When it comes to the #1 deficiency in amateur golfers, it’s undoubtedly their INABILITY to control the low-point of their swing.
The highest handicap golfers all have one thing in common - they don’t have enough weight forward at impact, and because of that, they NEVER have the lowest point of their swing arc far enough forwards (AFTER the ball). Instead, they have their low-point BEFORE the ball, resulting in a miserable myriad of mishits, from hitting the ground before the ball, to flat out topping the ball. CHUNK, THIN, FAT, TOP, BLADE… anything but CRISPY!
However, the solution is simpler than you may think. Once you know what needs to happen in order to get the swing’s low-point location further forwards, you can practice in a way that promotes and encourages this movement instantly!
This SECRET 🤫 Ball Position Drill will have you improving your body sequence in no time and will immediately transform your ball striking from hopeless hacker, to phenomenal flusher.

New golfer here, just played my first 6 holes couple of weeks back. The range definitely lies without putting a towel down or something to spot your fats. My contact was all over the place, decided to follow stack and tilt, practicing swings indoors putting a towel down etc. Done another 6 holes last week and actually made a par, contact point getting better but still a few fats. Played another 6 holes yesterday (got another par) and only had 1 fat. My miss is more thin now but prefer that than fat. Controlling the low point better and better but trying to get the best balance of how much weight i should have on my lead leg (80% seems to be the best atm). Need another range session and might need to give this drill a try as well.
@ilanmosery7562
Tried it, it worked wonderfully. Thank You!
@hongtao2932
Hi, Rob. I keep my weight 100% on lead side with a little bit close stance, this gaves consistance contact of ball.
@georgemazuran3413
Haven’t played a lot cause of my back but can’t wait to try it !!! Great explanation as always Rob, number one man on RU-vid
@neilmccabe1498
I have actually used this on the golf course at times when I'm struggling with keeping my weight forward, particularly when I'm getting tired later in the round. It works.
@andrewleventis8341
I just discovered your channel and can say your videos and explanations are excellent
@paulwelsh9325

I worked with this drill with my golf pro this morning. So crazy to see this video pop up.

15 hc golfer play once or twice a week. Tried this today on my outside mat hitting into my net. Amazing contact and compression, could feel myself getting fwd to reach the ball. Straighter ball flight on my simulator garmin r10. Taking to course tomorrow, wish me luck... Thanks for video Rob
@jserna99
Good drill...gonna use it before my next round...seemed to help at the practice net...should also help on the course!
@russquick7899
Rob, I've labored too long to find contact ball first. I've always been athletic but for whatever reason have not been able to move my weight forward at the correct time to imprint the move so that it is CONSISTENT. Love your teaching method and hopefully this lesson will get me on track. Be well-Russ
@fergusfitzgerald977
I agree and as a senior golfer I often have trouble with this myself !
@aramavakian
@robcheneygolf1 Great lesson and thought as always. Rob what can I do for close to heel contact with all my clubs. I am missing the center by maybe an inch or so. I tried backing up a bit but seems I'm throwing my hands at it and same result. Thank you for your input.
@jeffreylevine4076
Using the golf covers helps focus on the technique.
@rickcudmore8156
I can hit my irons with my weight forward and have very good results but I still an issues with the driver. I know weight forward means hips forward, but it is a work in progress.
@briangilles1431
Rob, is your video of how to build the grid still on RU-vid? I can't find it.
@davidhodge8105
How does one release the club in 'Stack-n-Tilt'.
@francispesce4092
When you move the ball to its regular position do you focus on the ball or a spot in front of the ball?
@ldm616
Rob, Do you have a recommended list of drills for folks to master in sequence in order to get more SnT? Eg master this (consistent strike zone) then this (?) then this (?) then this (?). Perhaps the five phrases in sequence and their associated drills? I want a program that assembles/stacks skills rather than jumping from one drill to another without really mastering anything.
@michaeldodd6864
I'm confused. Where is the Correct ball position.
