eXtremeRate PS4 Controller DTFS LED Kit Installation Guide 

Got this kit yesterday and installed. It works great but was considerably more time consuming than I expected. Also patience is key with the ribbon cables and tiny connections that must be made. Looks incredible though!

Bought one of these because I was going to open up the controller anyway to attempt to fix an analogue drift issue. First of all, I got the slightly updated version withou the longer wires, which was great. Secondly, this video was so clear, it really did make it simple, even though I'd never opened a ps4 controller up before. So my fix was successful, and the installation went great. I absolutely love the end result, and I'm resisting the urge to upgrade every controller in my life to match. Lol. Great product. I do highly recommend taking your time, and watching the video all the way through at least once, before you begin, just to minimise errors made through haste.

I bought 3 of these already. I’ve installed some for a few friends as well. I’m addicted. I just bought a chrome shell and I’ll be putting these leds on it in a few weeks. Can’t wait.

This is amazing! Would be really cool if you could control the colors from a phone. Make an app and it will connect to the LED ribbon via Bluetooth or WiFi so it doesn't interfere with the connection to the ps4

just did mine looks amazing. TIP: if you know how to take stuff apart and put it back together this will be easy, no sauldering gun needed just small fingers and the tweezers helped

Super satisfied , no Leds would work at first but instead of complaining and rushing to a refund , I rewatchdd the videos and re did my steps to see my mistake which was literally only was wire being plugged in back wards , best product I've ever bought when it comes to playstation. Will be buying again when something mew catches my eye but works just fine !

So I have the newer model and everything activated and stuff but it won’t work( I press home button and it doesn’t turn on and the buttons won’t work either even plugged in to the charger too) also there are holes where the buttons are at too

I just bought it in a sale, and the only bad thing its that it doesnt bring The LED circuit, In other words, just the bottons and the tools, is there a chance I can get the LED a part?

Hey, I would like to know if I could get a replacement? The Blue wire that connects to the Battery was broken when I received it, and it won’t let me turn on the lights, only for a brief 10 seconds

i need some help. After putting ps4 controller back together with the LED kit, controller seem not to work correctly. The controller doesn't come on when i press the power button, and it wont connect to my console.

hi the installation and operation of the stove the kit edition went well and works well, but now I have a big problem that I did not have before: the controller connects perfectly and works but after 4/5 seconds it disconnects. pressing the PS button reconnects well and then disconnects. I also tried with the reser and it doesn't improve. thank you for an advice

Hey, so I've done two of these and worked perfectly however this last time, the D-Pad only lights up red. The rest of the lights work fine and go all colours, but for whatever reason the D-pad does red, flashing red or off?

Just installed the kit, the LEDs are working but it won't let me change colors? I'm holding l1 & square & it never starts to flash or anything, it completely turns the LEDs off but that's it. I have to turn off & re turn on on the remote for the LEDs to come on again.

can i use this whilst having clicky hair triggers and button for d-pad etc?

Hey, I’ve installed it on different controller with another kit, how comes the touchpad needs to be pressed hard to hear a click? How can I make the touchpad feel normal ?

I installed this kit and the lights work, but the controller triggers buttons that i don't actually press, particularly the right arrow, why?

I’m looking to buy this upgrade. Being able to disable the led section by section (colourless) sort of answers the question I have as I don’t want my thumb sticks to light up. But after watching this installation guide and watching the install of the thumb stick led ring with the note “make sure the thumb sticks do not get stuck. Considering the thumb sticks modules are the continuous problem I have with controllers I feel my question is still valid. Will the kit still work if I cut/remove the thumb stick led ring?

Can I mod my controller with this led together with the Remap Kit? Both with the steps of the RU-vid tutorials? Or do I need different steps if I'm gonna mod the led kit en Remap Kit on my controller?

I bought the small one. Just the thumb sticks and the main buttons. But they FUCKED up the battry stick. So now i'm a controller short. How could they fuck up the conection from the battary to the bord but not from the bord to the controller?

My controller with this LED kit is staying permanently red. The settings work in terms of switching which set of buttons I want to program, but the “right on the dpad” doesn’t change the colors. Any suggestions?

Hi. My kit arrived today, but on the instructions the person has the gold bit to make the lights with wire and mine doesn’t, mines just gold and then a separate battery.. with no instructions on how to put it together🤭

Looks cool, but I saw a video on Amazon of a guy on Amazon that combined the LED kit with the tournament edition controller. It does technically say it's not compatible, but figured I'd ask to see if anyone else has done that or not

I received the one I bought the other day and tried to implement it on my PS4 controller, but it only glowed when I connected the battery, but it didn't go into setting mode and none of the buttons glowed even when the PS4 controller was on. What should I do? Also, is this a defective product? Can I return it and get a replacement? Thank you very much for your help.

Installed, have full functionality but NO LEDS... battery was fully charged. Can not get into the setting menu and it killed the light bar and the light in my touch pad. Help!!!!

Mine is really different. The LEDs for the thumbsticks seems to be attached to the board while in the video, they are attached with wires soldered to the board. What exactly am I supposed to do now if I can't bend them to stay in place?

I buyed the gold version of it and i dont know how i bring the electronic from the old one in the new one. And the parts from the leds does not stick to the controller (i mean with it the buttons to walk in a game)

Hey I ordered a flex kit on amazon and everything is put together proper, the only problem is it seems like the battery won’t charge, it won’t power up unless plugged in and I tried to let it charge for an hour and still nothing

i got everything done now i have to figure out how to get the L2 and R2 to respond they work when i press them but when the button is in, it like it doens go down far enough go the rubber things to hit the chip

I ordered this off Amazon and the small black ribbon cable that plugs into to the led circuit on the side of the controller came broken and doesn't turn on the LED Buttons unless I bend it. Is there any way I could get a replacement ribbon? I don't want to send the entire kit back because it's already installed in my controller.

Hello, when installing this on my controller, the LED does not work but my controller works. I also have an issue where it will constantly press my dpad to the right but I am not pressing it that way and I cannot move it to the left at all. I’ve double checked everything, removed everything and tried again. When I tried without the front shell on, I noticed whenever I press right above the speaker area, it moved the dpad to the right. I’m not sure what’s going on please help :(

Every one of these i see has wires from the round bits that stick around the toggle area, but both the kits i got dont have those wires, just that same flat gold substance connecting it instead. Wondering if you had to put the wires on yourself?

Hi, I just installed this and the controller turns on and most of the buttons work, the the sticks don't seem to working. It seems to always be pushing right. And none of the led have lit up yet. I have check my connections, and went back through all the steps in the video with the same result.

I bought one and everything turns on except the right side of the controller so R1 R2 triangle square x and circle but everything else is fine. Also can’t change the color so it’s stuck on red. Other than that i love it! But if you can help me out I’d appreciate it.

Hello i just got my LED Kit today I followed every instruction correctly, right when I plugged the wire to the Battery it would flash then it the LED won’t turn on anymore and my light bar isn’t working and it won’t charge at all please help

Just tried installing this and somethings gone wrong. Are there any help forums or anywhere I can search for help? My L1 and R1 have gone dodgy and some buttons don't always respond. Just slide your finger over L1 and it acts like I've pressed it and sometimes will even activate when I haven't. L2 and R2 are just non responsive. Will take apart and try again but would appreciate advice. Never mind, fixed it. If anyone else has this problem, try turning the rubber bits under the buttons the upside down.

Essentially, the mod works on controllers that have light on the touchpad. Am I correct?

When I switched out the Charger inputs where the top light is at, the blue wire was disconnected from the motherboard, so I just wanna know if that will affect anything involving Charging.

So I just bought this product, and triple checked i did everything correctly and no wires were in the way of everything. But as soon as I plug in the battery, it all flashes red once and will not turn back on. I returned this product and am getting a replacement, just in case if this was a flaw. But it seems like you are answering questions here, So what do I do if this happens again?

Would I still be able to use third party accessories such as the FPS Strike Pack Dominator from CollectiveMinds so that was I don’t have to worry about the battery being depleted faster as it would be plugged in while using it always?

So everything worked but the right D-pad button. I hit it once and it keeps registering that I’m holding the right button and I can’t stop it.
