Epson 1400 Continuous Ink System Install CISS 

Thank you so much for posting this video! I am in the process of purchasing a CIS and saw this model on Amazon but was concerned about it because of some of the reviews. Your video makes the process way less daunting and now I'm confident I can handle this process. I too am using this printer until it dies. :)

the only challenge I had with my ep 2200 large format printer was keeping the multi-ink hose free of hangups as the cartridge block ruins back and forth. Dangled the center with rubber band to keep it clear. Small inconvenience but saved SOOOO much money on ink. Make sure the reservoir is level and maybe use velcro to affix it to not get knocked over. Ink spilled onto drywall in normal house construction will STAIN through every layer of paint. You'd have to use a SEALER on the drywall to end this ghosting appearance of the stain. Weird. Ink for the Epson 2200 is compatible IN HP 6700 cartridges also. Saved $$$ using it in both. Be sure to clean the factory sponges below - about 7 of them

Good video, I have been using Cobra Ink CIS systems on Epson printers for over 8 years. Multiple WorkForce printers and my Artisan 1400. The key to good inkjet maintenance is to use them. If you are not printing photographs at least once every couple of weeks run a print head cleaning at least every couple of weeks. Getting the print heads working again after they get clogged because of non-use can be difficult. On a $100 printer, it may just be a throwaway but for an Epson 1400, that is not something you want to do.

Super helpful video as the written instructions with this left a bit to be desired. I used this with my Epson Photo 2200

It doesn't matter if you break the cover because it cancels out your warranty installing a Ciss. But it is worth the gamble to save a small fortune on ink.

Hello. Just installed this system and your video helped tons. No problem with ink, sensors, etc. The scary thing is the hose system flopping around - not well engineered/thought out. This printer (1430) appears to be a challenge for retrofitting CIS, given all the moving parts. Could you update on what exactly you did with the tape? How it's anchored, etc. Does it quiet the flopping? The scary part is what contortions occur under the housing as the carriage reaches the far end of its run. Do you have any other mod suggestions, re 1400 vs 1430? Thanks for any answers and help. Good video! Peace, Allen

wf-7610 in my case, i have a ciss, but red keeps dropping. it isn't a pigment clog, it literally just drops out mid-print. i'll do a head cleaning (after a quick manual prime), it will print a few times normally, but then drop out. only a dozen head cleanings is able to get the flow going again (by which i've wasted other colors just to make red appear). no red page-purge sheet ever works, ever ever. 100 in a row, zilch. only head cleanings did it. do you suppose the print head is to blame or the CISS? perhaps the heating element is going out? or should i take a chance and only replace the CISS? (it was an ebay one for $25 at the time, now about $38 for the same type). i'm looking more at the inkxpro ciss as a replacement.

Do you know if this is available for the Epson WorkForce WF-3820? I haven't been able to find it anywhere, including Amazon. Thanks!

Hello I have a problem actually.. I have all my cartridges full except the yellow. Ink is flowing to the head, but yet no yellow coming out. I removed the cartridge and eventually saw the yellow cartridge empty. What to do and wha is the problem please?? If you could help me out with this. Thank you

Does anyone know if you can fit a waste ink tank into this printer?😫 I have found plenty suitable waste ink tanks for similar eco tank printers however I was unable to find a waste ink tank that said it was specifically suited for the ET 1400

Hi I just install it nice but don'rt work keep sayin not epspn cartage not recognized. I keep trying buyt all lights are on and will not work says install epson anly

why did you do it in the middle instead of the side? the way it is now it seems like the tubes will kink and get caught. i think you are supposed to route the tubes from the right side really.

Question, why did you take the door off, it was not in the way was it?

It would make more sense to just have the cartridges that you can fill with a syringe full of ink. Because the cartridge is still going to tell you it’s out of ink and require you to reset it anyways. If you use the syringe method you won’t have to take the door off, deal with that ridiculous ribbon tubes and those ink tanks
