I was amazed at the lack of fisherman on this Nice day. Not many charter boats, Not many people fishing from the bank or The Rocks. The stripers are hitting better at night than Early Morning. I saw photos of big fish Caught at Night. Many Thanks to the People that Walked up the hill to meet me! I will be floating down from Gaston to Weldon to Check out what the heck is going on. April 14th Should be Prime Rockfish Time. Stay Tuned.

@jodyrose4726 Is it safe to fish there once you cross those rapids? I fly fish and it’s tough to catch stripers from the bank, but I’ve always been told it’s not good to kayak either. I assume once you’ve crossed the heavy flow you can fish safely. Is that the case??? I consider myself to be a moderate kayaker and follow all the safety precautions. Any input is helpful and thanks.

@@dotp71 Yes go straight across from the ramp. Next to the bank there is little current. An anchor will help. I would throw into all that fast water.✌️

@@dotp71 it can be scary and dangerous. My kayak got bunch of water i getting scared fishing the rapids and my phone got wet at the end u can see me trying to fry ur off at the end. But me and my husband normally get off and stand on the rocks and u can catch a lot of rockfish there. We love kayaking and it’s our hobby we love to do

It's right outside Como nc they have boat ramp it's called dock side the river is Nottoway great place to fish mr jeff

I only saw a few fish caught in this video. & They were using live bait. However, I saw photos of nice fish caught in pitch dark. All the charter boats were down stream fishing near that New Odom boat ramp. Tomorrow I will find out what is up, when I float from Gaston to Weldon. The water temp is almost 65* with these warm days. I'm bringing my top water rod, to test them out.

@@doubleplay4 decided to float today. Put in at 12:30. Caught a few. Flood gates were open at the dam. If I had known this I would not have gone. Got one big female.

You can't keep any Stripe Bass out of this River. But you can catch them & Release.

Tiz, could you tell me what video where you talked about the waste of taxpayer dollars for the “boat slide” they came up with? There was fish there yesterday...well i caught them anyway...ended up with 15 total off the rocks 12 in the morning before lunch 3 later in the afternoon. One other guy on the rocks caught 1....maybe everyone just not holding their mouths right lol

@jefftiz1 yeah. Water still on the cool side and still a ton of fish wayyyy down river. But also big fish upriver. Theyre spread out everywhere. They will show up in full force in the next week with this warm weather trend.
