Im not sure exactly what year the trucks were I was working on I think they were newer than blue steel but it doesn't matter if you could get to that bolt they did leave a little hole in the foam on the 2 I repaired to get to the bolt you can get the bolt out the whole fender from top to bottom is foamed to the a-pillar

Well its the age of swapping is cheaper than fixing, thats why everyone is doing it. That hood new is $1000 dollars, to fix it took 8 to 10 hours at $100 dollars per hour + supplies. Not to mention, those 10 hours could of been spent doing something else, more productive and profiitable than breaking even.
@RecBuddha
@RecBuddha 11 месяцев назад
@@somedude0505 Yep. It's cool to see the process and makes for good content, but I have to imagine with the hours it took 2 guys to do this (working past midnight plus more in the morning) that it is just cheaper nowadays to buy a new part, swap it, and paint match. Also then you have a nice, new piece of metal not filled with bondo.

I genuinely enjoy watching Robby work, I'm a 36 year Towing professional & company owner, so i enjoy all the channels & their recoveries, Robby is getting into them too, which is great, him taking time to explain & demonstrate as he goes is both fascinating & entertaining. In this day & age, everyone just seems to wanna remove a part & replace with a new one & don't have the skill or expertise or patience to repair. For as young as Robby is, he's such a skilled professional...I'm happy for his continued success! I never in my life thought I'd enjoy an hour video of body work repairs.. but starting with the Banana reconstruction & the MORRvair, Golden Nugget & Blue steel...It's actually fascinating watching him explain & demonstrate... not just cut away & suddenly it's done off camera... Even showcasing the tools is interesting.... Looking forward to more videos... wishing continued success to Robby!

My dad and his brother had body shop started in 1946. He used lead all the way up to mid '70's. He retired after a dispute with Royal Pontiac dealer brought three cars that were made into convertibles when the car carrier went under the railroad bridge. My dad refused to repair the cars and have them sold as new as he found the dealer had done prior with the other body shop in town. He retired and was bought out by his brother after brother agreed to fix the three Pontiacs. My dad worked in his backyard garage until his late 80s mostly on antique and collectable vintage vehicles. He showed me all I know to do my own only work. Never wanted me to make body work for profession, so went into USGov law enforcement. Presently redoing my 1965 Ford F-350 flatbed wood.

He resisted hose piping the camera following Robby's every move - something too many RU-vid channels do causing the viewers motion sickness. He had good angles, and managed what every camera man should strive to do, and that's making thew viewer forget there is someone holding the camera. I suppose body repair is like carpentry. My dad was a union carpenter his whole life. He said, " Rough / framing carpenter's are a dime a dozen, but a good finishing carpenter is hard to find". From my experience and the little auto body work I have done, seen and most importantly had done, Robby is just like a finishing carpenter. Nice work and video. Keep'em coming!

Robby, I've watched quite a few RU-vidrs doing bodywork over the years, but you really explained a LOT about what goes into metal work in this Blue Steel repair. Thanks for showing the rest of us who will probably never do the bodywork ourselves, what we are paying somebody else to do for us.

Thank you for doing the body work instead of replacing the part. It's a big encouragement for those of us with more time than money.

I enjoy the recoveries and builds and associated antics, but I equally enjoy watching you guys do your serious bread and butter work.

Honestly, the lighting, camera work, audio, and background music/effects are REALLY top-notch. Those 'little' things really make it feel like this is a show I'm watching on tv. Keep up the solid work!

Robby, one of the greatest things about your channel is I like to learn as I’m watching you do bodywork, The entertainment factor is OK but when you’re hamming it up for entertainment it doesn’t really interested me but when you’re truly doing your job the way you do that is interesting and phenomenal. Great work. Thank you.

I really appreciate how detailed and patient you are in the process of dent removal and body restoration. It really is an art, very good job Bob Ross! In all serious, there are too many folks these days that rush and don't take pride in their work so it ends up mediocre at best. You are the real deal who really takes ownership of the work you do and doesn't want anything to leave your shop subpar. I applause and greatly respect that!

Really love to see how you guys do the body work stuff, all the different tools, kets, blocks, sand grit, etch, prime/paint, it's really cool to see a professional at work, I'm in the trades too but nothing what you guys do (I'm electrical/electronics) but I really enjoy seeing different trades at work. Tell your little girl to keep up with the jokes, I believe her name is Demery, but I'm not 100% sure. thanks again ! New Brunswick, Canada.

This is by my favorite video, Robbie. You’re a natural at describing the work you’re doing, just as Matt is. Keep it and be yourself! :)

I retired from a career in automotive damage claims and always enjoyed my time in body shops. I’ll just say Robby’s skills are up there with the best. And I really enjoyed that metal working system!

Robby, I'm not a body guy, but watching you work and you explaining what you're doing makes it look doable by DIYers. Great job.

I'm glad that Robby has the patience and knowledge to do this. I used to work at a servivice center. When I had nothing to wrench on they would send me to the body shop. I learned alot just never have liked body work.
