Europe intends to refuse from Russian gas

The next round of European sanctions on Russia is expected to include restrictions on Russian liquefied natural gas for the first time. We are also talking about introducing sanctions against 3 Russian LNG projects, the implementation of which has not yet begun. Voice of America writes about this, citing sources in the EU.

Stopping trade with Russia is helping the EU transition to renewables for everyones benefit!!! Spain can use North African gas and Solar now dominating electricity and heating in Spain!!

Solar and wind are inadequate. Please research and then advocate for nuclear power. These are engineering questions not answered by feelings and untutored opinions. We all have a responsibility to take the time to understand the numbers.

No it doesn't help this transition because in the end it depends on price and for what energy is used Spain and solar energy will not work as 77% of solar cells are produced in China and also China can get gas cheaper from Russia or Turkmenistan then Spain from Algeria.And Spain is already the good example.Same wouldn't in Poland for instance

@@goenzoy712 Spain closed coal power and will go 100% renewable very soon from its massive Solar advantage. Once built out it will only need small incremental solar Panel supplies. Europe has been too slow to support its Solar Industry.Politics??

That's very optimistic .Spain s renewable % is only half where I live and nobody is talking from 100% here. Spain might get there by 2045 so for me not the definition of soon

This is excellent news and should have been done a long time ago, a band on natural gas,coal and oil along with a total embargo and sanctions package that includes everything from A to Z with the exception of food and medicine. Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇪🇺

Sweden here, only about 1% of our households use gas. It is uncommon both for cooking and for heating. There are however restaurants who use gas but we are one of the countries that consume the least gas per capita in Europe. So I doubt that there would be any issues if we would cut out russian gas completely, especially considering that Norway has plenty of it.

Then there are other people who suffer from their loud mistakes. Anyone with a Stop Oil conviction should be banned from the use of oil for life.

@@Felixxxxxxxxx Now that is how you achieve carbon neutral. For the U.K. nuclear, wind and sun are likely the best options. Unless we are willing to replant the moorlands to turn them back into forests to grow fire wood to reduce our carbon footprint, the last one is likely not an option.

I’m sorry but the war has been going on for more than two years and any EU countries that couldn’t stop using Russian gas then have had all that time to switch to another way. Why didn’t the EU put a time limit on those countries like two years. Have they even 😊tried to make new arrangements? WHY isn’t the EU asking these questions? We know Orban has no plans to give up Russian gas!

Somebody didn't listen to the video. Prices are already at free-market levels, meaning any supplier will sell it at that exact same price, or possibly give an introductory discount to capture the national contracts when the terrorist federation is cut off.

These long term contracts are problematic, that’s why Sweden still gets some gas from russia. They are written such that if we decline a delivery, we still have to pay and they will be left with the cargo. When they expire, there will be no new contracts

@@AstroGremlinAmerican You are right. About 15% now and 30% in 2030 if all goes well. Denmark gets 55% of electricity from wind turbines. One problem is that the European grid needs to be modernised. Only ~1% of households in Sweden use gas for stoves.
