/ badgergoodger / badgergoodger / badgergoodger The hype for GTA V was real, but these screenshots, videos, and maps weren't. Do you remember any of these?
Who remembers the “leaked” GTA 5 gameplay of a guy driving an SUV in a desert killing some people and hopping into a helicopter I was so gullible back then Edit: just realized it was at 3:35
That was because the idiots at IGN thought the voiceover in trailer 1 was Ray Liotta. I remember watching their livestream of the trailer and not only did they think it was Tommy for some reason, they didn't know that Vinewood meant Los Santos/San Andreas.
@@GTAFan77 think I remember that too, didn't they think Franklin was CJ too so just kept calling them that throughout the whole video? very stupid and unprofessional
I remember seeing comments saying that the "V" in the GTA 5 logo was there as an abbreviation of "Vice City"... this was after they showed Los Santos in the trailer...
Now you should do a video about REAL gta leaks. There’re just a couple of leaked screenshots, and I believe only two of GTA V: the yellow submarine near the docks and Franklin’s gun wheel near his house.
There also was a development screenshot of map development at Sandy Shores before the trailer with GTA IV hud. and near the micheal's house, screenshot with gta iv ui, but again gta v map before the trailer.
JulianSauco There was screenshots from Max Payne 3 or Hydra’s and Other planes flying over Los Santos but most ppl didn’t believe it until after the game actually came out
@@HuskyGamersUNITE your eyes are so fucked up from over stimulation that you can't tell it was a real picture that had GTA IV photoshopped on top of it
This somehow reminds me of that one video where a kid messages some dude on Xbox saying "my dad owns microsoft he can get you banned", and then the guy replied "So your dad is Bill Gates?" Then the kid replied "whos bill gates"
The Rockstar Games intro with the car break-in, gunshots, and sirens that plays when you first start the game was actually leaked prior to release. I remember seeing the leaked intro on RU-vid and quite a few people were speculating it was fake. It was pretty cool when I saw the same intro again when I booted up the game for the first time.
Fun fact there were some named guys who designed the intro music. The guy from GTA 4 was also asked to make an intro song. The song was called LS MOB. So it could be really some "beta leaks"
While I was too young to remember the build up to GTA 4. The build up to 5 was massive, I remember waking up at 5am to watch the first preview of the game in November 2011. And waiting through the delays. RU-vid was still in its infancy so everyone and their dead cat was posting stuff about GTA. Man it doesn't feel like 8 years have passed since that announcement.
The buildup to IV was huge, too. March 2007 was when it was officially revealed and both the Rockstar website and GTAForums went down. RU-vid was just full of people reposting the trailer or posting single-frame analyses made in Windows Movie Maker. The internet was a much different place 13 years ago!
I actually remember the GTA 4 trailers, the one I remember especially was the one where its nikos face with different backgrounds as he's walking. I remember my parents saying "You're not allowed that game until your older" after trying to tell them it's not that bad 😂
People making those fake screenshots have: A phone A functioning printscreen key on their keyboard A 144p 5fps webcam from 2005 Guess which one gets the job?
Whoever made that map that was close enough to the actual one is kind of creepy even they included the island which is now Cayo Perico and it actually resembles that Island. It's almost like they knew what the layout would be but they sketched it out in a different way.
I remember a point in time where Rockstar launched the first images about GTA V and everyone thought that Michael de Santa was a reformed Tommy Vercetti living in Los Santos. 😂
I hope they add smthing similar that was in Mafia 2. where you could choose car physics "Realistic" and "Normal" Realistic would be GTA IV physics Normal would be V physics
@@j23krystian82 but gta v's cars have more detail than IV's I would love to have V's physics but the cars speed should be slow, it would make the map look big.
3:18 i saw this when i was 11 and i thought to myself "wow this looks like real life, i can never play it my pc is soooo low end" but when i looked at actual gta v gameplay videos in 2015, i thought "wait! this isn't what i saw" it still looks amazing but not like that video. i have been searching that video for soo long and finally found it from this video i was a dumb kid back then
1:45 that ALMOST looks like the trailer announcement picture for the first gta 6 trailer looking back on all the insane gta 6 rumours will be so fun when the game is finally out
When Gta 6 does come out, everyone is going to praise GTA5 and say it is better than GTA 6. Just like how people are saying GTA 4 is better than GTA 5. :/
That's how nostalgia works. I remember many years ago when I was a young child being made fun of on the internet because I was a child who liked the star wars prequals. Today however those prequals are praised as the best movies in the series and anyone who likes the sequals is made fun of.
Also, I felt the winding road around San Andreas enhances the sense of scale. Like if you actually just drove around it you'd see so much, like it was basically 50 miles long. That's sick
Fun fact is that map has vertical-horizontal length of 3.7 miles.Much much smaller than GTA V.Complicated roads and too short draw distance felt it’s much bigger.
I forgot about the fake map that had the correct placement of the Alamo Sea, Paleto Bay, and general layout of the city. It's actually really weird how well they were able to predict it. It almost looks like a map someone would draw from memory after playing the game.
To be honest I always loved the pic that is in the thumbnail, it gives me that vibe of Las Venturas and also the feeling of IV (which is where the origin is from)
I'm really enjoying your content man. Keep it up. Honestly when I was 12, I thought that 8 days footage was real. I think these fake leaks only convince kids. Now that I'm 21, I don't even check leaks.
this brought back so many memories of 8 year old me showing my parents “footage” of GTA 5 and them acting like they cared😂😂 (also I’m pretty shocked they let me played GTA at such a young age) also you gained a new sub 👍🏻
I remember I found a GTA V gameplay video a few days before release. I was so stoked and I thought it was fake, but it was actually real. A simple recording of him driving and hitting a wall had me go crazy. Lmao
back in 2011 I actually remember seeing a video that claimed to be "gta v beta test footage" with the description saying something like "a friend of mine works at rockstar" and I thought it was def fake, but thinking back I think it was actually real. It had early elements of the landscape around sandy shores, the exact same square minimap that was in the final game and one of the newer SUV's was being driven around.
@@D_LGND I distinctly remember it was the same minimap layout, parts of the grand senora desert as they appear in GTAV just less detailed, and one of the newer ballers being driven around. It was too unique and different for it to be just be a map mod for GTA IV
I've been watching your videos since you uploaded that video about instruction manuals and you post really quality content and you're easily one of the best content creators that focuses on rockstar games keep up the good work
Nice lil drive thru memory lane. “A few weeks or so...” started the info drought for almost a year and it killed me. The hype for V was too real. Such a shame I ain’t a fan of it these days
The hype and buildup to its release was fun! Although personally, I MUCH prefer GTA IV and think it's overall a better game than V. Here's hoping that 6 doesn't repeat the mistakes of V!
I remember seeing the EIGHT DAYS footage and actually thinking it was GTA5 and then being shocked how different GTA was compared to what I saw, and i've always thought it was kinda odd how i remembered it being so different in the supposed trailer. And now i FINALLY know that it was this other random game instead
This brings back so many memories of googling GTA V news daily trying to find ANY detail about the game. I’ll never forget how excited I was about the game coming out...
10:56 can we talk about how they used an old PlayStation 3 box layout, which was phased out in 2009 when Sony rebranded the PS3? Also why would an unfinished game already have a box art and PEGI rating? Unless this was "leaked" shortly before the release, which would be even more dodgy, considering the rookie mistakes.
my personal favorites were the videos that did have "fake" or "concept" in the title but the text was so long that you could only see that once you clicked on the video
Yeah I agree on liking the circular radar, I get that the new radar resembles modern car GPS screens but first off, the bars for the health armor and stamina is sooo small, and the rectangular map is just limiting what you can see what’s in front of you, why can you see more on the left and right than forward???
EIGHT DAYS TOTALLY influenced GTA V, you can see hints in many stuff, from the locations to some missions, the mission where you are suppose to rescue Michael´s son for example was totally influenced by Eight Days, plus the concept of the multiple protagonist, also they took stuff from Driver, the mechanics of changing characters was taken from Driver
3:47 those concepts with the cars driving around the mountains were as close to the real thing as we ended up getting more than any other fakes or concepts that weren’t rockstar, til this day when I’m driving through sandy shores I just get flashbacks of those videos every time
I really am still dying to see what HD universe Vice City looks like as well. As i hope it has new luxary buildings, casinos, new beaches fancy technology, and diaz mansion either dusty and abandoned or renovated.
Kinda funny... That gameplay at 4:36 (thats when i recongized it) was also in a "GTA 6 trailer" lol, they just re used the same fake GTA 5 leaks and tried to pass it off as GTA 6 a few years later...
I go to catalina island every summer with my family, it's honestly amazing and beautiful. Just last summer the island went on an entire blackout for no apparent reason. Quite scary yet beautiful. But it is true; everyone drives golfcarts bc the roads are so tiny, and because it can take up to 10+ years to get your car registered on the island.
The one big problem with the map from around 8:00 to 9:00 is that there is no way in hell any sensible map designer would ever design a river shaped like THAT. WHAT THE F*** even is that river thing? All jagged and shit, like literally no real river on this entire planet!
One thing about GTA 5’s actual landmass: the western coast is like the actual LA coast with beaches. The eastern coast, however, is more rocky and difficult to traverse as that could be the connecting point to the rest of the San Andreas State. And remember that Paleto Bay sits on a river, as Lester mentions this, not on the Pacific Ocean
As far as I remember, when only the first trailer had been introduced, i read somewhere that one of the ex Rockstar employees told that the protagonist's name is Franklin, he's black and he drives the red cabrio in the trailer. I was pretty sure it's a fake, but later turned out that it was true, lol.
