Plus, the account has no time limit like there used to be for trial accounts. From there, your account is in what's called Alpha status, meaning it's a free account with restrictions on what you can train and fly, but it's a good way to test the waters and see if Eve fits for you. Then, you can take it up a notch and decide to upgrade your account to Omega status, which lifts those restrictions and you train faster. At the worst, you give it a shot and all it costs you is some time, and only as much as you like (goodbye 14-day trials).

It's the best boring game ever made. The community is amazing.

T2 ships (and capital ships) are indeed locked for paying players only, as are the T2 weapon systems for large ships (battleships) and up. However, everything below that is accessible for f2p players. Here's my suggestion; sell some of those t2 ships and just have fun with what you can fly.

"That one" what? Person that points out things that should be made obvious to anyone asking about the business model? There is literally no obvious place on the website, when you sign up, etc. NOWHERE that lays out the limitations of free accounts, aside from some vague mentions when you go to the page to buy PLEX that no one playing the game for the first time would even understand. That is all information that should be easily and readily accessible on the website, and it's not. An oversight I wanted to mention here. I wasn't complaining about the limitations so much as the lack of information available *about* all of the limitations (none). Sycophantic fuckwads...

We use T1 cruisers fit with T2 fittings every day for home defence and there great, tons of DPS out of those when in a fleet and there also good at PvP.

It is free to play and tons of people play it free every day in big public roaming fleets of 200-400 in alpha accounts? Your point is yes if you want to fly all ships and do everything then you will need an omega one day but for a new player alphas are more than enough I can bet they don't even no half the shit there doing or even fly the ships you can fly at that level. It's a good training experience that allows you to play Eve while not paying as its a big game, and hard to get into way easier now than it ever was but still new bros still struggle.

Lol i've been playing for 10 years and i use use f2p in factional warfare. It's easier now than it ever has been, especially with abyssal deadspace being open to frigates. Crawl out of your comfort zone a little and give it a try.

Pay to win in what way? I mean you can buy $10000 of PLEX skill inject all the skills, buy a marauder fit it with the most expensive abyssal modules undock from Jita and then get ganked in Perimeter
