So what ifff….. they skip gen 2 n 5 remakes for z to finish gen 6. This is why they did gen 2 n 5 dlc in scarlet n violet. Then gen 10 is announced, Australia but it’s called black and white 3. After u beat it up got back to gen 5 (bw2 landscape) think about it cause dlc in sv is gen 2 n 5 theme so gen 10 is brand new(Australia new starters) but also touches 5 n by doing so makes it like gold n silver gen style having two regions that are close by. America and Australia
@@c0mpu73rguyNah that was a cop-out. The anime has always had pretty separate lore to the games and shoehorning Zygarde's lore into Sun and Moon was out of place. Also, don't use that name that way.
They said "Urban _redevelopment_ " not just urbanization, meaning that they're rebuilding Lumiose City. It could be either in the past with it becoming current day Lumiose or future with completely different Lumiose.
What if it's set both in the past and the future. The trailer has this kind of vibe and i feel like with Scarlet and violet's time paradox stuff this might geniuenly be the case or i am just tripping
Legends was based around People being afraid of Pokemon. If Pokemon were used in a war - resulting in destruction of a city like Lumiose - that would revisit those themes of people fearing Pokemon and the player character again playing a part in reversing that.
@@Xerox_24 it had a lot of ideas it didn’t do anything with. AZ has history but as a character he barely exists, Team Flare had a stronger hold on the Region than it initially appears because an Elite Four member was a supporter, nothing ever came from it. Zygarde is there but never really explained or explored. Legends Z-A might fix some of that because Az is going to be there I’m certain of it, and Zygarde is clearly going to be getting a spotlight
From the pokemon website: "A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon." Im hoping this means there is gonna be some progression in building the city, seeing it grow as we progress through the game, that could be really fun.
bewilders me that you still comment all over this website. i remember NISLT clip of the week videos with you on top comment a decade ago. keep on keepin on brotha. 👍🤣
@@Htiy Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX had them less than 5 years ago, a ton of the mobile apps keep getting them here and there. They never forgot or stopped using them. They just wanted to try different things most likely
I like how our year of the dragon predictions almost led us in the right direction. This game releases in 2025 which will be the year of the snake. Zygarde if I’m not mistaken is based on the serpent Nidhoggr near the world tree’s roots
Don’t forget Xernues is the tree and Yvertal is Odin’s raven! But could they have a relationship to ultra beasts? There are different dimensions, and where do the UBs live? Different dimensions!
Someone on 4chan noted that in SV, it was noted that Larry’s profession was actually in construction, Geeta was sending him to another region, and that Pokemon League logos were sighted in the trailer. Fellas, are we gonna work with Larry?
@@enigmaoffc3148I think it's a prequel. The trailer shows Urban development for Lumiose City which must meant that it is set in the past where Lumiose is just being constructed
@@enigmaoffc3148 it seems to be a misunderstanding. it looks to be the creation of lumiose city (considering the old writing system not used the x and y and the scroll aesthetic
Oh man, I remember watching your videos on mega evolution speculations for ORAS 10 years ago. I can't believe it's been that long and now we're circling back!? I'm so excited rn

A lot of people forget that Mega Evolution was in Let’s Go, but it’s still great to see more Mega Evolution
Don’t forget about the A! Could represent “Zygard-Arceus” Or the backwards Z-A could suggest a past-future theme. I love the part where we all speculate 😂
the top right of the title reveal shows the nintendo switch logo, so i don’t think there will be a switch 2. that being said it could be a placeholder but unlikely
@@onlyoncamera0 umm.. "an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and pokemon", the city is ready, its being redeveloped into a bigger city. its in the future, 1000%.
@@awildmoose6541i disagree. If u pay attention to the trailer the entire hologram its showcasing is of the current lumoise city then at the end it shows an on paper blueprint of what its most likely gonna look like in game. It takes place in the past most likely what another commenter said being the redevelopment of paris in the 1800s
@@awildmoose6541The trailer literally shows you the blueprint for modern day Lumiose City. The game takes place in the past, after the war that ended up with the King(AZ) getting cursed with immortality, but before the events of XY.
"Lumiose City" is Paris. Paris is the "City of Lights", and in French "La ville lumière". Also, I happen to have written this a few months ago about the history of Paris, I am copy / pasting it here if that can be interesting for some of you 🙂 Paris was largely redesigned during the Second Empire (1850s, under Napoléon III) by a prefect named Haussmann : large avenues like rue de Rivoli and Avenue de l'Opéra and most of the "Grands Boulevards" were created (erasing mazes of small streets and thousands of houses & buildings), an immense iron-structured covered marketplace was created (Halles Baltard that were in turn demolished in the 1960s), more housing were destructed at the outer limits of Paris (merely shantytowns) to build a gigantic wall to prevent invasion (called in French "les fortifications", which were also in turn demolished to create the ring road called "le périphérique"), the water supply and sewer systems were both completely rebuilt, the creation of the "Buttes-Chaumont" park, the standardization of the new buildings' facades, etc.
It's probably post-war Kalos. Lumiose and surrounding parts might be the only explorable part or it's the Main Hub like Legends Arceus where in expanding the Jubilife village becomes the main focus in Z-A. But the wording specify only Lumiose City.
I find it interesting that in Pokémon GO, the researchers task where you get Zygarde is called “From A to Zygarde”. Now the new game is called “Z to A” (Z-A).
Or it's just because A is the first alphabet and Z the last. From A to Z is a saying (from the beginning to the end) and Zygarde is the "Z" Pokémon. I don't think it's that deep (niantic doesn't know shit)
I've also heard some people theorizing that the game might be set in the past and future/present. The title "Z to A" and the going from an older art style (and aspect ratio) to a modern one points in that direction. Also, it looks like both Pokemon Legends games take place at pretty similar times, miid 1800ish. In Legends Arceus it looks like the early Meii period, where Japan started to industrialize and move away from smaller villages. In France, industrialization moved slower due to a lack of iron, but by mid to late 1800's Paris under went redevelopment (like lumiose in the trailer)
I'm a BIG fan of the time travel theory, for a couple of reasons. I think one of the biggest indicators that this might be true is the mention of the game taking place "entirely" in Lumiose city. While I'd be fully on board with a urban Pokémon game, I think it's a little too bold for Pokémon and especially its fans. I think we're going to time travel anywhere between the time when Lumiose barely even existed, through centuries or even millennia of its development, and end up in the future where the previously completely wild area is now entirely urbanised. And I also think this is going to be the driving force with introducing Zygarde to the player. Hell, even the trailer seems to have both old-timey and futuristic aesthetics. That being said, I'd love it if the game took place entirely in the future, where Lumiose had expanded to cover most if not all of Kalos. There are endless possibilities with artificial environments and how that would affect the natural ecosystems and by extension, Zygarde.
DUDES, I REMEMBER ALL THE THEORIES THAT THE SV DLC’S WOULD TAKE US TO KALOS, MAYBE THAT BLANKED OUT AREA ON THE PALDEA MAP WAS A HINT TOWARDS KALOS GAMES AFTER ALL
Gen 6 has always had a special place in my heart dude so for it to finally get the love and attention it deserves just makes me happy.. :,) So many good memories - watching young Ttar make tutorials with his cute high pitched voice :D Kalos just has something special or something like it has such a cozy ambiance! XY and ORAS was just.. great :)
From the very limited amount of info we have, the game appears to be about some kind of reconstruction of Lumiose City. It could be based on the reconstruction of Paris under Napoleon III which happened from 1853 to 1870. This gave the city the famous look it has today.
What's interesting to me are the textures on the Z and A. The Z has cells like Zygarde, but the A has a texture resembling something like plantlife or dragon scales, which could represent growth or Rayquaza, as Mega Rayquaza canonically is the first mega. It's also very interesting how the southern leg of the Z extends into the A like: 1. Replacing the bridge of the A, and 2. A pin through the eye of a needle. Meanwhile, the hyphen sticks halfway outside of the envelope (the general shape of the design), parallel to the leg of the Z. This could just symbolize the flow of time, as Z-A could represent a flow from the end to the beginning, or more succinctly, a visit to the past.
The A is certainly the most interesting part of the design as its lack of oblique movement comparative to the Z and hyphen as well as the different hues and textures creates visual weight on the A, emphasizing that it's the most important element to the design. I think if we find out what the A symbolizes, we can have a much more detailed idea of the direction of this game.
The A also has serifs, while the Z is sans serif. Serifs are typically used to represent something old or mystical. In this case, probably the former. Sans serif is used in very modern-age typefaces, so the Z is certainly looking like it has strong ties to the future while the A has ties to the past. Maybe the texture of the A is both plantlife and dragon scales, implyinf a tie to both the past and the origin of mega evolution with Rayquaza.
Last thing I want to say is the hexagonal cells of the Z resembles a style of urban planning, where cities are designed in hexagons rather than grid. Hexagon style urban planning is great for common areas (i.e. a main city of a small-medium-sixed country), while the grid structure is American and designed for interstate travel and electric power. I'll probably send a theory email with this copy-pasted so it's in one place.
i figured the A was meant to be AZ's weapon. its tall and pointy shaped and has a curved design on the bottom (not the same design but maybe its been stylised in the logo)
That scaled green "A" shone like an emerald when it showed up, and looks too tall and thin to be an A, so it looks more like a Delta for Rayquaza to me. I have a whole comment about it.
3:08 that is honestly a good point: it always felt weird to me after the first game that your character is just left in past Sinnoh/Hisui after accomplishing all these great things. Especially considering you play as like a 15 yr old kid lmao your parents back in current era would probably freak out wondering what happened to you It may not end up being the same character or even a character taken from the present and jettisoned into the past or future, but I like the idea that that same person sent back to Hisui continues to travel (even through time itself) to assist in other developments of the Pokémon world
@@Paldea07 chances are it won't be the same person anyway, Pokémon's not really known for doing continuity like that. Closest was with B2/W2 referencing the protags of Black and White, and ig Ultra Sun/Moon are _technically_ the same kids from Sun and Moon, but in an alternate universe because ultra beasts. But that's largely it
@@spectre8701 Capital A, and the A has a distinct pattern showing the As significance. Not sure what the As significance will be, whether it is a new Pokémon, Arceus, or nothing to do with Pokémon but mechanic or evil team.
man I've been losing faith in pokemon company and loosing that love I had for pokemon, but following along your videos you officially helped get hyped again for what's to come.
Did I know literally everything you mentioned? Yes. Did I still watch the video because I love your enthusiasm for my fav region getting a remake in the style of my fav pokemon game? Hell yes
I just realized: probably out there but z is the first letter of Zygarde, duh, but A is the first letter of Arceus, so while it might not be catchable, Arceus could still be a part of the story. PLA had the main character travle back in time with an Arc phone, so it might not be _that_ far fetched.
It makes sense that we’re going back to Kalos, the aura trio wasn’t in SV and I always thought that was weird. I’m glad we get to see some new megas at least. I just know know how to feel if it’s only contained in the city tho.
The Pokémon website mentioned that the adventure takes place within Lumiose City. I wonder if we'll be able to travel to other areas/cities like we did in PLA.
The way I read Z-A is that Z is the end of the alphabet, and A is the beginning. This reads to me that the game will be about new beginnings after an end, so like a fresh start This has a deeper meaning when you think about Xerneas being about breathing new life, and Yveltal about taking life
I’m so happy with this. Kalos was the first Pokémon game I played, so getting to revisit it and go back to it is going to be great. But also I have to finish the game now, but also that’s a good thing. Let’s go!!!
I honestly was a little surprised that we didn't get a Pokemon Legends for Unova, but I understand why. This is due to the past of the area that Unova is based on compared to Sinnoh and Kalos. Many of the people currently living in that area are from other countries or born from people from other countries, so it would be really hard to put in ancestors of the characters from the Unova games. And that ends my TEDtalk. Sorry if I'm wrong.
I think it may involve going between the past and future. The opening with old architectural drawings could represent past. While the wire graphics look futuristic. It works on the ZA where Z is end (future) and A is beginning (past). The paradox mons could play a role in this as they are also past and future. Though I don’t think it’s like 1000 years in future and past
I never got any pokemon games after red, blue, yellow, until i was able to buy the 3ds for myself, and X&Y was my first return to the series so this tickles a special spot for me.
WERE BACK BABYYY. I’m so ready for this. It feels surreal. Also the fact they chose to reveal it 2 years in advance tells me they want us to get hyped.
7:30 Using 'Gimmicks' is strange to me, as, yes, this is when Megas, Z-moves, Gigantamax and Tera started. However, weren't the original 'Gimmicks' what the professors in each region were researching? E.g. Eggs in gen two and baby Pokémon, Distribution of Pokémon in gen 3, Evolution for Rowan and origins for Juniper in gen 5. Then it proceeds to; Sycamore - Mega, Burnet (and a little bit of Kukui) - Ultra Space/wormholes, Magnolia - Dynamax and Sada & Turo - Paradox Pokémon. So 'Gimmicks' have always been around in my mind, but is this the Gen (Gen 6) that made them a specific storyline for the games??
6:33 I wonder if it's going to be a similar situation to Hisui where the humans don't trust pokemon. I haven't played Arceus in a while, but in the mini-series Hisuian Snow, we definitely see that. I'm curious if that'll be apart of the game or not.
The switch OLED is pretty much a switch pro so the switch 2 is probably sharing more similarities to the concept of the wii u being an improved version
Z through A, its a time travel game where you can go through to both the future and past as seen by the urbanizing plan you can change the future plans from the past and see those changes in the future
Kalos will finally get the lore we missed years ago...megas are back...such a good day man...seems we will explore the years after az machine destroyed everything
I'm very excited to play this! I haven't played X and Y ever but from the gameplay it is my favorite game and the megas, hopefully Zygarde's lore is expanded upon, Unowns and more megas we never got in the old games. Can't wait for 2025!
I’m so happy we’re going back to Kalos as Pokemon X and Y was my introduction to the Pokemon series games as a whole. So for me at least Gen 6 was and will always be my favorite. So going back to see presumably an old Kalos makes me gitty. Hopefully we get to explore the southern part of Kalos since we didn’t on X and Y.
But for here’s what I’m thinking time placement for Pokemon Z. I’m thinking that Pokemon Z takes place a few 100 years after AZ used the Ultimate Weapon to end the war. Now the people of Kalos are instating the urban redevelopment plan to help rebuild what was old Lumiose City into current day Lumiose City.
for pokemon Z-A; if you look closely at the A design, it show a little hint of the new legendary may look like. and for when they show us the place in CGI as Pikachu was running and the place is only Lumiose City ground with battle that can be seen on the open area might mean players online can see and playing with eachother throughout the world. That mean they will have a lot more player you can play with. Also, when you look closely of the peoples in the game are mostly trainer that are player might interpret as you are going to play with more the 4 player as I believe that 60% of the population in this game might be players. This are what I'm getting from the trailer.
This is so interesting to see! Paris underwent a renovation in the 19th century, so I’m wondering if that’s the time period we will be exploring in this nee game 🤔.
I’m amazed that showing the Kalos region in the Paldea map was there the whole time and we never considered it was teasing a game rather than a possible DLC into Kalos!
Okay so we're likely going to have to collect all 100 Zygarde cells like we had to gather all the plates for Arceus in order to truly beat the game though collecting 10 or 50 of them also will likely trigger something as well. With that in mind this is likely going to be an expansive game that covers a large part of the region around Lumiose city. since those cells are going to be spread out, though it could be like the wisps from PLA. It is also very possible/likely that AZ will be our Volo in this game. Furthermore it is also possible/probably that mega evolutions will be the state in which you fight the "guardian/warden" Pokemon in akin to the frenzied state that "guardian/warden" pokemon in PLA are in when you fight them. As far as the time period that this is in. It is probable that it will be after the War where AZ used the ultimate weapon as this redevelopment sounds like what would happen after the war similar to how much of Western Europe redeveloped after WW2.
ive been playing pokemon since gen 1, and im pretty happy about them taking the time they need for a game that is actually already mechanically better than gen 9
I just noticed the A silhouette kinda looks like AZ with the bottom part looking like his legs and the top part looking like the silhouette of his head+hair. I don’t know if I’m just tripping but that’s just so cool to me lol
i kinda think of the name as starting over. Like A-Z meaning going from start to finish, but Z-A could mean starting over which would make sense since they’re revisiting Kalos
I’m so Fucking excited!!!!!!!!! Holy shit! I feel like no one saw this coming I mean we kinda did but everyone thought they were gonna do legends in unova or johto next but Kalos Legends Z!!!! It looks so good and it looks like it also looks like we’ll be getting more Megan’s which is so amazing!!!! I’m so hype!!!!
Something that i havent heard being talked about yet is that theres a very likely chance that AZ's Floette might finally be usable in this game somehow. Just a thought tho. Also hoping for mega flygon and potential starter megas
We know the generation for the starters to, considering that gen 6 is out gen 1 and 3 have megas, that leaves 6 which we can knock out to 3 cause gen 2,5,7 were Pla starters that leaves gens 4,8,9 which makes sense considering if galar and paldea are at war with kalos, and if we the player go from hisuian to the past kalos
I love mega evolution I can’t wait to see how sick these pokemon gonna look in this new game and I can’t wait to see their creativity with these new mega’s
I think we can expect piplup to be the water starter since empoleon is based on napoleon. Which goes back to the trio that was teased in the indigo disk trailer
