Exploring Earth's Forgotten Landmarks in Starfield

Wish they used a actual iconic London Landmark instead of that glass monstrosity

It's so perfectly Bethesda to have a landmark that's one building in a huge city and make it so the building is completely alone in a vast empty desert, as if not one other building in LONDON survived

There are 11 quests. There's Cairo, London, New York, LA, Hong Kong, St. Louis, Osaka, Shanghai, Apollo, Dubai, and a second quest for London labeled as Oppurtunity.

Would be hilarious if you could find a large, cog shaped door half buried in sand with the number 101 on it. 😉

This is probably the most haunting version of earth I’ve seen in media, it’s just so... empty. It’s like the mad max game when you enter the dunes at the top right of the map

How is everything a featureless flat wasteland but somehow the Empire State Building is not only still there, but almost completely intact?

It would be cool if we founded remnants of vaults and vault-tec

There is another snow globe on the Apollo landing site on the moon. The book for the landmark can be found on constellation HQ. Also there is another book for the empire state building landmark.

Of all the historical locations in the UK let alone London they chose the Shard? Not even the obvious choices like Big Ben or tower bridge? Maybe they added more and we’re yet to discover them 🤞🏻. I’m hoping to see a remnant of a castle (Windsor/Edinburgh) would be cool to build a base there

I understand that its an impossible task to do at such scale but i find it hard to suspend my disbelief that there arent more ruins, especially with the shard, cause london as a ton of buildings. I would have liked if for example they made building ruins part of a procedural generation system, even if they were just the tops peeking out of the sand

ngl i seriously would love to find a way that there is a quest under the sand on earth, someplace small or big or random places where you could find something and it look like a a place stopped and lost in time. That is the dream

I like reading, so things like this MOTIVATES ME to collect ANY books that I can find when I'm out and about once I finally play Starfield. Yeah, I'm NOT a day one buyer/player. Hopefully I can play this game sometime next year...

I don't think they spawn until you get those quests, as I landed where London should be and this was nowhere to be found

So, when the Shard was being built, the constructions came across a little fox peacefully sleeping on one of the floors. They didn’t disturb the tiny thing and continued construction. If you visit the Shard today, you can find the little fox’s soft toy 🦊 named ‘Romeo’.

most of the Books are random drops you come across, I was watching someones playthrough where they found Oliver Twist in the introductory dungeon on Kreet.

not gonna lie. The raiders from fallout 4 had more charm than the pirates in starfield. I would prefer the pirates saying "never should have come here!" to the bland "ill get you" with no emotion or passion, whatsoever.

Collectible souviner snow globes that portray pre destroyed landmarks of a once inhabited region? This collectible type sounds exactly like the Snow Globes from Fallout New Vegas. You heard it here first, Obsidian Entertainment will be making the next Fallout title now that Microsoft owns Zenimax, and this easter egg is the first "announcement".

My question is, if literally everything else is gone, why would these 3 landmarks remain? Wouldn’t everything be gone?

Im honestly disappointed that there's not an Ozymandias reference. On a related note, I hate this way of handling pre-built points of interest. What point is there to explore if I'm not going to find anything interesting unless I've found the designated landing site first...

I don’t get how earth it just sand in like 200 hundred years like real? There’s not even anything besides a couple landmarks. Like I doubt that the land scrape would change that drastically in just a couple hundred years. I think there would at least be ruins everywhere but not just sand

I found the Shanghai landmark location by reading the book "Essentials of Modern Macroeconomics."

Makes sense as London and the UK are the centre of the earth.

these locations should straight up be locate-able without triggering them though. Hopefully modders make that so, choice is everything in a game like this. We should be able to find these locations whether or not we do the quests.. i know it's mostly limitations with the random gen tech, but what a pathetic excuse when Earth is the first place players will go to, and literally find nothing unless they initially triggered it.

It sucks that it takes books to create the existence of these landmarks and it cant be found by just stumbling across it. A testament to how starfield doesn't actually have planets. Just seed maps that generate certain resources that are not even contiguous. It's all an illusion.
