i'm concerned about how these sketches are just accepted as aimed at kids yet almost always about cheating or sex. not to mention the casual murder, rape, and abundant sexism used as 'punchlines.'
Pretty sure I saw a cameo by teen pop sensation Eddy Zurback though. Doesn't really have anything to do with Eddy Burback, not sure why I commented tbh
The fact that it's for kids is..just horrible. They might as well set up a category called "rape comedy" or "abuse comedy", I feel like everyone is being way to nice about this shit.
In almost all of these videos, even ones made by women, the girls are always just sexual objects with no value as individual human beings like the girls don't stand up for themselves, they don't get to choose who they date, they get "stolen" and they do things that they clearly don't want to do just to please the men in the videos. So rare that you get an instagram sketch with a healthy relationship. It just makes me appreciate good and pure comedians like Thomas Sanders so much more.
I really don’t want to use the term “rape culture” because I really don’t want to be that person, but all of these are about being violently entitled to a woman’s body, and two of them to the point of ACTUAL murder. I honestly don’t get what’s funny about that.
MsFicticious Rape culture is not some 20 year olds making dumb jokes about it in videos. Rape culture is when women can get raped as punishment, and the person who did it gets away with it, and when most people don't see anything wrong with it.
Jennu xs I agree with you, but I personally do think that it is a part of rape culture in the same sense that a tasteless joke at the expense of all black people is part of and the product of growing up in a racist society. I used this term because as whiny and tumblr-y as it sounds, these “jokes” are a result of and part of a society that treats women like sexual objects that men have a right to obtain. Not saying that everything is rape culture or that all men are like that, but I think this is a pretty big slap in the face to women who are trying to be comfortable in and own their sexuality.
@@EternalSunshine4570 The feminists do have a point, the term ”rape culture” is kind of an exaggeration, its more like a culture where most men hate and are rape minded towards women, but because the West isnt like Saudi Arabia or some other similar place, where women are property, they have to act nice and pretend theyre someone theyre not when interacting with them, all the while thinking about tricking them into sex.
12:20 Amanda and Lele probably didn't mean it like this, but their video also encourages sexualisation of lesbian couples and causes a weird portrayal of same-sex couples- especially if their content is aimed toward children this can be really destructive!

It's not homophobic. It wouldn't be homophobic to say, "Two straight women will not be sexually attracted to each other." That's really all that their vid was portraying.
Did you ever notice that all Instagram comedians only have access to 10 different sound effects. They also feel obligated to use at least 5 in each videos
Vine stars on YT/IG are like thinking someone you share the subway to work with is cute. Its great for six seconds at a time but you'd be disgusted if you ever saw them in real life because they let their dog lick then on the mouth

You should make a series where you take concepts from bad Instagram comedy videos, and remake them way better to show people who say "well it's comedy..." how bad these videos are haha. Like show the original video and then the remade, better one. Wait, that would probably violate some copyright thing or something. Damn, I would love to see something like that.

It always catches me off guard when someone references "Seasons" of SpongeBob... never watched it as a structured show, so I guess my subconscience just assumed it didn't have the same season-based structure.

Every time I look at your subscriber count, I’m always shocked to see that you’re under a million. Or even under 500k. Because to me, you’re one of the big dogs, and you so deserve a million subs.
