I really like how most of the dlc characters brought something new to the game, Sins stamina bar and food, Bridget’s yo-yo mechanics, and Happy Chaos’ ability to make you stop playing
It's pretty clear that Bridget got a *lot* more skilled in the intervening time. A lot of her moves are visually more elaborate, and there's no more tripping or catching her clothes on her weapon. Truly, a skilled bounty hunter.
@@stevencabrera4422 Deal with it, it's canon. Besides that, I get the feeling the GG devs had *always* intended for this to be Bridget's arc...Mainly through her personal word choices to herself in private (which are more distinctly female pronouns in the game's native Japanese). It definitely reads like a trans individual hiding their gender from others. They've always gone for more progressive themes for a lot of their characters, and you can see that as early as the first GG game with Testament, who was always portrayed as some degree of Non-binary.
@@alexpineda5960 1: Word of God has confirmed it. It's not conjecture in the slightest. 2: It's not out of context at all. In fact, the context only makes it clearer. 3: Since when were bad endings even a thing in Strive? 4: You're new here, aren'cha?
@@crossbowgang1689 Bridget quite literally says in game in one of the endings to arcade mode (which are all canon there is no "bad ending") "cowgirl is fine, because. I'm a girl!!"
This is some absolutely joyful animation! I love the subtle changes in appeal and posing that better convey both the kinesthesia of what she's doing and her (matured, more confident) personality.
I love how this implies Bridget got better at her yo yo skills. She makes for less mistakes and skills she did that required her to focus, are now things she can do with little effort.
The moves have a more confident feminine flair with even more cuteness this time 😍 The Roger hug and moe gun is too adorable! I will miss some shots like the backflips or the handstand yoyo strike.
Bridget is so cute!!! I love how she went from clumsy to flipping all over the screen. I’ve been watching a lot of play through a of the older Guilty Gear games and I’d say Bridget really keeps a top 5 spot of favorites. Testament will always be #1 as my introduction to the series but that doesn’t mean I can’t have other favs.
@@Johnny_Cage_H You're the one being toxic here. You started throwing a tantrum about how character development is a retcon when you don't like and insulted others.
I wish new Bridget had more voice lines in combat like old Bridget, but maybe Strive characters are just quieter overall? I mainly just miss ABUNAI DESU YO haha.
Strive is overall more grounded than the older titles. No more ear bleeding from the same hit voice lines over and over, less "anime" stuff. I prefer the newer direction honestly; the old voice lines annoy me to death.
Massively agree always felt very uncomfortable seeing Bridget back in the day because of how clearly young he was and how much he was objectified. Now she just gets to be cute and do cool yoyo tricks :)
I'm fine with Bridget's new design but it would have been better if they kept May's old design. It gave a more pirate feeling than that jacket she's wearing.
Well, there also was the XX spinoffs and the pachinko, but they totally benched her in Xrd probably to avoid having to remake the yoyo Animations, (apparently bridget took twice as many frames as other characters in XX)
this is the ONLY series where i like the 3d version better than the sprite version. and that's saying something since this series has some of the best spritework.
@@nikhilsilva5244 cope more. How are you saying this shit TODAY, when the people that made the game literally said: "So, as to whether "he" or "she" would be the correct pronoun for Bridget, the answer would be "she".
@@nikhilsilva5244 lol no, they even said, that because you people kept complaining the she was a he, they decided to finally "confirm" that she is she. But yeah, because you transphobes were whining and making a scene, they oficially said it.
