Joe and Mimi were actually always my favorite characters in the series as a child. The were comedic to me yet also sympathetic.

It is almost as if that in late 90s the Japanese had very different attitudes and goals towards their children than the West's towards their own children, at least as reflected by television shows for children. It's almost as if there is a real-life counterpart to Devimon ruling this reality right now.

My personality was located between Koshiro, Joe and Yamato as a kid. This is why I understand him well. Nowadays, I'm mostly Koshiro type.

The first time I watched Digimon Adventure Jo was probably my least favorite out of the kids but now as an adult I don't actually mind him. Gomamon being the opposite of Jo is such a good pairing, it gives him a lot of individuality from his partner. Can't agree enough about how a character is voiced changes the viewers perception of said character. Its why I usually watch shows in their original language first to get a good idea of how the creator wants us to view the show and if said show is poor in their original tongue I will try out the dub to see if they can make the experience better.
