I like that the default setups are faster because that means that online races are more about driving talent rather then knowing all about the technical setups.
@@CroInsane The conditions in FP2 are more alike to Qualy and the Race. It might be better to do those programmes then. I usually do fuel and/or ers and/or tyres in FP3
@Alistair Wall my usual program is this: FP1: Track acclimatization (medium1), tyre wear (medium1), fuel (medium1), race strategy (hard) FP2: Race strategy (medium2), race strategy (soft1) FP3: ERS (medium3), tyre or fuel if I failed one (medium3), qualifying pace (soft2) I might do a qualy pace on soft1 in FP2 and use the same set for race strategy too. I haven’t got the game yet, but this what I did for my 100% races in 2017 and 2018. Race strategy on all tyres makes the personalized strategy option on the grid useful.
I think most of your gearbox and ICE issues mainly stem from your premature downshifts. Stuff like 2:22, 2:42 and 3:06 is putting a lot of extra and completely avoidable strain on the gearbox
Have to say I like that though. Those rapid downshifts I would see in Formula Dani videos were crazy unrealistic. The strain on the transmission would be incredible at the torque and bhp of these cars. Aaravs latest video of managing his gearbox shows the benefit of downshifting slower and upshifting even early.
The team is still French, even though their factory is in Enstone. If you only took the location of the factory into account, about 80% of the grid would be British. Maybe Jeff's text is from 2015, when Renault was still Lotus lol
20:20 Ben in the states (where I live) there is a race called the 24 hours of lemons where you get a car for under $500 and race it for 24 hours so yeh
@Tsz Fung Wong no dude he didnt mean le mans. he means "lemons" which is a term for really cheap and shit cars. this race is basically a parody of le man but with lemons
@Tsz Fung Wong Ben called the renault a lemon for its reliability. Paolo is referring to a race in US called the 24hr of lemons (a parody of 24hr of Le Mans) where anybody with a cheap car which costs under $500 (I think) can participate.
This is honestly the best career mode in this channel. This is the year I finally feel like you're working hard on and off the grid. The previous years was just a pattern that repeated.
Nosaj not really leclerc shouldve conceeded it max was in front on the way in to the turn he also never stopped turning so nothing he couldve it was Charles fault he went wide
@@xKstm Charles was in front? Literally the lap before, Max tried the same thing without pushing Charles off the track and it was a fair race up to the next corner. Charles had track position both times and Max did too but if you're coming from behind, you have to give the guy space.
I'm not particularly in to F1, but these career mode vids are good fun. Amazing how the graphics capture how the head tilts as the car corners. You can see the force acting on the neck and imagine how strong your neck muscles have to be to take the cornering speeds! With respect to American uploaders, it is refreshing to hear another accent. I love all the Ozzie phrases. I love that the Ozzies take pride in their vernacular. Never mind the Inuit with their 7 words for snow, I love the way Ozzies can say 'this is shit' in a 1,000 different ways!
I just noticed, in the Ricciardo pit stop it says 27 HUL on the garage floor. Perhaps too much effort to change it to the career player’s name and number?
I'm an American and grew up watching NASCAR, that was my intro into racing. While I still like it, sim-racing (IRacing) has opened me up to all kinds of road racing, and I've taken a big interest in F1 lately. Watching these videos is entertaining and actually makes me want to get this game. Judt debating if I should get it for my PS4 or my sim-racing PC...choices...
Ben when you're checking your race strat you're doing the projected and not the personalised. So that's why your fuel is so high. If you do the practice runs your personalised projections take fuel and tyrewear into consideration
In the UK a lemon car is a car that was assembled by 2 halfs of a different car if I'm not mistaken. If Verstappen is driving like he was today in Austria...my god, good luck catching him !! (What a fantastic race that was) haha Bottas overtaken by Verstappen....Imagine that...we don't need to anymore :D
I truly enjoy these. I insist on you getting really far on this game, as I truly believe you'll find the AI consistently challenging your skills when all manufacturer's cars are maxed out. Fast kudos. ;)
It's actually worth driving the out and inlap in Q2 - if you do it calm and słów enough, you'll get way better tires at the start of the race (it differs by more than 5% sometimes)
Just got France in my Williams play through. Plowed all R&D into aero, and it rained in France. I started 16th and finished second after going long and pitting once instead of twice. Kept pace with the leader as well. Thoroughly enjoying this game.
Ben, what you said about the fuel burn.. If you run the race programme in practice in high engine mode, it will take your fuel numbers from mix laps. Thats why you dont "burn" fuel in the race
Surely being stiffed in q2 like that, you may as well have changed everything on the car for brand new parts? Only 5 places lost and a free set of all parts....seemed like a no-brainer to me whilst watching it! Great series btw, you and aarava are my go to's for watching a career mode.
Ben if you have nothing to do in fp3 simulate it. It will give you some resourse points the only problem is that after that sesion your respect can go down but only a little bit so that doesn't matter
Ben: "I just can't get a hang of the setups required! Maybe the AI is too tough..." (Changes nothing) Ben: (Gets pole in next race) Ben: "Let's make this tougher, I don't deserve happiness."
I dont think you lose that much time in the pits at Silverstone because by going to the pitlane you cut the final two corners , so even if you spend 25 seconds in the pitlane by cutting the final corners you gain like 5 seconds so the loss isnt as big .. feel free to correct me
Enjoying the series keep it going........ Is a upgrade to a thrustmaster tx and ferrari f1 wheel with t3pa pedals a good upgrade from thrustmaster tmx?
Nice videos, I lose so much time in the day watching them lol! Only problem is the game makers, as a stickler for detail it really bothers me that the game has vettel with the yellow T camera and le clerc with the black one 😭
please up the difficulty, its not right that your topping sessions by nearly a second in the renault this early on, it will make it more realistic as you are supposed to be a rookie
I'm honestly surprised they haven't put the youtubers' names in the game. Your's, Aarava's, etc. Brendon Leigh's face is in the game and he can't even get his name in it. Just seems a little weird. Anyways, thanks for the frequency of videos, Mr. Daly. I.m sure I can speak on behalf of all your viewers when I say we appreciate all the awesome content.
Changing the difficulty throughout the weekend doesn’t change it I swear. Not sure about others but I changed throughout a weekend and they seemed as fast as they did before I changed. For example I start on 105 ai and then for the race I change to 100 and they still seemed as 105 AI not 100 in the race 🤷♂️
I think Codemasters has a reliability problem. I just finished my first career race, it just loaded the driver points/position screen, then BAM!!, game decided to restart by itself. Gotta do race all over again. Doubt i will get the same result. But i will say the AI is WAAAYYYY better than in previous games. They had two wrecks all by themselves which benefited me
I had half an engine failure in China. My racing Point was dying on the straights and overheating. in that time I was slower than f2 and I thought gp2 engine, gp2 engine 😂😂😂
