@@tysprojects2571 Yes I did! It works a peach! I used a #53 number drill shank ground to length for the replacement pin. It's a perfect fit. Thank you again!
Really nice fix Ty!! That looks like it could be a pain to figure out what's wrong with out help from somebody that has already dealt with it. I'm going to file this one away in case I need to do the same on my wife's 200. Have a great weekend!
@Ty's Projects the cup at the bottom of the spring is upside down. What that effects is the startup pressure that should be 40-45 psi with the lever raised to the first sign of resistance. Full apply pressure should be 235 psi with the engine at the PTO RPM setting. That pressure should not drop off more than 40 psi from operating speed to idle. I would recommend turning that cup over. Also, it is possible to just remove the nut from the top and drop the spool out the bottom. That leaves the spring, cup and shims trapped in place.
My thought was spring/hydraulic tension would retain it. If I could have found a roll pin that small, I would have used that. The drill bit was the smallest piece of metal I could find in the shop. Still working good though!
Thanks for the informative video, Ty. I just acquired a 66 706 gasser. When I move the pto arm, nothing happens. It's also not springy like yours. I am a green horn to tractors. But, thanks for posting this. Take care, Ron
Does the linkage down the rear of the tractor move? There is a little roll pin in the lever that can shear and there will be no resistance and nothing happens. Happened when I was haying. Used a bent nail to get my PTO back. Let me know what you find.
I have a question if you just take off that big plug on the top off and it don't pull out wouldn't that tell you it's not broken and if it come out that it's broken ???
I would think so. You might be able to hook a pressure gauge to a little pipe plug and check the hydraulic pressure for your PTO clutch. If might be a hydraulic flow issue, or it could be the PTO clutch is out.
@@tysprojects2571 funny story I've been working on this pto what feels like forever I purchased the clutches and was gonna do it myself about a month ago once I got the pto off I could tell it was definitely not the clutches that caused the problem it got hot for some reason or a another so I took it to the local deal and paid for all the seals o rings Teflon seals the whole works to be done because I just felt more comfortable having them do it because I don't have a truly clean shop to work in myself so I got it back and have the pressure gage I got it reinstalled but I currently have the block screwed all the way in fluid warm and can only seem to get a max of 140 psi and according to the mechanic I should be between 180 and 200 on my 706 so I'm currently baffled I also did a full hydrant fluid change when I did this as well over filled about 3 gallons to make sure everything was lubed I did try my theory just now and it wouldn't come out the top so idk back to the drawing board. Sorry this was a lengthy reply
Also I just purchased this tractor so I don't know its maintenance routine or if they had one for it at all so please don't assume I'm just neglecting my equipment I'm just now learning about this one lol 😅
