FYI Capcom has stated several times that the build they had on site is an early build of Season 2 with changes that might not even be in the final patch

As a Luke/Juri main with a Kim player friend/rival I do. I'm in pain just reading it.

Dude seriously. Having easier access/more combo routes into OD air grab means that the additional layers of offense she gets in the corner (safejump setups, j.hk reset into low/overhead/throw/shimmy RPS, spraycan setups, Drive Impact reset) will now be a consistent mid screen threat. Kimberly players are gonna be pulling off all sorts of crazy tech with this change. I’m so hyped for this patch!

Juri’s kind of mid? I’d argue that with the current buffs and rumored changes in season 2 ryu>juri. She’s never left top 10 but she’s been out of most everyone’s top 5 for ages.

@@byakuyatogami1859 Juri has been consistently winning tournaments or at the very least top 3. Shes at least the 3rd best character in the game behind Ken and Luke.

@@Chaogod1233 she gets out performed by chun who’s currently most pros top 1, ken and Luke and deejay are better and have superior matchup spreads. Jp pre recent nerds was better. Guile has a great matchup against her. Blanka is way better. Look into what people have been saying juri hasn’t been top 5 for a long time. And she’s widely considered bottom of top 10 the meta has changed.

The juri buffs atleast are just QOL changes though, wont have much tier impact. She’ll still be a hella good character but shes not gonna move up or down in tier just because of that. I know people like to throw around the word top tier for anybody who’s on the upper half of the cast tier list but she actually does have some harder match ups and some characters are just better than her, like Luke, Ken, Dee Jay, Chun, JP, Guile, Cammy, Blanka in season 1. My guess is they realized shes in a good spot. Id say They also realized Marissa is also overall in a solid spot but could use some smaller changes to help bring her up and decided fuck it, especially since safe and wake up vreversal will be a thing, they wanna make sure if its harder to hit them, that its even scarier to get hit by marisa. Do i think its the right call? Idk. But i can see the vision whether its right or wrong
