Dr Been, I suffered severe EBV in 1999 I got severe Delta in October 2021 and nearly died. Today I suffer Long Covid. Dr H just ran alot of blood work, and bingo, EBV at 600+ obviously reactivated, explaining alot of my misery. But something else showed up in the many tests that was very concerning, but apparently Covid causes it in some people. My Iron was almost non existent, my Iron Saturation was very low, so I am Anemic, the paleness and fatigue makes sense. Dr H has me on 25mg of Iron Bisglycinate daily. Acyclovir was prescribed to fight the EBV Reactivation. Strangely my Selenium was at toxic levels, but I don’t take it, so LabCorp showed twice high Selenium. Anyway, the EBV that made me so sick in 1999 is reactivated and wreaking havoc on me again. So yes, Covid does through Viral Persistence reactivate sleeping giants. Watch the low Iron too. Bruce Patterson showed that the S1 spike protein is found chronically presented in non-classical monocytes with defective apoptosis. Would it be possible for the same thing to happen with EBV? Could EBV cause the non-classical monocytes to live forever and chronically present an EBV antigen causing chronic fatigue. Would we find an EBV protein in those non-classical monocytes of chronic fatigue sufferers?
Dr Been i got covid in March last year and was hospitalised for three weeks. At home i had oxygen for a year. 5 weeks after diagnose of covid i started with different problems like joint paijoint pains. Then fatigue, memory loss headaches, hair loss ,bad appetite brain fog. I once had somethig like a electric shock on left side of body which was terribly paifullm at the moment i battle with very itchy rash which started in December December. We have numerous ointments and creams but nothig helps. The rash just spreaded up my arms,? body and face and head.My eyes are also painful .I slept for days and could mot even remember ny grand chidrens names. I live in South Africa and don't know how much help there is. Any suggestions?
Hello dr Been I think u are brilliant have a question my son is having some symptoms basically had a headache brain fog anxiety those symptoms gone but still has tenderness under his armpits did bloodwork for ebv and his antibodies were high the tenderness under his armpits is that also a symptom of ebv
