To be fair, Thrall did leave advisors behind to try to guide Garrosh into leading the horde with honour. Garrosh killed one of them in a duel and sent assassins to kill another in Pandaria. When he started stringing people up on the city walls, Thrall joined the rebellion that helped stop him. He even pleaded with him in the raid to stand down.

9:20 Chat probably told you, but hey responding as we watch to reactions is a thing. The game doesn't have the continual progression through expansions that FFXIV does. Whether that was a good decision or not who can say but the game doesn't focus on the story as much so they made the decision to let you play through ANY expansion to get from 1-60. Now this is different for new accounts, because you don't have a max level character yet (or this might only be Level 60) so you have to play through the Battle for Azeroth expansion. They're actually changing this to Dragonflight once the new expansion hits. But once you've hit Level 60, on any other characters you can go to an NPC named Chromie in the capital of your faction. She lets you choose another "timeline" to play through. Now even when doing this you're going to out-level the expansion long before completing the story but you can always go back.

the thing about the burning Legion that made them such a huge threat was the fact they were basically immortal, and they were going around burning other worlds snuffing them all of life in their Burning Crusade, yes the demons can die... but they eventually become reborn the one thing the Legion feared was the the Void for if they were ever killed within the realm of twisting nether (where all their souls go to) which the void had the power to do so, they die permanently

My character in the game saw this incident happen and had _no_ context as to why the Horde abandoned them, he was _really_ pissed off. But as the game progressed, he discovered why the Horde supposedly left them to die. The Horde was overrun and suffered a major casualty. Their warchief was put out of commission, and had no choice but to retreat. Then his attitude changed.

man, Yrel, the female space goat from WoD that you see a bunch of times, is still one of my favorite characters in the franchise, they did so well in having you travel alongside her and help her out (as alliance player) while growing into the leadership role that was thrust upon her by velen when he sacrificed himself... *spoilers* -and the maraad did the same.- -then they f*cking assassinated her character (as in personality), just to introduce a new sub-race for the horde, though i never got around to playing their introduction quest, so idk details- also, looking back at these cutscenes, WoD as a whole was kind of a treat for people who have been with warcraft for a long time and know their lore, because you see so many more-or-less important characters and locations in a "what if?" scenario. for example the building you are in at 19:40 is just a ruin in the main timeline and the area you commented had beautiful trees is literally an ashen, grey desert, because the horde basically nuked that draenei holy site by summoning an elemental lord within it. 23:45 man, the people saying that garrosh did nothing wrong have very.... selective memory. because garrosh used to have honor, for example he killed a general that genocided a bunch of innocent, defenseless druids; he was disgusted by sylvanas reanimating the dead to have them fight against their former allies and several more things. but he became unhinged, partially from outside influences, partially just due to his nature, from my understanding, trying to push his own ideals onto the horde, despite the majority of the horde disagreeing, which culminated in the Siege of Orgrimmar. which also meant he became hella racist along the way, basically only seeing tauren as equals to orcs, because of their strength, every other horde race was 2nd class... or lower. also as i said in the other video, while using anything other than your body and the weapon you brought in the orcish honor-duel is cheating, the elements, i.e. the planet itself decided to answer thralls summon, because they hated garrosh. 27:40 fun fact: being super aggressive is actually *not* part of orcish culture. orcs are fierce warriors, but the individual tribes on draenor were actually pretty peaceful. they are basically comparable to native american tribes, where they have a warrior culture, some more than others, but in genral, are a peaceful people. ~ 37:00 its weird to me that they never combined these mission minigames with the "scenario" mini dungeons they had in pandaria, so sometimes, when the ship finishes its mission, you get prompted to join a single-players scenario that takes like 5 to 10min and gives you additional rewards. would be fun and make it more engaging. heck, they even had a kinda similar system in WoD with garrison invasions, but those were a pain to trigger and do, as fun as the idea itself was. 44:30 dont worry man, all good. anyone who follows streamers for a while knows they sometimes watch through OBS :-P also, man, that cutscene is fantastic. seeing it again just now reminded me of all the shi* that varian has been through and STILL he ultimately decided to trust the horde and chose peace, because his son showed him that its the correct thing to do. ...and then his son is tested on these very same convictions, even more than varian ever was. 1:06:00 this is a great example of the split storytelling between alliance and horde, because i _believe_ you initially dont learn about why the horde retreated as alliance (been a while, i might be wrong, but i think you learn the backstory eventually:) the glorious, combined assault by azeroths forces went right into the legions trap, the horde forces, still weakened from their civil war, were meant to support the alliances main force, but got ambushed by a legion portal in their back. sylvanas got a direct order from her warchief, to ensure survival of the horde and so she did. absolutely 0 blame on her in this situation. also varian was one of the biggest chads to ever walk the planet, next to grommash hellscream and a select few others. 1:14:10 again, the mixing is the fault of the person recording, because these actual ingame cutscenes use your ingame volume settings, so that guy had voices turned way down and music way up. i assume whoever put this video together just grabbed these cutscenes from around the net (and didnt normalize volume, because people that dont work in audio never do) i love that literally no one could remember that hyper HD gul'dan cutscene, but we all know its not from the movie, lmao. 1:21:13 there is a bunch of stuff missing which causes the airship to go down. pretty sure its ingame cutscenes that take your characters control away from you... but its not lore relevant. man, the ysera (the big dragon) cutscene still makes me tear up a bit. my first and favorite character is a NElf, ysera is kind of a matron of "my people" and shes only ever been good to all mortal races... only for us having to have to kill her. but at least elune, my peoples goddess, took her favored child home. sorry again for the wall of text :-p i really enjoy watching someone looking at the game and its story itself with an open mind and being free of bias, because seeing the vast majority of online discourse around it for the last several years is really disheartening, when the game itself is still good and fun to play and the story, all in all, is still interesting and this doesnt even account for all the smaller, wonderful sub-stories you encounter in your adventure that make the world truly come to life.

I always appreciate when people unfold their thoughts like you did here :P One point that I find interesting is the Mak'gora between Thrall and Garrosh and the whole Thrall cheats debacle. I was initially on that boat, because he did lose his connection with the elements, but that doesn't really make sense, since the key difference between shamanism and warlocks is that shamans commune and warlocks dominate, so that would imply that Thrall had become a warlock (or a dark shaman) to some extend, since the elements probably wouldn't "obey" if they didn't agree. The reason to Thrall's loss of connection was on his own part - he had inner turmoil due to killing Garrosh, he realized that Garrosh was right about much of what he said (Garrosh was a warrior and did warrior things as Warchief) and there was probably a part of Thrall that did feel like using the elements in a Mak'gora was dishonorable. I don't know if there's a precedent of any type of magic being honorable during a Mak'Gora, but shamanism feels like the closest since both Mak'Gora and shamanism are ancient orcish traditions and both are said to execute the will of the land. You made a wall of text and I made a bunch of runoff sentences :P
@srkares
@srkares 3 месяца назад
@@SimplyConeh totally agreed that the main reason the elements didnt answer thrall was within himself, in that way hes like anduin currently. and blizz loves using the literary tool of repetition in their stories. plus also, why would the actual elemental spirits care about the customs of an orc duel being broken. shamanism isnt exclusive to orcs, they dont care that much about them and the elements generally also dont like "order" and thus rules, im pretty certain. i guess one school of thought is that thrall _did_ force the elements, becoming a dark shaman in that moment (warlocks dont have anything to do with the elements, their power comes from the fel/sargeras himself and the former orc shamans picked it up because it was a source of magic that was easily and readily to control, unlike the elements) and thats why they dont answer him anymore. but on the other hand its even more likely that the elements *did* answer in that moment, because garrosh literally ordered the enslavement of the elements via his dark shamans and they wanted revenge. as for how honorable using magic in mak'gora is... if it wasnt specifically a duel *to the death* i would agree with magic being illegal. if it were to _just_ settle a dispute by seeing who the greater warrior is, it'd be fine to limit it. but since apparently its invoked for causes you are ready to die for, why wouldnt you use your entire arsenal. also, actually looking at the fan wiki just now, it points out that literally the only set rule of a mak'gora was "to the death" and even that was ignored time and time again in history. magic was never explicitly forbidden, neither is armor, for example. the rules are entirely set by the participants.
@SimplyConeh
@SimplyConeh 3 месяца назад
@@srkares I also went in a bit of a rabbit hole with the whole magic thing and what I arrived at was that it should generally be a fair fight - equal weapons, equal armour, etc. Unless other rules have been agreed on. As I see it, Garrosh did acknowledge that Thrall was a shaman: “so be it, shaman” (I’m on my phone, so I’m paraphrasing) and I’d say that’s Garrosh accepting mak’gora against a shaman, not just a warrior. The elements are also not a hive mind and we can see them be prideful, jealous, angry with events happening on the planet they reside on, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to think that they don’t observe and influence orc customs and traditions, such as mak’gora, on Draenor. I can’t remember which book it was - one with Ner’zul - where he went to commune with the elements and ancestors - at least that’s how I recall it, with the implication that noble ancestors become one with the elements. I might want to look at getting a refresher on my orc lore though :P

The thing with the horde is once a Warchief is in a leadership position there is not much that can be done. You can try and plead your case but otherwise you're kind of out of luck. The previous leader of the Tauren Cairne Bloodhoof actually challenged Mak'gorra to Garrosh. Cairne was beating Garrosh soundly until he got hit by Gorehowl. Unknown to Garrosh a Grimtotem tauren, sworn enemy of Thunderbluff and the Bloodhoof's, put a poison on his axe. Thus Cairne ended up dying in the challenge. Baine was pissed, but he understood that Garrosh didn't cheat, and was sabotaged. Thus he fell in line with Garrosh regardless of his feelings, knowing that he couldn't beat Garrosh in combat.

The problem with the Garrosh stuff is that by this point he had already done so many bad things. I can't list them but they do list them in the War Crimes novel which is about his trial (before he goes back in time to this alternate Draenor and starts the Iron Horde). He says he regrets nothing, and he's kind of beyond redemption at this point (to most people). They took a cool character that could have gone somewhere and hit him with the villain bat. By the end, he just needed to go, he had done/caused too much harm.

1:20:00 Illidan is NOT in the movie. It is 100% from the game. No ifs ands or buts. Gul'Dan took Illidan's body as a vassal for Sargeras. It is explained in the Raid where Gul'Dan dies as we stop the ritual & Illidan's soul goes back into his body then disenchanting Gul'Dan as he did Varian.

The scene were Varian (and Voljin) dies, the Alliance and some player may think that this was lost because Sylvanas ordering retreat, but it was lost anyway: there was simply no way to win this battle. That's how real battles are. Real battles don't have plot armor and dramatic moments to just turn around things. You just die. That's it. You can changa outcome by using good tactics and strategy vs bad ones, but in the end, there is only so much you can chance Sad enough, people are so used to (badly written) fictional hero stories, that they even think that real life works that way, what you see when it comes to real wars. They treat it like a video game and then think that something like for example in FF14 would be even close to possible. In RL if you for example got some ultra high tech, continent sized nation like Garlemald and you got go war with it, you just get obliterated. And they wouldn't even have to put much effort into it. They got hypersonic(! - that's ~6000+ km/h) bomber, some of them as big as a small city, which got cannons that can fire small nukes. Even just crashing one of the smaller ships into one of the Eorzan towns with that speed would obliterate the town just by the impact of the crash. How do 'we' win in FF14? Well, the 'bad guys' simply never do anything, we simply win by plot armor. And then some people think that this is how things work in general.

The most easy and fast way to power for a mortal is to serve a cosmic force - but in general this pretty much always comes with becoming a pawn in one way or another of that cosmic force. WoW lore and story is full of people who chose the easy path - what includes Medivh - thinking that they could be the one in control, but all of them failed. Khadgar learned that well: there is no easy and fast way to such power and whoever promisses it, is a liar and wants to manipulate you into servitude.

The next cutscenes (illidan, Argus cutscenes and the Antorus finale) are the most important and impactful ones so far. Specifically the Antorus finale. The context of Antorus is you're fighting the legion on their homeworld and killing their leadership in the one place they can actually die without respawning, while trying to free the souls of the dead Titan gods and stop Sargeras, the lord of the Burning Legion and the last living Titan, from destroying Azeroth. For context of what the Titans even are, they're the closest thing to a true "god" you can get. A weakened prematurely born baby Titan is a threat to the whole universe, and Sargeras, the most powerful Titan and the one who killed the others, has been destroying the multiverse across every timeline with his infinite demon army. Titans are like the Marvel Celestials that incubate inside planets and emerge as gods when they're born. Argus is the homeworld of the Draenei, and has a Titan soul inside it. Sargeras has been using the world-soul in Argus to instantly respawn his trillions of demons whenever they die, making his army infinite. Argus is basically a tortured baby being used like a battery. Sargeras wants to destroy Azeroth because it has an unborn Titan soul inside it strong enough to rival him. So far Sargeras has killed, used like a battery, or gave an abortion to every other known Titan except Azeroth. The reason WHY Sargeras is ending the multiverse and killed all the other Titans is because he found out about the Void, the infinitely hungering space beyond creation that wants to end all things. He found out when he came across an unborn Titan world-soul being corrupted by eldritch horrors called Old Gods, which are creations of the Void. A Void-powered Titan would be the most powerful being in existence and end the multiverse immediately, leaving dead space and entropy for eternity. His solution was to purge the multiverse of all life and all other Titans, so he could start everything from scratch and create a new healthy universe he could monitor closely and ensure there's no chance of a Void Titan being made. He's actually killed a few unborn Void Titans with the Legion, so Sargeras saved the universe a lot. The issue is the OTHER Titans found Azeroth at the same time Sargeras learned about the Void. Just like the world-soul Sargeras found, Azeroth was infested with void horrors slowly corrupting her. Instead of of killing the unborn Azeroth, the Titan pantheon found a way to contain the corruption and realized Azeroth might be the strongest Titan capable of defending the universe against the Void once she was born. When they met back up with Sargeras, they had a "disagreement" on how to handle the situation, and Sargeras killed them all since he couldn't convince them of his plan. Admittedly, his plan is the only way to guarantee the Void loses and the multiverse stays safe. The problem is nobody really knows the true danger of the Void except the Titans, the Legion, and people directly involved with the Void. Also Sargeras never reached Azeroth to destroy her because he just didn't know where it was in physical space, since it's one planet across the whole universe. He had to rely on small portals to send his armies or small avatars through, until Legion when they found its actual location after getting an army on the planet and were then able to send spaceships over, and eventually Sargeras himself. For reference to the Titan/Void stuff on Azeroth.... the largest city on the planet is called Ulduar. It's a monolithic bastion everyone thought was a city for the Titans servants, guarded beyond belief with the most advanced technology anyone had seen and inhabited by the defacto most powerful beings on the planet, that the Titans themselves created to keep Azeroth safe. Everybody THOUGHT Ulduar was a city. It was actually one big prison for an Old God named Yogg'saron. Almost all the Titan Keepers(demigods created by the Titans) and the titanforged armies stationed at ulduar used it as a seat of power on the planet, but were mainly there to made sure Yogg'saron didn't escape. There were 4 Old Gods in total, created by the Void Lords to corrupt unborn titans. Y'shaarj was the most powerful and the Titan Aman'thul ripped the Old God out of the planets crust when they first arrived, which created a huge scar in the planet and almost killed the world-soul. The Titans couldn't kill the Old Gods without killing the soul of Azeroth since the Old Gods influence spread too deep, so the remaining 3 (Yogg'Saron, C'thun and N'zoth) were imprisoned. All the Titanforged demigods called Keepers and the armies the Keepers were given were made to fight the Old Gods on the ground and imprison them. -N'zoth was the weakest and the first to fall, but he was the most clever and was the only Old God to fully escape later on. -C'thun was the least clever, but had enough brute force and big enough armies to give the Titan Keepers trouble. -Yogg'saron was the most powerful of the three Old Gods, and had the wits to match N'zoth.
@popfloydplays788
@popfloydplays788 6 месяцев назад
Old Gods! -Yogg'saron was the last Old God to be imprisoned, and nearly won the war by a landslide on his own. Yogg'sarons prison is the largest Titan installation/building on the planet, which he nearly escaped millennia later after manipulating and corrupting the Keepers from inside his cell. He was the second Old God players fought and is the only Old God confirmed to still be alive. We snapped the Keepers out of their madness and helped them push Yogg'saron back into his prison, where he remains dormant to this day. -C'thun was the first Old God players fought. He hadn't fully escaped his prison, but its guardians and defenses were lost to time. C'thun eventually woke up to see an empty desert around his forgotten prison, and sat dormant while he recovered over time. Silently, he built up armies of insectoid creatures and had them build an isolated civilization, creating a vast city around C'thuns prison. They worshipped him and obeyed him in solitude, but eventually elves stumbled across the desert and disturbed C'thuns dormant empire. Almost as soon as the elves had discovered the insects, endless swarms poured out of the black city Ahn'qiraj(build around C'thuns prison) and destroyed everything in their path. They quickly expanded outside of their home desert and threatened to consume the whole continent if left unchecked, leading to the War of the Shifting Sands where elves and dragons(which the Titans empowered to guard the planet) eventually re-contained C'thun and his minions. A barrier was formed around Ahn'qiraj, stopping C'thun or his minions from escaping for thousands of years. In Classic WoW, bugs find a way outside the barrier and start to trickle out. Even a fraction of their full force was a threat to the continent so the Horde and Alliance teamed up to break into the city and kill C'thun once and for all. They sort of killed him, it's unclear if ANY of the old gods(except Y'shaarj) are really dead. MOST IMPORTANTLY, C'THUNS PRISON IS DIRECTLY WHERE SARGERAS STABBED THE PLANET. THE SWORD IS LIKE 3 FEET FROM C'THUNS PRISON, AND EVERYTHING AROUND THE CITY OF AHN'QIRAJ WAS OBLITERATED WHILE THE CITY SOMEHOW WAS UNHARMED. If C'thun is actually alive and shielded the black city from the swords impact, I wouldn't be surprised. -N'zoth was the last Old God that players fought. N'zoth was the only Old God to fully escape their prison, which he manipulated players and events into causing. This is the first and only time we've seen what Old Gods look like unleashed(in-game), his head was literally part of the skybox. You go inside of him and nuke his brain with an old-god killing superweapon orbital strike. He's the most likely to be dead because his brain was exploded by a weapon specifically made to destroy Old God corruption. HOWEVER, he predicted major events that happened AFTER his death and saw us a billion years ago when we time-traveled and he looked into our minds, which means he SAW his own death and he KNEW exactly how things would end, so he probably weaseled his way out of it somehow and is still alive or set things in motion that would make him "win" after he died. IF N'zoth is truly dead, it didn't damage the planet because when he died, he was in another dimension. He wasn't physically on Azeroth anymore, so killing him couldn't damage it. -Y'shaarj. The strongest and most fearsome Old God, the undisputed strongest thing on the planet in its history. He dominated the other Old Gods when they warred with each other for control of the planet, and the monolithic Well of Eternity that caused the sundering of the world was actually the wound left from ripping Y'shaarj out of the planets crust. Some body parts rained down from the sky from Aman'thuls hand, and with his last breath, Y'shaarj cursed the land around him to forever linger in the shadow of his seven heads. His body parts were recovered and contained by the Titan Keepers, separated and spread across the planet into safe containment. His curse never left though. It manifested the seven Sha. The Shas of Pride, Fear, Anger, Doubt, Despair, Hatred, and Violence. Wherever these emotions manifested in mortals, so would the Sha. These vile monsters reflected and amplified the worst traits of mortals, and the Pandaren who inhabited the cursed land of Pandaria learned to master their emotions and live in harmony. Sha were basically unheard of for hundreds of years until the Alliance and Horde brought their war to Pandaria, which caused chaos across the continent and nearly resurrected Y'shaarj. His still-beating heart was used by Garrosh Hellscream to destroy the Vale of Eternal blossoms, and brought to Orgrimmar as a source of power. Even destroyed, Y'shaarj still "lived". Those around the heart could hear his whispers and feel his very real presence. Y'shaarj amplified the worst parts of Garrosh and was part of what drove Garrosh so mad with power. Y'shaarj is "dead", but.... is death something Y'shaarj is even capable of? Was something like him ever truly alive?

yeah...glowy eyes are sort of a kink in Blizzard 😀 Also I was always Horde main, and I don't think there is ANYONE in Horde who would not REspect Varian - he was embodiment of Horde Honor Ysera's death scene left me broken back then. I main Druid and I was always loved Ysera and Green Flight. The fact that they resurected her in Shadowlands was really hard for me. On one had I was extremely happy to see her again, on the other...It felt kinda like a poor plot device (whitch I still think it was)

Garrosh was forced to take leadership and responsability at the worst time of the hordes history. They had no food, unfarmable land and no one was willing to trade with them. His advisors constantly bickered with him and had no solutions. Garrosh told thrall he was a warrior not a warchief and pleaded not to give him the title.

27:30 Saw someone in your chat mention it. Yeah sure, Thrall left behind Vol'jin and Cairne to give Garrosh guidance. But they near immediately refused to actually provide that guidance. The whole thing was written terribly, with the only shining light being how Garrosh was represented in Stonetalon Mountains AND how he was represented in Silverpine Forest.
@yannym4605
@yannym4605 6 месяцев назад
His representation in Silverpine was to initiate an invasion of Gilneas using Forsaken troops in the hopes that it would lead to a double genocide of both the Forsaken and the Gilneans so that he could then take both territories for his Orcs...

yeah, WoW is addictive like that, hence why i am taking a break before The War Within, as i'll be in no-life mode when it comes out. btw some fans want the game to be remade in Unreal Engine 5, but Blizzard has had a standard about keeping Low-End PCs capable of playing WoW, which is why the game looks more stylish than realistic, it's an intentional choice.

The people sayin' thrall cheated don't know how the damn challenge even works. Unless specified BEFORE the fight, nothing is off limits. Each one has it's own rules, if any are even decided upon. Garrosh nor thrall never ruled out the use of magic. Fuckin' Warcraft movies ruined people's idea of what the Mak'gora even is.

garrosh did a LOT wrong. those claiming otherwise are either attempting satire, or being wilfully ignorant. everything he did, after becoming warchief, was for garrosh, and garrosh's power. power corrupts, and garrosh had a HUGE chip on his shoulder. still think Saurfang would have made a better choice, but thrall felt guilty for not saving grommash, and felt he owed garrosh due to the debt he felt towards his father. dumb reason to make him warchief? yeah.. but other than the normal hellscream rage, garrosh hadn't shown his true colours until he got power.
@deathi

garrosh really did nothing wrong, the night elves were refusing diplomatic trade during cataclysm, the mak'gora he did with cairne magtha grimtotem poisoned gorehowl to assassinate cairne and have the grimtotem tribe take over thunder bluff, theramore bombing, he staged the offensive outside of theramore for days giving more than enough time for civilians to evacuate and more troops get there for him to destroy it. only thing garrosh did wrong was use y'sharjj's heart for more power
@mailowmailow5207
@mailowmailow5207 5 месяцев назад
It doesn't matter whether or not he gave civilians time to evacuate the manabomb itself is a warcrime much like throwing an atom bomb in real life is
@mailowmailow5207
@mailowmailow5207 5 месяцев назад
Also while he didn't poison the weapon himself he refused to send help to thunder bluff to repel the grimtotems AND he started to discriminiate the other races of the horde. Jesus when you leave half of the atrocities garrosh did out obviously he sounds like a saint

The most powerful peopel in WoW are all NPC - what is important, because it would make zero sense if the armies of player characters would be so powerful, even more because they simply can't die, be corrupted, fall and so on. If you take FF14 - as a player you even MUST ignore the whole story and your playercharacter in it as soon as you talk to other players, because you would have that spiderman meme - with thousands of spidermen pointing at each other. It overall doesn't work at all to make the player character super special in MMORPGs. Even less when you don't put in the effort to give any kind of choice. You are super special - but still must do what others demand from you? Why? Why are you forced to follow the Scions who only lie to you and exploit you with their insane plans? Why are you forced to serve warmongers like the Eorzans warlords with their insanity and unwillingness to even form a working nation and do nothing about all the problems they just throw you at to temporarerly murder them? Why are you forced to serve a false god who is really just a genocidal maniac that killed and distorted all life on your planet, including yourself? If you are one of many, just a soldier, it's one thing when you have to go along with this. But if you are the ultra chosen one who is the only solution to everything, there is ZERO reason to be so powerless. After HW it became worse and worse and you are not only forced in one as stupid as murderous plans after another, but always nod and smile to it. FF14 is one of the few stories that made me hate my own character - or better what the developers forced her to be. I wouldn't have killed the Scions - but I would never helped them. Minfilia gave a reason in the beginning, to learn about the primals and find a solution (so... what Garlemald tries to to do the whole time). But after Minfilia gone (and hell, no one ever questions this, while it is super fucked up, that that thing just orders her to finish herself off to become a sock puppet), what was left of the Scions was just a bunch of crazy warmongers full of themselves and the sole reason their plans didn't just kill everyone but themselves was that it is a fictional story and the writers just decide for it to work anyway - mostly by making tha antagonists stupid and by just dedicing that driving full speed against a wall will created a cake instead of a crash.
