This! I used to be a speech therapist at an alternative school setting, and it always irked me when teachers/paras/specialists did this. It showed that they don’t take into account the child’s feelings, and it’s sad.

You work with special needs and autism yet you still have the puzzle piece in your photo. This has been stated constantly in the autistic community as offensive.

As a mom of a child with ASD I can 💯 tell you most of us struggle with feeling like we aren’t doing enough for our kids! I have worked with my son for years trying to get him to communicate, had others work with him, paid lots of “professionals” it’s not for lack of trying that he doesn’t communicate well. That comment was super hurtful! Thank you for your work with special needs kids, teachers like you are a huge encouragement and help to parents ❤️

I appreciate and understand your comment. I don’t have a personal connection to autism, but I’m a nurse and relate to the exasperation/heartbreak of pouring my entire self into profession filled with barriers and feeling criticized by people for things out of my control. I’ve watched a number of Josh’s videos on this family. I think the underlying opinion that he has is that Abbie has enabled these parents to amass a HUGE amount of wealth that doesn’t seem to be directly spent on providing her with resources, support or anything that directly benefits her (aside from potentially putting money away for future care which is obviously also very important). They seem to present it as though they buy houses, cars and similar assets which automatically must benefit Abbie as they benefit the family. My interpretation of what Josh said is that they can afford to have a huge amount of private care, therapy and support but haven’t done that and have prioritized their spending elsewhere. Basically, Abbie is earning the money but not benefitting from it. I know (especially) moms of autistic children/young adults are their biggest advocates, having to fight incessantly for resources and opportunities. This family doesn’t seem to do that. I believe Josh recognizes and understands the challenges in and facing public education and knows there are limits to what the overwhelmed and overloaded system and individuals can do. Private services may have allowed for a different outcome and though they’re very accessible to this family, they weren’t provided to Abbie. I hope that made sense! I haven’t had coffee yet this morning! Thank you for everything you do. I know we can feel like we’ve put everything physically and emotionally possible into our jobs only to be met with all types of barriers and opinions. I’m positive you’ve permanently impacted so many people who are forever grateful to you. As I’m going to tag the mom who replied to this thread- I think the fact that you advocate and fight for your child is exactly what Josh is looking for in these parents and not finding. I don’t agree with all his commentary but I suspect the underlying message is being frustrated or disappointed that parents wouldn’t give their child everything they possibly could. From your comment it’s abundantly clear you do provide everything and continue to try and provide more on top of that! Sending you lots of care and respect 💛

So ableist man.. people need to start listening to people who are actually autistic. Our voices are more important now than ever.. I feel so sad for this girl, but I hope these parents will educate themselves before she becomes an adult and has to be a part of this society. My heart breaks for her, but these parents are ultimately going to have to face the repercussions of this kind of behavior.

Exactly! It makes me so angry how they sit there and talk about her, ignore her and treat her like she doesn’t understand everything they are saying! It has taken me months to finish this video and I’m still not done because I’ll watch a few minutes and get so angry I have to turn it off. Also if they say “has autism” or “with autism” one more time I’m going to loose it, I understand when people that aren’t autistic or don’t have an autistic person close to them say it because they haven’t been educated on that yet but to have an autistic child, there is no excuse IMO.

Many are focused on the apsect of her selling makeup that has been for all purposes, provided free of charge. However, what I find the most unethical is that she has PUBLICLY stated that she found OLD MAKEUP that she will be posting/selling. In addition, I have reviewed her poshmark post and she does not photograph the lot number/expiration date/months of usage for her makeup related items 😒😒. That's a double whammy in my book

I like this comment because I am deaf and autistic and use signs and can clearly see Abbie is trying to tell them things but she’s being ignored and treated less than her age and is infantilized by all family members. They ignore her often. They sit her on the couch and give her paper to tear up. That's the only thing that keeps her busy! If she isn't busy she's into everything tearing stuff up and or being assaultive.

My youngest was completely nonverbal till he was 5.5 years old and I would say he knew and understood more than most kids his age because his communication was facial expressions and body language. As a side note I highly recommend the GAPS protocol - that's what got my son talking and helped with all his neurological issues.

YES YES YES YES This is so insanely true. One of my top ten complaints about her parents. Dude.. the last sign they taught her was DONUT! TWO YEARS AGO! And they don’t spend ANY time actually teaching her device. Asa will put a new button on for a specific situation, have her hit it a couple times for content , and NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH.. in fact follow through is my number one complaint.. And I guess it’s about Asa, because Cilla does NOTHING teachable to her. She never involves herself In learning, she’s always on her cellphone and wrapped up in her MLM scam

She has a device and uses it. She uses it exactly like an 18-24 month old toddler would. She has no clue about what the device is. She pushes random buttons until she gets the response that Asa wants!! Pay attention!!

I have a channel that discusses autism if you are interested. Also some autistic individuals have an issue with parents who are not autistic who call themselves "autism moms". I respect those who call themselves whatever they like, but sometimes it's a bit controversial because it's taking an autistic individual's identity away. Again, I respect those who label themselves what they want.

Abbie has very little autism. She is profoundly Intellectually Disabled. Asa tapped into the autism buzzword. He knows she's Intellectually Disabled but he refuses to acknowledge it because he's built his house of lies on the autism word and narrative.

The vast majority of IVF clinics have package deals, and since she wants to transfer her 1 remaining frozen embryo, it will cost her next to nothing. Shes just trying to garner sympathy to make money. And I dont think travis is ready to take care of 3 kids and deal with her. He looks horrible and has really bad dark circles under his eyes.

It's funny how she says she is grateful for her family like a broken record but keeps wanting to get herself pregnant. I get it, her choice and one embryo left but it always just seems to me that Channon always wants more like what she has truly isn't enough to her.

I used to watch April and Davy and get all snarkcastic on them at first. I saw them as basically two immature entitled parents who were more like spoiled children than adult parents. Then I saw the episode where one of the little kids was real sick and had to go to the emergency room. I was horrified that April filmed it all. Then I thought for a moment and realized Pricilla needs to stand up for herself. She needs to take the bull by the horns. Abbie knows her mother is passive, you notice she doesn’t abuse Asa! There is a video that was taken when Abbie was around 6, they were at Isiahs ball game and Abbie was hitting, pulling hair and was very aggressive towards Pricilla. Asa was filming the action. It was appalling, Pricilla should have gotten up, and removed Abbie to the car and locked her in her car seat. When she calmed down take her back out. It is like Pricilla is afraid of her, if she doesn’t assert herself now she never will!

@@MGodzik I'm not passive with my son. So your assumption on the reason of why a child would lash out? My son is detail oriented, so when a slight thing is changed, it frustrates him beyond belief. He has hit me, scratched me, bit me, pulled my hair, punched me, head butted me. I feel he gets overwhelmed easily. Any slight thing can cause him distress. And as I said, sometimes its impulsive. And more kids are being tested for these things. Thankfully.
