Fair enough. Yet, you can easily find them so I don't see an advantage. It is like ordering pizza and having it delivered (for a fee + tip) or going to pick it up yourself. To me, that's a convenience not an advantage.

B1GG1N you can obtain them by finding them as you play, but it takes a long time to get a reasonable amount. Whereas, you can easily by a ton in a fraction of the time. Advantage: microtransactions

You can do everything in this game without completing a microtransaction. Even the Turf War warp tokens mentioned in the review can be found lying around on the ground in the Open Courses. Now additional courses (i.e. maps) can be purchased (at the moment there are 2 -- 1 of which was a pre-order bonus), but they are DLC. Perhaps that is splitting hairs, but to me, there is a difference.

Sadly this always been in the case. Hey at least its not as bad the last one, you could buy better clubs and balls than were in the main game :o. They make new courses and sell those to us for extra I don't mind that.

I will never, ever buy a micro transaction. But I'm happy they are in the game as long as the developers make a solid game without it. I don't care if some weirdo wants to spend his real money rather than play the game as long as the game is still fun to actually PLAY, and the the "having" of whatever is for sale isn't the whole crux of the enjoyment of the game.

thedentist888 There are no online tournaments, those are being implemented and we do not know if you will be allowed to bring custom clubs in them.

There are tournaments. They even have a bonus course each day. And I would say people are using custom clubs because I'm seeing -16s on 9 holes. The old ranked tournaments are later. And I would have to imagine them using custom clubs or there would be no point to custom clubs.

thedentist888 Those are not the tournaments they plan to implement. I'm talking about simultaneous tournaments that we saw in the past everybodys golf. Where everyone plays on the course with a given time limit. This is a future update. Hopefully these will be regulated. Custom clubs are RNG so it would be terrible if RNG determined the winners. But seeing how this is a Japanese game, they probably won't care.

thedentist888 Also, I have the 7 currently available courses, so each day I get around 25-30 gems by just driving around the course, and it takes 110 to fully upgrade a custom club, so about 4-5 days for each set. Paying would cut that, but it's no concern of mine.

There's no pay to win mentality. Everything is easily obtained by playing and exploring the courses. I have a bunch of those teleport tokens and paid nothing for them. Also; they're for the least popular and most optional game mode in the game that you can't even get a trophy for playing so spending actual money on those tokens would be a waste. You're usually way too immersed in the actual game to even go and check out the store. I bought every item the store had for sale this month with in-game money after my first 2 days of owning the game so paying actual money would be stupid. There are a few things you can only buy with real money but apart from the teleport tokens they're all purely cosmetic and won't help you win any games.
