So what’s the ingredients you use for the gravy?
@SageandStoneHomestead
@SageandStoneHomestead 7 месяцев назад
Bone broth and Italian seasonings with flour to thicken it up. It's a basic gravy but so good.

Did you say you eat your goats? Do you have any videos on goat meat? Do you butcher it yourself ? Compare to lamb meat? How do you cook it? We have had goats for years but never ate any. But want to try it. Just don’t want to waste a goat if we don’t like it.
@SageandStoneHomestead
@SageandStoneHomestead Год назад
It's a lot like lamb!! We love it, a lot. We cook it using recipes found online for goat or use it like venison or beef and we have yet to be disappointed!! Roasted goat shoulder is one of our favorites. I do have a video on goat butchering day but it's not a teaching video, more of a "why we do this" video. It's called "why we eat the animals we love". Let me know if you can't find it!

I don't know anyone round here that has rabbits. Thanks for yet another good video, I look forward to seein yours. God bless y'all ❤️ from Indiana

Thanks for sharing, I love rabbit, But not many areas you can get it around here. Certain time of year to hunt them. My brother gives me one once in awhile to cook up, but then I have to have him over for supper. I guess that is a fair trade off.

You could do this in an instant pot, you'd just want to expect the rabbit to be VERY tender and fall off the bone.

No they do not! We have only noticed that testosterone makes them harder to skin, but it does not affect the meat at all.

After I get it canned and put away how would I use it? Do I just pull it out and dump the jar into the crockpot? I wanna send my mom a jar of rabbit for her to try with this recipe, just not sure how to have her do it
@SageandStoneHomestead
@SageandStoneHomestead 11 месяцев назад
After it is canned it's fully cooked and you would use it like you would use any cooked shredded chicken. You'll have to de-bone before use but the bones fall right out of the meat.
@cassieskrazylife2185
@cassieskrazylife2185 11 месяцев назад
@@SageandStoneHomestead ok cool so for the recipe above in the video how would I do that as it's already cooked? Just do it it the same and only slow cook for 2 hours instead
@SageandStoneHomestead
@SageandStoneHomestead 11 месяцев назад
This wouldn't work well for canned rabbit. Canned rabbit falls apart really easily and you'd just have a mess of meat and bones if you cooked it again. If you wanted to make a similar sauce and pour over the de-boned canned rabbit and heat in the oven or microwave until warm you could do that!

Hi heather my husband thinks I’m barbaric to grow rabbits to eat. Cooking it Sunday or Monday. I’m new to rabbits but ive cooked antelope, venison, duck (yuck) dove and bison. I’m excited to grow my own meat. Groceries are insanely expensive where i am in northern Arizona. 😢I’m praying its tasty. I haven’t eaten it in 35 years. So I figured I better try it before i breed my bunnies 😊

Good call! Rabbit is delicious, and I don't like duck either!
@theresekirkpatrick3337

I’m also so excited to see i can make bone broth for later. $6 a quart for good broth without antibiotics or other sketchy ingredients. Thank you so much for all your suggestions and teaching us techniques to be more self sufficient for our nutrition. God bless you and your family. Though many have chickens goats cows or pigs around me. Rabbit is difficult to find had to order from a bison ranch in Wisconsin. It’s also not a popular choice. Many vegans here from California too. So i have a very small community of people that are helpful and supportive. I’m thinking of selling the hay and poop for gardens too. Adds up quickly with the bedding. 😳🤷‍♀️ but they don’t stink like many other livestock
