts tangled and trying to convey them in a sane way....the battle is real!!! :) But I appreciate folks like yourself who have the patience to soldier on thru with me!! :) Thank you!

Also you taught me how to make a small purse for my sister which she absolutely loves and she gets so many compliments on it, thanks to you. I am so happy you make these videos free and help me so I can see how to make them myself. Take care and don't worry about those inconsiderate people, there are more of us that appreciate great people like you when we see them. Take care, Joan

Jean, those of us who watch u get how u teach! We enjoy that you bring us into your sewing room as if we were right there. Please do not let the trolls get to u! They literally spend all they're time being nasty! They go from one video to the next just being nasty. I feel very sorry for them. To have such a miserable existence that u spend time trying to make others miserable is just sad and sick! Please keep up the great videos. I love how this runner is done and i can actually make one. I know i can do this. Put the idiots out to pasture and try and have a good day!

Hi Jean dont worry about people with negative comments I for one love watching your tutorials. And also think that u have a bubbly personality and please dont let the rude people of this world make u feel unhappy because u do a wonderful job with your sewing and Quilting. Now that you have shown me how to do rounded corner on my quilts when I bind them I will be doing that every time now thanks for that.keep up the good job Jean for all of us Quilter that look forward to all your Tutorials when u make them xx
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
Many quilters (if not most) like the squared corners of their quilts. I just love the soft rounded look. Just be careful to let the binding go very very loose around each curve, or else you will get a nasty curl-inward when you go to stitch the binding down! All the best and thanks so much! :)

Thank you Jean you help us newbies to quilting and sewing so much! Often you find when new you would be frozen because you are afraid it will end bad. However with your help you have gotten so many of us from that frozen point into really doing this. I love how you added the batting I was thinking when I saw these before with the two pieces of material how I wish they could be more quilt like. You made my dream come true Thank you for being you I love your videos and find you so much fun to watch and learn from. Don't let the people who don't appreciate you darken your day just know there are more of us who need your help and learn from you. Some people just can't be positive you can't change them.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory
Aw, thanks for those kind words! I'm seeing a lot of people who are "FROZEN"....I say to start small and slow...then build from there! Maybe someone won't even LIKE quilting...and that's okay!!! This way there is no huge expense laid out and one can move on!! I'm so pleased to impart what little I know to people who are willing to listen to me go on and on!! LOL!! Thanks so much again~

I am a teacher and when I read evaluations, I agree it is difficult to read negative reviews, so I encourage students to give constructive feedback and/or ideas to improve, rather than complain without value. Well, I think you taught this table runner just fine. When I saw it, I thought, wow, that is too hard for me, but you showed it so simply and it ended up not being hard at all, quite the contrary, it was very easy and you explained it just perfectly. I am keeping this further use. I have made one many years ago without a pattern, and boy, this would have been soooo easy had I watched your video. Thank you Jean, you're amazing and don't be discouraged by a few negative comments. Not sure why people just don't get off and ignore a video if they don't like it, it's pretty simple. Thank you, I loved this video. Good job. :)
