Something else that needs to be considered before buying this game. Pretty much all Bethesda games have been moddable and most of them have been fixed by the players, not by bethesda themselves. This game is an online only game, so it is unlikely that it will be able to be modded. That means no awesome player modders will be coming to the rescue to fix the game. So people will have to be reliant on Bethesda fixing the game. The likelihood of that in my opinion is 0%. They are good at making good games, but fixing them, nah. So its upto you guys. I know I wont be buying this game. The online component and no npc interaction is enough to put me off.

I can't believe how many Bethesda fanboys are saying this looks like a new game, I've watched gameplay footages and I can't even see the difference between Fallout 4 and this one in terms of graphics, LOD, lighting and textures. There must be a slight difference because I can't see anything different, it still looks clunky and buggy as anything. Fallout 4 with texture and lighting mods or an ENB look better than this game, this still looks like vanilla Fallout to me. It looks like 3 years of wasted development because they wanted to try something different, so is there excuse, pretty convenient if you ask me considering this is where the casual game market is heading to.

I agree with you but I just want to add that despite all of the issues surrounding Fallout 76, It is really a blast to play with friends. As a fan of Fallout 3 and NV, I already prefer Fallout 76 to Fallout 4. The tone is much darker than Fallout 4 (more in line with 3) which is a huge plus in my opinion. That is not to say I'm not looking forward to the next singleplayer main entry into the Fallout series.

@@paulblart8568 Massive rumor that a future DLC of 76 is going to be another vault opening up, which in turn means more people in West Virgina. Thus, NPC's added to the game later. At first it was just speculation, but apparently it's more than likely an actual thing. Sidebar: Fallout 76 actually does have story, and some of them are pretty damn good.

There were many problems in Fallout 4 and for some it took over a year to get fixed. Players had to devise all kinds of workarounds to get past the bugs and glitches. I have been a huge fan of Fallout games, but after Fallout 4 I decided that I am not buying the next Fallout on release. Instead, I’ll wait a year. Not only will most of the worst bugs be fixed, but the game will also be discounted.

@@mcrettable I'm not talking about the graphics side of the engine (though I could have, since these games look worse while running worse than others). I'm talking about everything else, like sounds, physics, hit detection... whatever it is called that handles quest states, NPC behaviour... it just seems like they don't want to spend the time on a different engine and learning new developer tools, because the current Gamebryo based Frankenstein one is comfortable for them, but they could really benefit from it. And it's not like they lack the money to just spend some time adjusting to a new engine.

Eh the micro transactions don't hold much weight at all since it's just cosmetics lol. Literally just skins and a couple variations for objects you can build in the camp but that's it for now at least. If they keep it that way, then that won't ruin the game in any way. As far as bugs and performance issues, I'm not experienced any and have already played a good 14 hours in the game, so that's a pretty good chunk of exploration to not see any performance problems. The AI is pretty stupid though so they clearly didn't work much on that from Fallout 4's AI systems. The game is moreso targetted to those who want to play a single player game with friends it feels like. The world is very empty and pvp is prolly never going to actually be a thing unless both sides want it to which kinda ruins the point behind having pvp in a game since they can't ambush other players or rob them unless they actually fight back lol. Whoever came up with that system is not the brightest at understanding pvp. I do enjoy the game though and playing it with friends is great, so they just need to fix the minor things like the party system not working and then it'll start getting better on the quality of the game. But yeah, for me it runs extremely smooth with no problems at all and I've not seeing any bugs or anything like that either.

I totally agree, and it breaks my heart a little bit because Bethesda has always been my favorite game studio (Digital Extremes now probably my favorite, or CDPR) and to see them fall so hard into the AAA business model RIGHT AFTER their whole "We'll never abandon single player, Fuck microtransactions!" campaign too.

I'm going to disagree partially what a beta is for. It's only for stress testing, and back in the day was all done in house by paid employees. A demo was to try a game before you would buy it.

And those selected (often in waves), would get to play the game and give feedback. Unless you're talking about before the advent of the Internet - then well, yeah, we had demos. It was a privilege back then, to get into a beta program. And probably some of my best experiences in gaming. Nowadays, it's more like a marketing gimmick to get people to pre-order.

This engine is very old, for fallout for the elder scrolls, even for "blades" mobile app. It is too condescending they continue using that obsolete code.

Every Engine is "Old" thats not a verry good argument.Engines are always improved and developed. And alot of those "Codes" are necessary. Even if they create a complete new Engine from the ground , they need to remake alot of the old Basics to keep things running for their software. Like any other Studio. For me, most dead people have been filled with more lives through the good written holotapes than the last 4 Fallouts together. Besides from that no fallout had really good characters except for a few highlights.

Some of those games you mention are good (not all, but that's just a difference of opinion) but games over the last few years have become cash machines, with micro-transactions and very little actual effort put into games, they are mostly half released shells with the rest of the game being sold to us through DLC. For a company to rely on the modders to save their games shows they do not value us as gamers, just our cash. ES6 will probably be put through the same thing and it's just sad to think that's what we expect nowadays.

I'm not going to buy it if they made it again in the Creation Engine.

Only thing that can prevent that from failing is the modding community like all the other games lol. They were only successful because people could mod them.

Fallout Go lol Augmented Reality that makes your real life look like a wasteland.....sells millions in the first 3 hours! Makes trillions of dollars in the first month. Yeah that would prolly get the devs outta their crappy budgetting. They should do intensive testing before releasing games lol. BUT, they know how to make their game get all over the world by jumping on the hate train. Make crap games = millions hating on it = good publicity because rebels will buy it anyway just to laugh at it or to shun the haters. So in the end they still win and they know it which is why they do it. They can easily take 1-2 more months on releases and make sure they have a very smooth launch, but then that would just be like "Yeah, game's good go buy it." and not "OMFG WTF IS THIS SHIT!? Guy's check out this shitty game, why would they ruin the franchise with this crap!?" then it spreads around like a fire lol and they get TONS more publicity from it. People like shit games, regardless what others say about them, just look at all the Goat Simulator crappy type games and ripoffs of that. They had shit mechanics, shit ideas and still became quite popular lol because people liked laughing at the crappy controls in them and all the randomness. A game like that would literally cost me like....$5 to make lmao so they made huge profits and the games were not GOOD by any means. But yeah, they like the negativity because it just fuels their next game by hyping it up so it'll be "better" than the previous one. then everyone buys into it and gets that one only to learn that very little has changed so they get hyped up for the next one that will "be better" and so on and so on lol. That's how it works and it works well, even with a bunch of people hating on it. And I actually enjoyed Fallout 4 so I'm liking 76 so far, I just wish the minor problems I've experienced myself will be fixed soon and not months from now which is when it'll likely be fixed, but it'll be fixed nonetheless. It's rare that any game has a smooth launch, so hopefully they fix it up like they did Fallout 4 because that one was actually pretty fun, even though the main story was annoying "find Shaun this Shaun that.....FUCK THAT KID I DON'T CARE!"

@@fixthesegames6303 Same reason EA thought paid to win lootboxes were fine. People continued to buy loot boxes, which is gambling, so EA decided to push it further. Every single bad thing with the video game industry can all be blamed on us because people keep supporting loot boxes, pre ordering games, giving companies like Bethesda and EA a pass etc.

End of the day we both are too blame consumers and the studios.

Pretty sure I can play Fallout 4 from start to finish right now. I bet all the quests load up and everything is where it is suppose to be. When it first came out, perhaps? But do not hate on Bethesda who has made hundreds of hours of enjoyment for us from morrowind to fallout 4. This cash grab is a joke but fallout 5 will still be incredible. You know it I know it. We all know it. Like that first time you played Oblivion. Or that very first wagon ride in Skyrim. At least Bethesda let you fully experience the product and it has been reviewed by the community before anyone purchases it. That is not a shady way to conduct business.

A real Beta is around month before Release. This is the final game. This Beta Tag is just Hype nonsense for preorder Kids. If this is a real Beta you would write bug Reports. God imagine if they had built 76 in the doom engine. That would have been amazing. Instead they phoned it in as hard as they could.

They need a company that can overhaul FO's RPG game design as well. The fact that the gunplay was the only good thing people say FO4 had that they didn't even design really shows the real weakness in their company's direction.

Todd Howard doubles down and says the reason they are using the same engine in their new IP is their fans don't mind the bugs and long loading times, bc they love the immersion they bring to their worlds. And Howard mentioned good for modding community so no plans to ever stop using same engine..Ok fine but at least fix all the shit eventually before releasing more DLC or CC content. Skyrim is released on every platform, and re-released and every single glitch is still in the game. Brand new full retail price point of an old game, can't even re-optimize or fix any bugs. Bethesda is an embarrassment to American developers, lazy and now greedier then ever.

I have a 1080 and even if I play it without mods I get lag. I could always forgive Bethesda because of the modding support they would put into their games but now that I see it's just pure laziness and greed, they have no intention of fixing their games and Creation Club is dirty, so dirty. They put Creation Club in now so they can exploit it in their later games. Did you know fallout 4 creation club mods actually break your game? Trust me google it, I pirated them to test them out, my game broke and I had to start a new one because it was that fucked. So the poor people that bought them can't even play their own game and Bethesda still has no intention to fix them.

Christopher Balsom Course not. Hell, when this was announced I was so excited! It’s a concept that COULD work well! But, of course, they got lazy. The game is shit. It’s not about “trying new things”. If you do something unoriginal but do it really WELL, it’ll be better than something NEW but LAZY.

i like the map of fallout 76, the graphics and weapons/ armour look cool, but fallout fans have officially convinced me that the franchise as a whole is pretty average. i'd hardly call myself a fallout fan, but i do like the concept of it

I'm a Fallout fanboy, but even I cant justify this.

try fallout Miami on fallout new vegas it has good story good dialogue and slightly improve texture and graphics new miami map try it out its free and then think what is going on in fallout 76, am a big fan but this shit is garbage beside the generic multiplayer mod.

Fallout 76 doesn't even need to be as bad as Andromeda to be a massive failure anyway. That's a pretty low bar

It had mediocre facial expressions, stiff conversation animations, bad graphic textures and shadows, still useless ragdoll physics, generic quests, clunky movement and a very bad story. People just don't want to hear Bethesda looking bad, when their games are generally mediocre. Bioware makes 1 bad game and people disown them. Bethesda makes half-assed, blandly designed games and people make up reasons to accept it as tripple A.

The irony is Bethesda made a "we're there for the SP-players" promotion following that.

ESO still sucks. Atleast Bethsda kept the gameplay the same and didnt add in those fucking MMO ability timers and locked classes.

Actually they have a very good refund policy which has been reported by a ton of users who refunded F76

@@shkpotter9844 Refunds are only available for pre-orders BEFORE the game launches. Once everyone gets their hands on it for more then three hours like in the Beta, they will get tired of it quickly and want a refund. Beth knows this game is empty, so instead of making more content, the solution was to not sell it on Steam or XBL that offers refunds like Steam. This game has everything in place for a nice cash grab.
