No. Every ESO player needs to know this. All of these content creators are given cheats to allow them to do the things they can do. They didn't earn any of the items they have legitimately. I know because I used to get the same cheats. Those dungeons are much easier if you can pick all the best stuff from a little magic bag. If you know someone is a content creator walk away. Do not engage them in any way because they will screw you over if they can. They are not your friends.

Coming from ffxiv this is a problem with how ESO is structured. In ESO you never know when there is a new player doing the dungeon for the first time who may want to see the story of the dungeon. And in ESO part of the story occurs while you are fighting in the dungeon. In ffxiv, when you load into an old dungeon with a new player, there are icons above the new player's head to indicate that they're new. There is a cutscene before the dungeon starts, and a cutscene before the final boss. Standard practice is to wait for the newbie to finish their cutscenes, which are like 30 seconds. And the veterans are compensated in extra gold and XP.

Yeah, doing random normals in ESO as a brand new player has got to be AIDS. Everyone speed running dungeons, you don't finish half the quests, and you don't learn how to play the game. I hate that I had to defend casuals in ESO because a lot of them are super toxic, but there is a balance here that needs to be struck. In general, just don't be a dick when you're playing with other people.

@@Hippo_27 why wouldnt u finish half the quests?, the quest in dungeon literally track progress upto where u are, you can pick it up halfway through the dungeon if you had to, not to mention the dungeons are extremely easy which is part of the reason they get sped through, also, if u are below CP/50 on ur character most of the time you will be with maybe 1 person above cp, and 2 other people who are below 50, so the dungeons go very slow 🤣 its very rare that as a new player or below 50 that you are queued with more than one person who is above 50, i have levelled enough characters to know this its not that fun to do dungeons so slow, especially when im just doing the daily to grab a few levels for a new character

@leetrisk @leetrisk finishing half the quest? You can't queue for only the second half. You have to do the whole thing over again. Many people leveling alts are already 50 and are still doing dungeon quests, depends on how you level. In the case of losing quest progress, it really doesn't matter if you're a new player or not. The only reason you would lose progress is because your group skipped something that takes time to wait for, like clearing the beach in Tempest Island or waiting for NPCs to give you dialogue. It's mostly the base game dungeons that do this.

yea but what im saying is, if you make a new character or are new, half the time you are paired with alot of noobs/low levels anyway, it makes the dungeon go slow, maybe every now and again you get the odd high level player, the quest is shared to everyone when its picked up too, u can just accept it. perhaps there is the odd scenario, but i have levelled many characters and never really missed a quest for a dungeon ive done, i always collect them for the extra skill point and exp

No expectations goes both ways. You shouldn’t just expect your group is doing a speed run. Text chat exists for a reason. Use it to communicate. End of the day if you can’t play well with others, don’t play an MMO. He does absolutely sound entitled bc people asked him to slow down and he just refused. Sometimes you’re also grouped with new players that want to experience the dungeon for the first time. Speed runs are fine but again this is a social game. Can’t play with others, go play a solo game.

Yep. "I'm not here to fulfil your expectations" but goes on to say how he expects everyone to bow to anyone who wants to speedrun. No regard for newer players who may be doing quests. No regard for setting off every single mob and leaving your team behind to deal with them. I don't go into a dungeon expecting to never use a self heal just because we have a healer, but we should all expect someone taking part in a group activity to actually play with the group they are in. I bet these guys are the first to complain when they get fake tank/fake heal.

The issue is not "entitlement" as much as it is the root cause of being "self centered". While it is true that people should not enter a public queue with expectations, it is equally true that people should not enter a public queue expecting that they can simply do whatever they want. Each participant may need to adjust accordingly, so it is important to understand both of those concepts.

Nah, this I disagree and I'll tell you why: It's a coop activity. I'm pretty much always ok with rushing personally, but I get people who aren't. People getting screwed out of doing quests, fake tanks making an easy dungeon hard for everyone else (especially the healer), etc. is just trash behavior. There is a social contract, it's you do the job you sign up for and you work as a group. Period. You not wanting to wait is too damn bad, you not wanting to tank/heal is too damn bad. Go solo the dungeon then. Daily random transmutes is a lame excuse to be an arsehole. I don't care what your excuse is, the people you're playing with are PEOPLE! You owe them some basic courtesy. That's not being entitled. That's being a well adjusted adult. The one thing I do agree with is that the transmute reward for daily random incentivizes this. I totally agree that the game should allow people to solo random and that this would resolve the issue. The system is what it is though and using it as an excuse to be a selfish jerk is lame. Ok, I did the taboo, I disagreed. Come at me with your excuses for why spending 2 extra minutes of your day is too much to ask to be decent to another human being.

@GentlemenMonkey
@GentlemenMonkey 2 месяца назад
@@deadohiosky1701 I'm glad you bring up que time because there's a chicken/egg sort of problem here. Why is que time so long for DPS? A disparity between DPS and tanks and healers. ...but why are there so few tanks and healers queing for random? Well it's not because the jobs are just inherently unpleasant, lots of people enjoy them, myself included. As someone who does these roles, I submit to you that the reason I and most people I know don't que for randoms on our tanks and healers is because rushers make our jobs miserable. Instant que is nice sure, run will be fast with rushers sure, but it's miserable trying to do our jobs. In the name of speedy rewards rushers optimize all the fun out of the game, and for tanks and healers it turns what should be a nice easy run into a stressful shot show. People who tank or heal tend to do so because we enjoy the game play of it. Not letting us do our jobs, making a bad experience for us, that means we stop showing up and that's why DPS que is as long as it is. TLDR: que for DPS is long because tanks and healers don't want to play with skooma heads. Rushers created this problem. A final anecdote I would add is from the last time I leveled a character, a DPS arcanist. I can not tell you how many times I sat in que for 10, 15, 20+ minutes for a dungeon and did not get to complete the dungeon quest because people just couldn't spare the minuscule amount of time it would have taken . The time sink is getting TO the dungeon, not actually DOING it. An extra 30 seconds or less is all it would cost people to let folks do the quests in most dungeons. A normal base game dungeon takes, what, maybe 10-15 minutes to do? DLC's maybe 15-20? So in the overall scheme of things it's about a 30-40 minute time sink from que to completion going as fast as possible. Literally 2 minutes or less is all it would take to be considerate to legit tanks, healers and people trying to do quests. Everyone there is spending this time. The only question is if 2 lousy minutes is worth screwing over up to 3 other people who spent just as much time as you.

Most of the time the enemies are long dead before they have the opportunity to kill you. But tbh I'm playing the "fake" role so I never experienced it the other way. @efalien5926 2 месяца назад
No, at least in EU server according to my personal experience there are filled with average joe and veteran players who either want to farm transmutes or doing pledges. In both cases, they simply want to finish the run as soon as possible. If you are a newer player, join a guild. We have never build up a trial player through the normal dungeon finder. If people join our raid guild and willing to learn, we will provide all the information and time. But again we have never done that through a normal queue. I talk this out of experience being in multiple raid guilds and in one being the one who nurture new players to trials and providing beginner raids and learning raids. The latter is not easy to do simply because only if a new chapters comes out than there will be influx of newer player, but the rest of the year, there is simply little to no demand for that. If someone says, "Hey, I'm on the quest," and another player runs ahead of the group anyway, yeah, the player running ahead is the asshole. Because that almost always bugs the quest and keeps the player who is trying to finish it from completing the quest. In that case, asking someone to slow down isn't griefing, it's asking them to pay attention to the communication in the damn chat box. However, as long as people aren't going so far ahead that people are getting locked out of boss loot and aren't aggroing trash mobs but then leaving them for the rest of the group to fight while they rush to bosses/the end, and aren't bugging the quest for someone...have at it. Say things like, "on quest, please stop so I can wait for NPC's" or "can we speed run" or the like, and it'll solve 90% of the problems people have in PUG dungeon runs. I think your perspective is valid, but also colored by your experience level. Put yourself in the mindset of someone who has just started playing. You queue for a random 4-man dungeon. You have to choose a particular role, you probably expect to have 4 people working together to complete it. When one person starts running ahead killing everything (or not), you might be confused or at least think, “wtf is going on? Am I supposed to keep up? Sometimes it is that person’s first time in that dungeon. Meaning they are on a quest to get a skill point. Some of the older dungeons you have to kill all bosses to get said skill point. And in like BC1 you have to wait on a cutscene that you can’t skip. So now if you had to wait on that long cutscene and you killed the boss. Then they can no longer get that said skill point. So maybe that is why someone might ask you to slow down a bit. Eso maybe should make cutscenes be able to skip. I myself always ask in anyone questing. If I try to explain and there’s been several attempts to teach people how to play by content creators; we all get called toxic and elitist. If you can't have expectations of other players, then you can't expect anyone to be waiting for you in the dungeon. But you also can't expect your group to like it if you run through it like he does in the video. The players asked nicely if he could run slower. There's nothing wrong with that. That's not an expectation. It's a question that immediately got Nessaiga upset. He accuses the players of being self-centered but actually he's just being selfish towards his teammates. These players have only one expectation. They expect social behavior and loyalty to the group. There's nothing wrong with that. That's a normal human expectation of interpersonal interaction. I don't know what's wrong with the dungeon taking you a few seconds longer. I just know it sucks when you're running through an empty dungeon because a teammate is running ahead the whole time. If I were a beginner, I would also leave the group because this dungeon run would be pointless for me. Just don't be toxic to each other and that includes not uploading a video that only accuses and shows off other players. Personally, I don't have any expectations of other players, but I also don't think it's a bad thing if other players expect a minimum of social consideration in an MMO. If you have any expectations of other players' skills, high speed, or if you want to unlock achievements, then don't play with randoms.

One my my biggest annoyances in ESO. People queuing for the wrong role and players running ahead. If you queue as a tank. Be a tank. If you queue as a healer. Be a healer. And for the love of all the gods. Do not sit in the back with a bow light attacking. And I know people will just say, queue with your friends if you don’t like how the public queue systems works which is dumb because the same argument could be made to the ones queuing as the wrong role and running ahead. I get that after years of doing the same dungeons over and over folks just want to get in and get out. But the dungeons can be done just as quickly if the group rolls together and those other players might learn something along the way. Hell, you might even gain a new guild member.

I don't mind people fake roleing in normal dungeons if they make small concession to the role e.g. slot a taunt on your fake tank or Vigor on your fake healer. Please enlightenment me why for the love of god we should play "full" tank/heal setup for a normal dungeon?! I used to do just that in my early Eso game career as a Tank. Sometimes it was good, most of the time it was unbearable. You have to ask yourself the question, what most people use the random normal dungeon queue in the first place. I bet that most of us, especially the veteran player who has played the game for a long time, only queue there for the transmutes and nothing more and less for quest experience. As long as you know that, you will have no problems, because with that realization, you will always go premade for good experience and you will pug only without expectation for those transmutes. Regarding helping "newbies" in normal pug. I used to do just that. Telling people how to get better, how the mechanics is played. Most of the time "those" people dont want that and get defensive very fast. Only with "those" people I have trouble and that is why I stop bothering explaining them how to play. Thankfully most of the people are more than happy for me to play parse tank.

@@samuraichicken2315 one reason It annoys me when players queue for the wrong role is because it teaches bad habits. Ever do a raid and see a group member miss a mechanic because they were tunnel visioned trying to do the rotation they practiced all week on? I barely do group PvE (I find it tedious), so this has been a fascinating discussion. One thing I will say though is as someone who is OCD about picking up every single bit of loot, I would probably be the type of person who is slightly behind everyone else. That is probably what most of the 'slow' people do to be fair and what the cooperative people who were slightly behind Nessaiga were probably doing. I personally wouldn't really have an issue with someone going ahead like Ness as long as I could loot bosses and get credit for the Skill Point and Quests (although based on comments I've seen that's generally not too much of a problem so that's good to know). After all, someone running ahead and doing most of the DPS means less work for me haha (I fucking HATE endlessly having to kill trash mobs so much ughhh)! But anyway, I have so many Mythic leads to farm in dungeons that I've been putting it off doing. Sigh... So hopefully when I finally do start farming them, I will run into nice players like Ness who do a lot of DPS on trash mobs for me and make the experience go faster haha!

The problem with running ahead when it comes to other people is those, who need to do the dungeon quest. You need to wait for npc's to finish dialogue so that the quest can continue. If you get teleported to the boss room before finishing the dialogue, you skip that part of the quest and cannot finish it. (Special annoying bonus is Crypt of hearths, where one boss is optional for finishing the dungeon, but mandatory for finishing the quest) That sucks. As a new player you probably don't have group of friends that can run it slower with you and wait for the dialogue, you also aren't strong enough to solo it and go your own pace. So we are stuck in this system. The best we can do is ask your group, or tell the group, who (if anyone) needs to go slower and talk to npcs.

I am split on this one. On one end I understand the grind. On the other, youre acting just as entitled if not more entitled. I agree that there should be no expectations where skill is concerned. However I do think that you should be able to expect that others would play the game as it was intended in group settings like that. You want to run a train on a dungeon, go quad DPS it with some guildies you know. I dont think you have a right to ruin the game play for the strangers you’re with. That said, there is a really good and easy fix. That little “vote to kick” button. Works in a pinch.

People may have expectations because they are not so experienced. I've been playing for years, so I understand what people may be like in a random queue. When I was new to doing dungeons, I didn't know what I was getting into. I didn't know about the transmute rewards. The game tells me there is a tank, a healer and 2 DD's. As someone who is not so familiar with the game, I had expectations based on what I saw in the game. I also had expectations on group play. Yes, I was rather naïve, but that is going to happen with less experienced players. Now, when I was really new to dungeons, I found people were kind to me then. I tell them I'm new and people slow down for me. I quickly felt that I was slowing them down, so started just quickly skipping the dialogue. Maybe I was really lucky when I was new. I never felt rushed by anyone. No one ever ran too fast for me to catch up without too much effort. I don't recall seeing anyone play like Nes who was killing things quickly, but just a little ahead of the group. Maybe I was too inexperienced to notice. What Nes did was probably fine for me. I do recall my first experience with speed runners. I was a bit more experienced then. I noticed they were running past everything and managed to keep up. I recall it was such a weird run because I never experienced a run like that before. I think that run was the one that made me realise that anything can happen with a random group. For most runs, up to that, I found that the pace is often within a certain range. I don't approach queues has having no expectations. I more approach it as to be prepared for anything far from ideal. I do get a bit annoyed with some groups once in a while, but I generally don't say anything and just try to finish the dungeon the best I can.

The problem with the normal queue is that you have 2 players "those that queued on a specific non-random dungeon for the quest/skill point" and "those that queued on a random dungeon for the xp/transmutes". Unfortunatly those 2 players can't live with eachother unless zos changes the unskipable dialogue in those few base game dungeons, there is no problem on dlc ones. And separating the queues will mean super long specific queues, so not good. My solution is simple, in the same way as living in a country has rights but also duties/responsibilities, playing a random normal has also rights and duties/responsibilities. - If you are a player ququeing on a specific dungeon/doing a quest you are the minority, and your duty/responisbility is to tell everyone that you are doing the quest, in particular in those unskipable dialogue dungeons. From the moment that message is sent the duty/responsability of the rest of the team is to wait for the player, this doesn't mean literally waiting, but reducing the speed so the player can catch up or waiting before the boss, or as the guy in the video nefas watched being slightly in front of the rest. - If no message was sent, then it is a speedrun. Because no message means "everyone is here for the transmute/xp/rewards" and a faster dungeon is better for everyone. - If the message was sent late (lets say on the first big dialogue, usually after 1st bosss) then your fault, and the dungeon will be a speedrun. Unless everyone agrees to wait for you. - What about those that want to roleplay and see the dungeon? Well, you will need to organise your own dungeon with friends or guildies. Randoms should not wait for you. Randoms is not the palce for that. - What if I need the quest and never said anything? Too bad for you. You had one job, write a message in group chat "I am need the quest" but didn't. Try queuing again. - What if I need to finish this fast, but there is a person doing the quest, you can still do it fast, maybe not world recod fast, but fast non-the-less. - What if I need to finsih it because i need to leave for work/school/life, "I can't wait for other players". Too bad for you, it is a random, so you can't expect others to have 100k dps and be fast, whether there is a player doing a quest or not. Plus what if its a long dungeon LoM, MoS, Fungal Grotto, etc? You have no right or expectation. IT IS A RANDOM.

Its also the difficulty of dungeons and their structure. Base game dungeons are so dated that you can solo them faster than rest of your average snipe spam skyrim enjoyers could contribute and you can easily skip or avoid entire group of mobs towards the boss leaving your group behind. Newer dungeons after Mazzatun have trashpacks made in a way you cannot skip them and often you have doors or barriers you cannot bypass clearing that pack. But most of the time even in old content, capable tank that is properly pulling, rooting and rebuffing packs makes a huge difference in clear speed and running ahead has no merit. And those that aggro stuff and just run past trapping other people in doors (or even better, then getting mad on dying) deserve their special place in hell, its wasting everyone's time.

I wondered why enemy NPCs ran ahead of me in dundeons - cause they were taunted and I was a slow level 10. Lol. I remember my first level 10 run through a dungeon and I thought it was difficult sincr ESO was my first video game and I was clueless about what to do or what to expect. Yes, players ran past me and it only signaled to me there was something to learn and we learn by doing! My view was play for fun, die, rinse and repeat. I never got upset about anything ever - it's a freaking game! I recall an old Alcast video where he said a key component is "learning" and not expecting to be spoon fed. Good times!

I join RNDs as healer. Shorter wait times for the queue. I try to keep speed up so I equip Ring of the Wild Hunt. The only irritating situation for me is when a tank drags mobs to a boss. Other than that, RNDs have been fine overall.

Personally I think this happens more often then not because its random normals and a casual player ends up in a lobby with a high cp player with max gear and its the fact that they got queued with a casual and the gear diff is the real thing thats causing these instances to happen.

I will have to agree. I personally say "hello" at the start and tyfg at the end. If everyone did really well I'll compliment. Do I expect that in return? Absolutely not lol. I farm transmutes with low level healers (specifically made for transmute runs) and never let them get above lvl 28 (my level 10 crafted gear gets stale about then lol). This way I never have to que for harder dungeons that might require teamwork. I do harder dungeons with guildies. Expectations in real life and ESO will only lead to one thing... disappointment. :) Just have fun, do your best, and don't worry about other ppl's hang ups.

When you QUEUE, for a GROUP activity, you should EXPECT to do an activity, WITH THAT GROUP. Not running ahead, not lagging behind, but sticking WITH THE GROUP. That said, there's no good reason for ZOS to still be asking players to do base game content TEN YEARS LATER. The devs are absolute shit at making new and engaging content. Major chapter content lasts a few months, Dungeon DLC maybe 2-3 weeks. They rely way too hard on players grinding old content. It's pathetic.
@Scuuurbs
@Scuuurbs 2 месяца назад
The reason why this happens in ESO and not other MMOs, is because random normal dungeon difficulty is cake. 100% of trash pulls and 90-95% of bosses can be solod by any half-decent player, quickly & easily. ZOS gives players zero incentives to work together. All you have left is whatever basic level decency/etiquette you choose to bring to the group - which leads to people like Ness & Nefas having the mentality of "these are strangers, I don't care about the group, I just want to get this done." I've never been a fan of how ZOS has handled group content (especially the questing) but until now I've never heard exactly what the rushers are thinking. What an absolute shitshow, lmao.

If I am doing a daily random with a low level character or a level 50 character that I am leveling up skills/skill lines with, I *want* someone like Ness in the group so that I get the xp and transmutes faster. If I am doing a daily random with an optimised build, I would prefer someone like Ness in the group so the fast run will be even faster, but it's optional. If I want to rp, listen to the dungeon quest dialogs, etc, I collect a group separately just for that. I won't be going through the finder because as Nefas said, no expectations via finder.

It is a design issue i.e. that rnd's are the best option for transmutes. The only entitlement I find irritating is people using an addon to view your drops then demanding items with no idea how curated drops work. Also, entitlement depends enitrely on your POV. Both players are entitled here because both are adamant they are right when neither are. The runner because he refuses to slow down when asked, and the lagger because he asks in a rude and antagonistic manner.

dude is high enough CP to have all the optimized CP slotted and probably golded out gear. Nothing special probably, on normal. Most normals can be easily soloed by even lower CP players that know what they are doing. Build a meta arcanist in deadly/ansuuls, julianos/orders wrath even and you can do better than what he is doing probably.

I dont even need to listen to the NPC its just at different intervals of the dungeon you need to speak to them again as they appear other then that I'm fine with it all and even more so if the quests aleady been completed in said dungeon.

if you need a tank to complete the content, you're gonna go at the tanks pace, like it or not. I play a lot of tank and in dlc vet dungeons the tank says when it's time to fight, even if they have Bracing anchor -16% movement speed active. if you don't need a tank for the content, then you probably don't need a tank in the group and the content can be completed quickly/er without one so i don't really see your comparison.

If there was no expectation then would question why there are specific roles to be played here…DPS TANK HEALER. So I can see the confusion where it’s more difficult as a healer than a DPS to get through the dungeon. If there is a specific role or roles that need to be fulfilled then maybe there should be a specific way to play the dungeon. Same with mechanics…I think I can see both sides here.

The timing of me catching this video and an incident I had just yesterday is ironic. Yes, if you sign up for a PUG, know going in that you're going to end up on a run where you may end up not liking 1/2/all others in the group. Welcome to the human race. Some people are just out for the TCs, some just want to farm loot, some are doing the quest, some want to loot barrels and crates, and some want to stop at every bookcase and read every word in every book. I understand this and I can work with any group I end up in; provisionally. Yesterday, I was on a vet random, and the healer started asking people for a specific set pieces with the divines trait that dropped in that dungeon. He said he would pay and asked people to check if they had anything he needed. One other person and myself said we'll list whatever we got at the end. He then said, I know two of you have already looted pieces I need. I want you to trade them to me now; apparently he's running with that add-on that lists what everyone loots (which I HATE, btw). He said if we didn't trade with him, then he guesses we don't need heals. I then told him I would've given him anything he needed at no cost at the end of the run, but because he's a fucktard, he gets nothing. At that point the group broke up when three of us had enough of that guy. So, yes, PUGs are like a box of chocolates; but unfortunately, most of the those chocolates are loaded with nuts.

Sure, if people get matched together via the dungeon finder, the other players are not entitled to you doing things like waiting for them, killing mobs as a dps, taunting bosses as a tank or healing people as a healer. But in the same vein, you are not entitled to them keeping you around. They are fully within their rights to votekick you. If you queue for a role, I expect you to try to perform that role in some way. I don't need you to be good at it, but there needs to be an attempt. If you queue as a healer, I expect you to have some heal skills slotted and to use them on other players. If you queue as a tank, I expect you to have a taunt slotted and to use it on bosses and big adds as well as have enough defensives to survive getting hit.

I’d love for the queue system to be set up so the you could get into a rnd with less than 4 people Failing that, an “advanced” rnd queue would be great. One where everyone queues as a dps, where the people are joining knowing it’s going to be a fast, free-for-all of (probably) more experienced players that just want to grab their transmutes and go

I'm also very glad that you brought this up because I have brought it up and comments in the past. You're absolutely correct that if ZOS tinkers with things and enforces a true tank or true healer for a random or give solo players an alternate way to get transmutes, those ques would take forever and make the game look less active to those casuals which would make them complain a whole lot more about that than the way the system is right now.
