Hi Alice and Kevin, So, I watched this video 2 weeks ago. I couldn’t find any ox tails whatsoever. A friend of mine was out shopping and saw some. She called me, got them for me. Today I made them exactly like your video and OH MY WORD!!! Soooooo goooood!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!! I’ve only been carnivore since March 25th, 65 yrs old and I feel so good. The fact that I no longer have joints pain is HUGE!! Thank you so much again and I can’t wait to see more of your recipes. Hugs!!!
I was looking for a recipe that didn’t include gravy thank you. The only thing all the different is I will put some home grown thyme and rosemary on it as well.
Tip if you're looking for oxtail: If you have a butcher or meat shop nearby, they will usually have oxtail. I'd call around just to check! :) I have cooked oxtail many ways but I will try this recipe today now that I am doing carnivore. Hope this helps!
I picked up 2lb of oxtail today from Walter Smith butchers at £12 , and I never tried oxtail before, aside from soup, so hopefully, it was worth the money 😂
Omgoooooosh!!!!! I just got some grass fed grass finished oxtail and I cannot wait to try this!!! I just may eat the whole thing as my husband’s doctor has him on a low fat low red meat , no cheese no butter diet!!! I eat the exact opposite!!!
Here after watching ketogenic woman. I don't have oxtails darn but I do have some beef ribs in the freezer!! I saw another video where you cooked them about the same way!! Yum!!
Hi Juanita, thanks for stopping by and commenting! The cooking method for the oxtail and beef ribs are very similar, we love cooking our bone-in meats this way because of how everything falls off the bone ;). Let us know how your beef ribs turn out!
Hello, I’m just discovering you and your hubby last night. I’m not quite 2 months yet on carnivore. I feel absolutely great. I just wanted to say you guys are wonderful and I’m so looking forward to making a lot of the recipes I’ve seen you make so far. Thank you so very much!! 😊
Oh my this is my favorite cut of meat I probably have it every week. My local butcher only sells it at about 5 dollars a pound so I’m always buying it. Truly amazing!!!!
I liked and subscribed. Thank you for posting this fabulous-looking recipe! I am new to carnivore, bought oxtails yesterday and will use you recipe to cook them today. I can barely wait to taste this!
@@AliceCeeCPA I am 5 weeks carnivor. Thought it was crazy but I feel so good. The best thing is I found a regenerative farm close to my house where I can get pasture raised beef and made an order for 4 ox tails right after seeing your video.
Like the simplicity of it , I heading right off to BJs(closer than COSTCO) in an hour so. FYI , watched more than 8 videos on Oxtail and settled on to yours.
Ketogenic Woman sent me & now I want to run out & buy some Oxtail! Oh, this looks so yummy! Have you made them in an Instant pot, or does adding liquid ruin the finished product? Great to meet you!
Came out perfectly! Thanks for the recipe . I made some delicious oxtails stew, but I want a roasted recipe and this is perfect for seasoning. I use blackened seasoning.
Hi Margarite - thanks for subscribing! We love this way of cooking bone-in meats because of how convenient it is, but always to test out new cooking methods as well. How do you usually stew them?
I'm Asian and have been eating oxtails for decades. I do remember when oxtails were really cheap. Have you tried pig feet? They are delicious too and still relatively inexpensive.
I love pork hocks! I was thinking of making a video on them but I'm still tweaking my recipe to see if we can get a cleaner version without soy/sugar but with the same flavour. Are you chinese?
I just boil my oxtail til its soft enough! I get the stock as a bonus to use as a broth from the boiling process and its such a great tasting cut that it doesnt need to have anything added if you dont want to. I sit and devour a batch in one sitting! (With my dog who absolutely loves it too- carnivore diet buddy 😂)Love all that soft grizzle and gelatinous goodness!!!❤
You're here to check them out too huh? Can't wait to try this different technique! I made these using an instapot that the ketogenic Women taught me. Now I'll have a new way to do these thanks!
Another Anita fan 👋 that’s now subscribed to your channel as well. Keto, carnivore and Canadians make for (imho) the best possible combo! Can’t wait to see what else is here (keto/carnivore ox tail soup 🤞🤞). Thanks for all you do! ❤ 🥩 🐄 ❤
I wish you'd suggest a few tips for ensuring a well rounded 80/20 or 75/25 meal bbut it seems you've stated in the video that it's a perfect carnivore meal but what's the macros for certainty sake.
Hi there! To be honest, we always treat macros as just a guesstimate - there's always going to be some degree of variation because no two cows are the same, haha. We use Nutritionix (free website) to get an estimate. If you're getting a lot of different numbers from different places, you could just take the average of them all.
