The duck with the ever expanding neck was not actually a joke SCP. You can tell because it did not have a -j at the end of the number. It was a 100% canon (as close as can be in the SCP universe anyway), 100% serious SCP. Not all humorous SCPs are joke SCPs, sometimes the universe just decides "Fuck it! I am going to make a duck expand its neck to deliver a notice about someone's warranty, and you cannot stop me!" and the Foundation has to deal with the effects of that.

SCP-914 has one of those as well. Researcher Darby. Like, the thing straight up made a spray can labled "Dar-be-gone" that erased him from existence and then made a Darby regeneration chamber that brought him back so it could play with him more. only for us all to find out he's been stuck, completely unable to interact with reality despite seeing it all and having to deal with its laws. He spent months stuck alone watching them with no one to talk to. Plus the other hundred times it's tried to kill him. Like making him the main target of several containment breaches, or when it erased the memories of his existence from most of the site's staff so he'd be transferred back to deal with it again. One of my personal favorites was an anomalous floating object that flies directly towards him and rapidly gains momentum.... while at crotch height. Imagine having a hunter killer drone after you that only goes for the balls.

The one with the duck that offered car insurance renewal is a mainlist so while it is of a comedy genre it not actually a "joke" scp joke scp have the suffix -j attached to their number and is found in the joke scp section

putting SCPs in the "joke " category is one of the worst thing ever done to SCPs and generally where the initial golden age for them ended. IT just takes away the usual seriousness when you outright label them as "joke" when some of the best SCPs have often been silly and horrifying things presented with utter seriousness
