Don't feel bad at all. After I lost my job because I became disabled, I still had to pay the same child support as when I was making $70k a year back in 2010. Only difference is was I getting $1200 a month for disability and I couldn't get my $70k a year job back and if I didn't pay my child support, I would have been put in jail. Of course I tried to get my child support lowered, but I couldn't afford a lawyer because I was making.... $1200 a month on disability. Is a crooked world we live in.

The judge explained at the ending of the episode that under Texas law, if you intentionally left your job to make less $ to pay child support (plus the mom admitted she left so she wouldn't pay as much), they're going to go based on what they previously made which I think is fair. Mom tried to manipulate the court & the judge, she definitely didn't deserve to get her child support down

Some people are saying who the judge is to tell mom where to work (because of her stress). Listen, I work as a nurse 12 hours 3 days a week shift This job is stressful. However, it's a career you can find a lighter duty job, and you can make a decent living. Working at McDonald's would not cut for me or my child. I'm not dissing people who work at McDonald's, but if you are able bodied and you can earn more money via experience and education, I love the dough. If you found the job too stressful, you could look for a position with similar pay She dived in a pool without water.

People purposely do that so they don’t have to pay child support just to spite the parent with the child. Many work under the table and get thrown in jail for not paying, have to pay a lump sum that someone brings to get them out, they are let out, and they do it all again. I will be getting BACK child support of $216 a month til my 23 y/o is 29. I’d get more if he was working. He’s disabled now. I’m glad for whatever I get.

WANNA HEAR SOME BULLSHIT DAD TREATMENT? I’m an only parent (Father) to a little girl cause her mom had her with me 6 days a week because she was working as a hair stylist, while Going to college, and making money doing hair and nails on the side un taxed ofc. TBF she wasn’t the one who asked for support from me it was her MOTHER since she told her she would have to move out unless she got some kind of child support from me because her mom knew if the courts saw she was collecting welfare she’d win the child support, too bad I had receipts for EVERYTHING including her telling me all about the money she was making, and her telling me her mom was making her do this and she just wanted to come home and I said no cause I was still mad at her (something I regret to this day) either way when we went to court I didn’t have to say half of it cause instead after the judge heard I had our daughter 6 days& nights a week except for Sunday to Monday morning and her mom made her ask the judge not only to RAISE support (oh yeah I was already paying her a very small amount from when we first split up,) he read the situation with where the kid was and laughed out loud and immediately started tearing her down in court like you must be out of your mind to think I’m going to rip this little girl from the only true person she knows as a the one she can count on day in and day out and lookin there it says you’re collecting welfare for your child as well? WHY?!? WHY ARE YOU COLLECTING WELFARE FOR THAT CHILD WHEN SHES BEING TAKEN CARE OF AND WATCHED BY HER FATHER? Do you know that’s fraud? Do you know you could be arrested for this? And at the point I had an option I could either reveal then she was working the whole time making more than enough and she most likely would have been arrested but instead of that I asked the judge if JUST her I could go into the mediation chamber and discuss things between the two of us and the mediator and he said yes and when her mother got up to follow and then my mom got up after her he yelled audibly to SIT DOWN THIS IS NOT YOUR CHILD MRS BABY MOTHER MOM, and my mom sat down right away and the judge looked over at her. And just said “I’m. Sorry ma’am you have been more than lovely and I understand you started to follow HER and not your son. And her mom started yelling back and before she could even say “YA KNOW WHAT?” The judge Replied IF YOU CONTINUE TO SPEAK WITHOUT BEING SPOKEN TO YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE COURT ROOM, if you make an outburst I WILL HOLD YOU IN CONTEMPT AND THROW YOU IN THE COUNTY JAIL! 😂 either way we agreed on half and half 3 days one week four days the next and vice versa and she ended my child support and I didn’t need it from her esp if she was going to have her 1/2 the week, tragically before long we moved in and then fought again over bullshit and she moved back in with her B/S mother and shortly after one night she had our daughter she asked if she could come home and she loved me and I said no again that Emma of course could but I was still mad ( 😔 she overdosed that weekend, after never having used drugs like that ever before alone in her room at her moms [as far as we know, but it wasn’t my house] thank god our little girl was with me, but I wish I let her come home and get away from her mother… I should have known better. I’ll never truly forgive myself, even though I loved and still do love her and I was “mad” at her that didn’t matter I should have helped her and let her come stay over because she was my daughters mother 😢.
