if you think about it diamonds are useless when you are that far in an survival world cuz he repair his stuff with mending and there is not efficiant to use them for beacons
@@The-Listener why would you? For enchantment tables? Yeah that's the only thing that comes to mind. But like... LIKE! Do ya REALLY need more than 10 of those? That's 20 diamonds EVER, and if you're me and you keep everything you could need for a temp base in a shulker box in an ender chest, you really only need 2 diamonds after you get villagers, so long as you play single player.
Etho if you replace all of those lily pads with upside down slabs, you wont have the bumpy terrain anymore :) now that slabs can become waterlogged, it won't disturb reeds Also you have to right click the banner with the map in order for the banner to show up, I believe it should still work with all map sizes
I never thought of that, now I can make my reed farm flat again, this game man. I've been around since 2010 and i'm still getting used to stuff like elytras and shulkers I feel like such an old school player, it'll be 1.16 before I fully understand 1.13 at this rate.

Hey Etho :) The things you cannot or won't fix, board them up and sign them as "out of business" or something or even make them look really dilapidated (maybe have a visible named cave spider stuck in the system as well)! Adding lore like that to your world really makes it come alive I feel and it still honors (enhances them I'd say) previous builds :D ! - More videos please!
Depending on your exact lay-out, you could even use said spider(s) to track you and trigger redstone contraptions (noteblocks, ender pearl dispenser, ...). (Don't make a game out of this, all your copyrights belong to me!) xD

Just in case you're curious, and you happen to see this: I rigged up a redstone contraption that places shulker boxes and breaks them with trapdoors, just like 15:30, but completely automated. I also made it 15 blocks wide to increase sample size. It was a fun project. For some math: This contraption completes around 36 tests per minute, or 2,160 per hour. With 15 boxes in each test, that's around 32,400 samples per hour. For some results: After over an hour of testing, none of the boxes ever went into an adjacent hopper. (Not even when adjacent boxes were the same color, for those curious. They can't stack, so it's not surprising.) The outcome makes sense when you really look at it. The broken shulker box items are effectively boxed in on three sides when they break. You might have thought of that when you designed it. Anyway, you should be good. :-)

I love that the Etho community is so much different than literally every other community on RU-vid. Hey Etho! What you do is you right click with the map on your named banner, then it will show up. You can also hide the banner under ground (it will still show), maybe an idea for your spawn area?
i think etho is tired of working on his older projects, which is okay, its understanable from how long hes been doing this series, just passinf 500 episodes its a long time to be making projects and trying to finish them, newer ones give him more space for creativity and a chance to build something new and something great, something he actually wants to do and some people might not enjoy that but seeing him happy doing what he wants to do is entertaining enough for me and i actually enjoy it too
If you use lamps for the ceiling as well you can indicate which round the player is on as well. you can also add effects for resetting, new game, winning, losing etc..
Etho has been the first and only RU-vidr I have watched consistently since I was 8 years old (14 now), and has probably introduced a large chunk of the person I am now. His videos convinced me to buy Minecraft and Terraria, which created a common interest between me and my peers, who got me out of my shell. Then, I discovered my interest in the anime community through Naruto (the anime which his skin is from). Most of my friends are ones I have met through conversations about Minecraft or anime, neither of which I would have an interest in without Etho. Whenever I have a long or boring day, Etho’s videos always cheer me up. Etho is without a doubt my favorite RU-vidr!

1- have different amount of items in each color of shulker boxes 2- put a comparator behind to know which color you have 3- decode the comparator signal 4- have a item sorter that gains the same color of shulker in the row 5- have a second item sorter that sort for the others rows 6- if the item is picked by the first sorter you gain a black peg, if it's sorted by the second a white, else no peg And you don't have to think about items despawning
Your shulker box system might have a problem. If there are two of the same colour beside each other, they might stack together before they can fall into the hopper
Just tested it. Shulker boxes can't stack. Not even when they're loose items lying on the ground, or flying in the air when broken by a piston. Shouldn't be a problem.
I recommend Pink Pick texture for keeping picks alive if you end up digging anything huge. (Causes picks to turn into a huge pink square when super low.) It can be found in the SciCraft discord. I know Doc invited you over there. Also if you ever hit a brick wall on anything they'd be good help, they've helped Doc out with many projects.
Etho, I’ve been watching your videos for years even though I stopped playing myself a while ago. I love more than anything your letsplay series. I know you struggle with playing the same world and game over and over, but I would love more than anything a more frequent letsplay upload :)
Etho the contraption that counts black and white pegs is still usable, white pegs = 4 (maximum number of colors in a combination) - colors in the chest(or hopper) - black pegs. It should work as intended, hoped someone would have point it out last episode and sorry for bad English
I think the issue with that is the colored blocks have to stay out of chests to interact with the guess blocks on the next try. Thats why he was worried about them despawning. I may be misunderstanding what you mean though.
Or maybe I'm wrong, but in the previous video there was a flaw in the logic behind the counting of white pegs (I'll watch the video back so I can say for sure) and that's why he said (at 11:00) that the he'll work on the logic of white pegs, I admit I got lost with what he wants to do with shulkerboxes :/

Shalker box display and sorter... A hopper can pull items out and if its pointing sideways into another shalker box the items will go into that but a shalker in that hopper won't push it into the shalker. This will give a different signal strength when you use a comparator which can be used to unlock a hopper below.
I haven't finished the video, about 13 minutes in... but like... shulkers with differing numbers of items with comparitors emitting redstone signals is such a good way of doing things

So I found your channel a few years back, at like episode 250 or something, and decided to binge watch your LP every night, and always ended up falling asleep to your videos for about a month straight. And due to the constant conditioning, now everytime I hear your voice I get drowsy and fall asleep! I takes me a few attempts just to get through one episode! Sometimes when I'm having trouble sleeping, I just throw on one of your videos and I'm out like a light no problem! This has nothing to do with the episode, just thought you'd find it interesting!
