I think Wonder Woman was decent, and would've been good if the final act hadn't been a bland CGI fight, and I think Shazam was actually pretty entertaining... but "ZSJL", as you call it, is a poorly written, badly paced mess that demolishes all of its major characters. Well, at least we seem to agree on the entire rest of the DCEU. Worst one so far? I'd probably have to say Birds of Prey, but Wonder Woman 1984 is a hot contender...

@@imirkksome2476 I don't think Josh Whedon is bad per say. It's that Snyder has his tone and so does Whedon and neither one is objectively worse or better, it's up to preference. Snyder was already halfway in making JL when Whedon was bought in to make is more "marvel like". That miss match in tone and the forced jokes really fucked up the original. Then there was the run time they were forced to shorten it to 2 hrs so naturally they had to cut out a lot of bits. The main thing at fault here is corporate greed neither director is explicitly to blame. Still disappointed to see there won't be more of the snyder-verse because I want more of darksied and I want injustice to happen.

The animated movies are the same kind of slam dunk as the live action ones. More hype than quality. As in, they're not bad, but when you have movies like Spiderverse, your limited TV budget movie universe looks like pretty forgettable.

The fact that he made this video confirms that he is in “Cognitive Dissonance” too because in his mind, the film will an overrated mess regardless of the success it might get. He indirectly judged the film before watching it and by that the theory APPLIES to him. In the end, this guy proved to me that he is biased as well, in the sense that he is against Snyder artistic vision and no matter what, the film to him will bad or overrated mess.

@@MovieConvo you can justify anything with cognitive dissonance, it's harder to prove. I think it's more usefull to look for emotional resonance. Avengers Endgame had success because of the emotional payoff it brings people. The Snyder cut, even if bad, will bring some sort of payoff for the Snyder cut fans, I will be happy just to see it, to know it exists and witness its existence, it's not cognitive dissonance.

I have so many friends who say DC sucks simply because of the two movies (JL and BvS). I just want to prove them wrong that DC has good characters and that Marvel isn't the best. (Obviously, I'm bias against Marvel because I prefer DC heroes).

The mere fact that the Russian family isn't in Zack Snyder's Justice League is already better than the Whedon cut.

You can laugh all you want, but the Snyder cut will be the vision that he wanted. Zack himself said that the movie we will get will have "no compromise", it literally has his name on the title, it's his movie.

BvS had a choppy theatrical release, but the directors cut fixed all the problems that were left out of the movie. Those two movies are very good comic book movies in my opinion and did very well at trying something different from every other cookie cutter superhero movie that was out at the time. Those two movies were very story and character driven and I enjoyed that a lot. The only reason people say that Wonder Woman and Aquaman are like the top DCEU movies were because they were designed like a more simple marvel movie that’s easier to digest. MoS and BvS UE made me feel like I was reading an actual graphic novel and I absolutely loved that. Don’t get me wrong I love the MCU movies too, but they more or less just make me feel like I’m watching colorful action movies with comic book characters in them. The DCEUs darker, slower more story driven movies were a big breath of fresh air for me compared to all of the other reskined superhero movies at that time. I’m not saying itswrong to have a simple movie here and there because I mean that’s how comics are too, but when you have the main big events of a story, they shouldn’t be treated like any other superhero movie. MoS and BvS UE are very underrated movies and did not deserve the hate they got and I think people are finally starting to realize that. Especially after everything that BvS set up just for Justice League to be so “meh” and not really go anywhere.

A videogame works different than a movie. With Cyberpunk the company were the ones hyping it, but also once it was released it was filled with bugs that affected your experience, thus ruining it. With JL the fans were the ones harasing WB, so they're way more emotionally invested and, since they aren't interacting with the product, is more likely that they'll say it's the 8th wonder of the world. Also, most of Snyder's fans are known for being edgy boys who can't handle a critic, so if someone dares to say it isn't that good they'll go crazy.

Seriously question, why does anyone care about “the unfairness and mistreatment” of a director that had to step away from the project due to his daughter’s tragic death? When he left the project it was in an extremely early stage in the editing process. The backlash against the über grittiness of BvS convinced the studio to bring in the funny TV man who directed that other superhero crossover movie for editing and reshoots. It’s not like Snyder could have completed it if he wanted to, again he had to step away. Also, as a fan of DC Comics and a huge fan of the near perfect DC Animated Universe of the 90’s and early 2000’s, Zack Snyder is not making movies about the superheroes I love, he has his own take on them that does not jive with the heroes I love.

The difference between Snydercut and Star Wars is that there was no investment in SW. You went in hoping it would renew your fandom and it didnt. With the Snydercut a lot of ppl (myself kinda included wanna hate on marvels funny light tone and like dcs serious tone and want it to suceed) long as its a much better just decent movie itll be seen as a great movie. The difference between Snydercut and GOT is ppl were invested in their theories not the show being amazing for the final season and were let down. Nobody has theories about Snydercut (trust me im a big theory guy) im just sitting back and hoping to enjoy the show. But I agree with Film Theory long as the film is at least decent it will be seen as a huge success.
