Jim Martin was the guitarist on this album. Left after this tour and now, in all seriousness, grows pumpkins and other gourds. You can find pics of him online with massive vegetables. Seriously.

AD was released in the spring of 92... I’m pretty sure Pro Tools was released in 88 or 89, but I’m guessing this album was not recorded using that. Just because it’s Mike... so of course that was a real megaphone. But this album became so influential that not even a decade later it spawned an entire genre of bands that were definitely using PT to recreate many of the sounds.

A song ahead of its time (the whole album is). I always thought this song sounded like an early version of ‘nu metal’. It’s the angsty delivery in the verses that gives that impression. You can tell straight away a lot of dudes tried to imitate Patton on this album.

Yeah another one of my favourite songs off Angel Dust, it's just so badass with all that amazing bass and I love the lyrics, it's just such a cool song and no way have you done all of AD yet lol we've still got some really great songs to get to, this is my favourite album and I don't think anything else will ever compare that's how amazing it is ❤️ and really glad you liked it, 2 for 2 and I have a feeling you're gonna like the next song too. Great song. Probably my favorite from the Angel Dust album, and there are a lot of jams on that album.

Just a 'Groovy Song' with that 'MAD BEAT' mixed with a 'Melody' all the way through it.. Angel Dust to me is simply FIRE!!

Another great reaction, one of my favourites off this record. I think it's one of those songs that's demonstrated that FNM aren't a "traditional" band in terms of how they write and perform. Each member has their own way of playing and their own tones. It's not very often you'd hear an aggressive guitar, rhythmic bass and strings played this way. It's worth looking into the way they write. There's very little jamming between all members. Jim would often write alone, Patton would write alone and the other three would jam out their own ideas together. Keep up these great FNM/Patton reactions :)

If I could recommend a FNM song it would be The Cowboy Song recorded around The Real Thing era but it wasn't on the album. It was on the Live From Brixton Academy album in its studio recorded form.

the guitar player is Jim Martin....I think you called him John......Jim was one of Cliff Burton's best friends !!!....this was Jim's last album with FNM......

Pro-tools was first released in 1989, this album was recorded in 91-92. Highly doubtful pro-tools was in use yet for a band like FNM. At that point only the biggest artists would have been using it. I did a few recordings in the early 90's and most of us were still using tape. DAW's didn't really start getting used by the smaller artists till later in the decade.

There recording of angel dust is all documented, Just search for Faith No More - Making Of Angel Dust. It's very interesting to watch their process. Billy Gould actually recorded a lot of the guitar on the album as there were growing tensions between Jim and the rest of the band and he left after the tour for the album. He was replaced by Mr Bungle's guitarist Trey Spruance for the recording of their next album, King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime who was replaced by Dean Menta for the tour of King for a Day, who was eventually replaced by John Hudson.

This sounds exactly like a way better version of everything that was on rock radio ten years AFTER Angel Dust was released. Faith No More is a hugely influential band. I cannot overstate how much of the radio in 2002 sounded like a stale, amateur rendition of this.

Very happy you`ve enjoyed this tune all wrapped up in dizziness and emotional clouds of nostalgia..:) But you know why it was even funnier for me, regardless to the notion that this could easily be one of most satisfying songs from this album to me? You should try "Matador" on Faith No More's reunion album "Sol Invictus".

I know Patton has some of the best vocals on earth but almost feel like he was just toying around with us on this one but the instruments are 🔥 and wish he would have sang it a little bit better.

Mike uses a lot of megaphone and weird walkie talkie and voice boxes , even to this day. This album was a real departure from the alt-funk rock tone they set in their earlier albums. This is the last album guitarist Jim Martin would appear on, and the first to feature a lot of writing and influence from Mike. Much heavier and darker, it actually became their most successful album in terms of record sales.

This album needs to be listened to like it's one big long song. There are a few albums like that but I just can't think of the others right now. Well, Tool's Lateralus comes to mind.

This is one of Mike Patton's few autobiographical songs, It's about his memories of being a kid at school and his father being a sports writer / commentator.
