My mom watched me play the original Final fantasy 7 when i was younger, she has recently heard about the remake and watched some videos on it, she is now very excited as she wants me to take my PS5 over for a weekend so she can watch me play the new remake .

Played the original in 97. Absolutely loved remake. Rebirth looks even better! What a great time to be a gamer.

Not sure of everybodys definition of openworld but the director actually said the game is a openworld with seamless interconnected regions. There is also verticality to it and you'll need specific chocobos to be able to climb or fly.

3:26 There appears to be a summon available for each region that you can collect by defeating them in Chadly’s virtual arena; they are very, very hard fights; you weaken them by finding and activating the hidden divine intel zone in each region; I heard this takes them down to 1/2 strength

Quick clarification: I do believe the developers have stated that the zones are connected seamlessly with no loading screens. I guess "open world" could also imply that the player can experience the story in a non-linear way--which i don't think applies here--but this game is "open world" in all other senses of the term.

Did people really think they would cut Cait Sith?? Sure, he was probably the least played character by a substantial margin but his character had a pretty big role in the original's story...

For more context for anyone who doesn't know, the third disc had to contain a lot of prerendered CGI cutscenes, which left little room for actual content. With the first two discs covering 98% of the game, the structure here makes perfect sense.

I just bought FF7R last week on steam as my first FF game ever. I havnt been able to put it down, it's so amazing. I can't wait for this to release on PC

The thing im most excited for part 2 is just the Re-imagining of the golden saucer. I hope its just as crazy, depraved, and wacky fun house as before and they dont hold back. The mini games and all that should be a treat. It HAS to be one of he BIG highlights of Part 2

Ah, FINALLY someone acknowledging that the bonding mechanic was already present in the OG FFVII, even though hidden. Hearing it presented as a new thing from so many professional outlets drove me crazy... Thank you Falcon!

Disc 3 was basically the end. I believe the only reason it was needed was because the the ending was so big it needed its own Disc to fit it.

This game and the trilogy as a whole would be considered the best game of all time when its all said and done.

I just hope they chill on the fetch quests that 16 was full of. I loved the battles in 16 but there were so many stupid uselesa quests

Rebirth makes me want to buy a PS5. I played Remake on PS4 and loved it. Can’t wait to see the playthroughs

Bought FF7 on PS 1 in 1997. Double CD Jewel case. Didn't think it would be good. It was so good, friends would come over to watch me play it. We started alternating who's playing so we could complete it

I remember buying the PS1 with FF7 through grey import for (back then) about 1500 guilders - 700 euro's-ish today. How time has flown and how excited I am for this iteration is uncanny!

This is my most anticipated game of the year! So hyped. Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 reload surprised me and I bet this game will blow my mind. So hyped.

The thing for me is i want my summons from the Remake playthrough. I think Bahamut didn't get the glory it deserves because of the limited areas we could summon him.

Already pre-ordered and taken time off work to play this masterpiece. The wait is killing me though.

I'm so glad the exclusivity deal is only 3 months. Might still take 6 months to a year to see it on PC tho but if the PC port is as good as 15 was then it's worth the wait.

I loved Triple Triad, even joined an online version of it and played that for years and met some cool people through it. FF games really do make some great mini games

8:00 - I can say this with the utmost sincerity, I sucked at "Triple Triad" mainly because I didn't understand how the mechanics worked 🙈

The one thing i hated about the remake was that your rolls didnt have I-frames, got tired of getting wacked every time an enemy decided to attack.

I think I saw somewhere that they said there was no planned Vincent DLC at the moment. They said that the story they are going to tell with him would be enough to “please the fans”.

I really hope they nail the Gold Saucer, one of my favorite moments in video game history was running around that place.

I always SUUUUUPER appreciate it when they make it fairly easy to respect your ability points in RPGs. As some of us wants to experiment on different play styles.

They’ve actually said that by the end of the game that you’ll be able to walk/traverse from one end of the map to the other, without being obstructed by zones. Although I take your point it is open zones and chapter/story based progression. Nice videos 😊

10:41 the buggy is likely back due to the devs having the desert blockade from the original game. there were quicksand barriers around the Corel Prison, making it impossible to escape it, once inside. the buggy was the only way to cross the desert. it was also our only way to cross rivers, so perhaps there will be unpassable river sections in the world? But, we did see flying and wall climbing chocobos, so who knows how useful the buggy will be? The continents on the world map is also vastly different from the original. I like that

I predict that Cloud is gonna bite the dust and be replaced by Zack. That is why I think it could be controversial, Cloud seeing a glimpse of what will happen and throwing himself in the way and taking the fall. Though I doubt Cloud will stay dead forever though, if this actually happens.

Square wants to make this the best game ever and as memorable as the original which I'm so here for. This is way more than I could have asked for I never thought I'd see the day that they actually remade the game and they're doing it so big. I'm so excited I literally cannot wait. It's gonna be so hard if we lose aerith after two whole amazing games with her.

I do not expect this. But it would be cool if the party interaction mechanic was tied to Aerith's fate.

FF7 Remake: The perfect game for people that didn't play FF7 but thought that those characters looked kind of interesting but also love anime.

I think Open Zone is the perfect compromise and it fits FF7 better than an open world game. RPG’s back then were practically "open zone" too, with the world map being a nice illusion to mask that

They mentioned Arieth’s fate in the showing… something about your relationship strength could change her fate. Perhaps it’s possible to either save her or not in this game 🤔

In the PS1 version you technically could get "Knights of the Round" on the 2nd disk. I'm seeing at least the black Chockobo in this trailer.

Aerith is still going to die (in JRPG terms, the word 'fate' tends to mean 'destination' or 'end'), but she's going to give Cloud the White Materia first, so he can do a thing later on in the third game that he wasn't able to do in the original. I think this is going to be how they stop the Geostigma from happening.

12:36 I've played the original on PS1 more times than I can remember. If they put a new path in the game where I can save Aeris (Yes that's what she's named in the European version) I'm all for it. I knowthat in the Japanese version there is a path called "Resurrect Areith".

I almost hope that Part 3 actually functions more as an expansion to Part 2, and perhaps even has Part 2 included as a free Digital download! Perhaps they could just have it continue the same open world format as Part 2, using your previous save, but allowing you to revisit those areas as well as having the new ones from Disc 2 and 3 of the OG game? I just think it would be REALLY odd to have to start fresh yet AGAIN in Part 3, with all the areas in Part 2 we already explored. I was really hoping for Part 1's progress to be carried over to Part 2, but no such luck there. Once all 3 parts are made, it would be fantastic to one day see them make a version of all 3 games that are compiled into one, with no stopping between parts & character progression the entire way through. Would be a pretty massive undertaking, but I could absolutely see it happening one day. That would easily be the definitive way to play it.

I think Aerith is gonna have the same faith as in OG, but Square has been intentionally screwing around with our minds so much that it'll still have a similar impact. Our hopes will be shattered. Also, there's someone who only did the card game at the sneakpeak event, and he uploaded a video explaining it.

There probably wont be a Rebirth DLC with playable Cid or Vincent. I think it was Hamaguchi that said he would prefer to continue on the third part and get it done faster than work on side projects and DLCs for Rebirth. I completely agree with that sentiment, because another full 4 years until part 3 would be rough

I'm calling it now. Zach will be a full time party member at some point in Part 3!

They said they took world design inspiration from Horizon Zero Dawn and the side quest writing from Witcher 3, so let's see if they nailed those aspects as we know the combat is going to be fantastic once again.

Never thought I would play a Final Fantasy but this one is certainly catching my attention O_O
