Krimreeper Believe it! 55k and counting! stock block so keeping lowish torque which I think helps a lot and it’s daily driven with a good amount of highway cruising.... and only around 5 launches. She gone soon

I doubt doubt its holding, just alittle odd for a factory clutch to hold so well. Launches and abuse would kill it quick smart thou.

Krimreeper Be super surprised but no reason to doubt. Stock Exedy clutch is stronger then you think if it’s not launched and abused to death. Everybody says they can’t believe it and I really can’t believe it’s made it as far as it has but Follow xtra_slo on Instagram to see the car from day 1 to now and it’s the original day one clutch. I’ll be taking pictures and posting when it finally gets replaced.

Been watching your stuff for about a year. Love the car. Im currently in the build process myself. I also have a wicked white evo x. Mine is on bags. Have everything for e85 already. Looking at cam and valves, studs and turbos currently. Stock bottom end.

Tony Wade a local friend just made 381whp a couple months back on his stock turbo set up. It took catback exhaust, test pipe, intake, 3port boost controller , 1000cc injectors and a 450 walbor fuel pump, Pump gas E85 and most important a great pro tuner. I highly recommend Chris Carbee ( Slowpoke tuning ) pricing all depends what which parts you go with but that’s the proven set up

Like your build. I have a 14 evo, did clutch, cams,1000cc, pump, upgrade turbo (dont know size) from AMS, barely made 420 on pump gas 26psi. I've always wanted 600 stock block but people are discouraging the thought. They are saying I should build the block first. It's just frustrating. I'm now doing more head work and going E85. Keeping fingers crossed

Itachlazcano21 you will buy the licensing to the program that allows you to tune flex fuel which in the program gives you the option for spark cut. I believe it’s called Tephra? Which again is needed to tune flex fuel. Your tuner should know all about it

Joe Mazzurco no didn’t change it to the billet. I’ve heard the same but no issues so far. Possibly do it when it’s apart when building the block. Only if driven fab is EVER not sold out

Im very suprised, must be a dynojet with bossted numbers not a mustang dyno! I have a 2.2L ams block with ams 750x turbo kit, ams intercooler and everything else and I did 509whp on a mustang dyno... maybe its because my tune is on 94 octane..

dereck harlow I’ve been daily driving this car straight threw all stages so far! Bought new, did bolt on’s, retune 336whp. Then turbo kit with a slightly smaller turbo then currently (6266)100% stock motor did 545whp. Now head built and a different turbo to make 614wheel. Stock block getting built is next in plans we can turn it up to real boost! I might make a more detailed vlog showing all parts from day one to now,dyno,+. Only time it was not driven was while the head work got done and when we’re waiting for tunes in between.

Richard Knight I am protuned on the stock ecu by Chris Carbee of Slowpoke tuning. I’d suggest making the switch from Cobb a Pro tune.

Diego Porres Rebuilding the motor would be a great idea for supporting a big turbo set up. I’d suggest upgrading the pistons and rods during the rebuild and atleast doing valve springs and retainers im the head. If your already buying the parts and rebuilding it might as well upgrade those so you can make some good power with the future set up 👍🏼

Itachlazcano21 “safe” is a loose word for any high horse power car but YES~ torque is what’s gonna kill that motor and with the bigger turbo set up your able to make over 500+whp while maintaining the torque under 400 wtq since it’s not spooling so quick and hard as the baby turbo. Under 400 tq is kinda known as the “safe zone”. With a good tuner using torque control it should live for a while. I’m almost 2 years in over 500+ Chris Carbee tuned (Slowpoke tuning)

Diego Porres that’s a very obtainable goal. I’d suggest going e85 with a flex kit or dual map which will help make more, safer power and use a well known reputable tuner. I use Chris carbee (Slowpoke tuning) my buddy just used him and made 381whp with intake, exhaust, testpipe, boost controller and e85. To support the e85 he used a walbor 450 pump and 1000cc injectors

I got a 2009 EVO X MR at 390 whp with 68 thousand miles on it. The engine is completely stock, so is the turbo but its got a sport intake from COBB, a three inch downpipe, cat delete, and HKS catback. I got an ECU tune to run about 24 pounds of boost. That will give you around 390 whp and won't blow up your engine.

Did U take the restricter pill out of the slave cylinder? Do u launch the car? Smoked my clutch on 340awhp because of that dump pill 🤣. Went with exedy twin, spins all 4 on the launch, car is good now

Eric Blanchard No I still haven’t deleted the pill and honestly never had an issue or feeling I needing to. I’ve launched the car a hand full of times and had a million high revving racing slamming gears and my first original oem clutch lasted me 63k miles, 5 tunes and made over 600whp and didn’t start slipping but rather was replaced because the pressure plate ring popped off and needed the Monolock collar upgrade done. Some people burn those clutches up stock power and under 15k miles 🤣

Nice setup. The walbro fuel pump - is it noisy during operation relative to the oem? I've been using a deatschwerks 300c pump but it failed in 5 months. I had a perception that the walbro's were good pumps but a little loud.

Ian Johnson I have had the walbor 450 for over a year and a half with zero issues. That being said the pump is in tank and is as quiet as the stock one.

@@xtra_slo1596 - ok; will give the walbro unit a try. The turbo install on yours is a total beast. Went safe - stock frame mhi 18k turbo, ball bearing version, but limits at 500, 520 at a push. Given the engines are decked out similar in a similar fashion I might have fuk'd up and should have gone bigger. Have you changed brakes/suspension? Ohlins do a brilliant set of coilovers.. whiteline sway bars are a must given the modest outlay. Alcon brakes are night and day compared to the shite oem brakes.

DKLONGHORN I’ve been running mine with over 500whp for two years now on a stock bottom end. A great tuner and torque management keeping it under 400wtq will help the longevity

Michael Hasselbring anything past 3500 rpm you have 10+ psi and by the time that gets kicking you are in it! That turbo is barley being teased right now with boost.

Reaper STI Thanks man 👍🏼 Yea stock trans should take the power well, especially with almost all roll racing. My stock original clutch just lasted 63k miles

Reaper STI my 4” is specific to the sidewinder turbo kit I have. Ets also sells some larger ones that I’d check out on their website 🤜🏼

What causes hesitation om low end up to 3500 rpm.. idles ok but as soon as you press the gas it goes down.

As described in the video it usually has the 4” intake on it which has a MAF and is tuned. Without it it would not drive unless I converted to speed density

Braian Evolution X yes you need to relocate the battery terminal, relocate the boostcontroller, reroute the heater hose lines for the heat and wrap and heat shield anything in the line of fire.

Braian Evolution X A video with it installed already would be a confusing explanation and not really show “how to”.
