I see a lot of friends who are currently suffering in their early 40s because they didn't slow down in their thirties. You don't need to be a monk but you need to think about being healthy and preserving your body somewhat.
I think he is referring to doing drugs and partying, something I highly advise against in your 30s. I carried on as I did in my 20s well into my 30s with major health issues. Listen to the man, slow down, focus on your health. Partying is for the young team.
Very wise content. Well done mate. I did alot this instinctively when I hit 31, stepped away from the party weekend bender lifestyle and overtraining to compensate. Started looking after my money and eventually had kids and now at 37 my life is unrecognisable from what it was at 25. Find out what's important and follow that path, which can be extremely lonely but change never comes easy
I'm 10 years your senior, and you've got excellent wisdom; the life audit at 30 is a great shout to the transition to the next phase and something I wish I did at that age.
Great video mate. 29 year old. In a similar spot. Juiced all my 20 looked good tanned up full hair. Late 20/s. Now. Hair loss snapped bicep tendon, and back down to trt levels of test only. Priorities are being lean and fit and mentally well
I feel ya... I am 31 now, as of only recently I now started to feel slightly older in my mentality and things I enjoy doing. Also slightly feel older in my joints and back etc. I'm still in great shape, still capable of a lot, but I am realising how I'm not young and invincible forever after all haha. But I recently became a dad and got mortgage, swings and roundabouts, it's all good baby. Life is a hell of a ride, just got to enjoy it while you can.
" Our belief system is our evaluation of a situtation and frequently when we reevaluate our situation our belief about that situation changes" Kick that around a little bit. Best advice i've received ⭐️
"We question all our beliefs, except for the ones that we really believe in, and those we never think to question" Quote that came to mind after the hearing your 30's advice about beliefs :)
I personally gained alot of clarity and even gained more energy towards life when I remove 95% of the time I spent on screens like video games, social media, TV, dating apps etc
You are that which you seek, Tom. The books and concepts you are being drawn to are simply part of the slow walk ‘home’. Meaning, you were free and perfect all along, just as you are. You are free and perfect, Tom. You just don’t quite believe that… yet, which is ok. So, you’re seeking out all that will mirror back to you how to love and accept yourself, and be free from (self)judgement and fear. Keep going. Remember too, seeking order, predictability and regiment in your ‘external’ life is a reflection of your (old) inner beliefs and the need to control all possible outcomes (normally out of fear). That will likely stem from infancy and early home life, and potentially the psycho-emotional state your maternal side was in during pregnancy, as those hormones (including cortisol and adrenaline) were quite literally connected to your source of nourishment and blood supply in utero. Spontaneity, play, curiosity, ease, patience, general contentment… These things will slowly become part of your life and Being again, as your old neuroses fall away. Hsin-Hsin Ming (Verses on the Perfect Mind) by Seng-ts’an Third Patriarch of Zen (The words in this are only pointing to the truth, so don’t take them too literally. Once you ‘get it’, beyond intellectualising… you’re free. No more books or seeking required. For that, you also have to be ready, and deeply willing, to get very very still. A good translation can be found here: www.holybooks.com/wp-content/uploads/Hsin-Hsin-Ming.pdf). I published a small eBook, which may also be of value. Happy to send you a pdf copy. Keep going. And go easy on yourself, dear friend. 🙏🏼
Hope you are doing well brother 💪🏻 as a 32 year old great advice Did that this year Back to the gym, taking more care of yourself is definitely at the top
Hello Tom, Just wanted to say Echkart Tolle has been a teacher of mine for 5 years, his books and RU-vid videos have accelerated many people’s awakenings. May I also recommend Michael Singers books - Living Untethered and Untethered Soul. Bless
I hear ya on that lone Wolf front when it comes to films/books. Definitely a psychological aspect of one against the world which we mere mortals like to parallel ourselves against. Recommend the film Sisu - absolute masterpiece. 💫
I read normal people on your recommendation. Absolutely amazing..Had to watch the series straight after too! There is a book called "The Rosie Project' which you might enjoy.
I encourage any man in his twenties to do some inner work, learn how to regulate your emotions, stop comparing yourself to others, create a purposeful life, instill boundaries, align with people who share the same values, and most importantly be kind to yourself and others.....
Along the vein of the non fiction you enjoy, I highly recommend Malcolm Gladwell. Been a long time follower and think David and Goliath, Tipping Point and Blink would be right up your street by him!
book recommendation for you tom, Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey! also, is the white tank in the beginning gym footage vq? fits nice. cheers for the vid.
Got a cheeky 24h trip booked to Ibiza to see Eric prydz at HI on the 5th of august! Any tips for places to chill out for the afternoon as we land at about midday mate?
Have you tried on that neutral grip trotter chest press, keeping your chest elevated in the stretch rather than dipping it in ? I’ve only just started doing it from dr Mike isreatel and Jared feather, it feels absolutely nutty mate, proper pushing the chest up to the sky while sinking into the stretch and pausing
I recommended those 2 books to you last year⭐️🤝🤝 Dr Joseph Murphy Power of your Subconscious mind and Psycho Cybernetics Maxwell Molz.....good job my man 👏👏
TM I’m going on a lads holiday next week. It’s 6 nights and at least 5 will be fully sent. Any tips to mitigate damage to the physique. I’ll try train most mornings to try maintain as much as possible
Prioritize protein for any meals and have fun. Buckle back down when you get home. 5 days isn’t going to destroy your physique as long as you can pick up your routine when you get back. Have fun!
They sound like jokes or digs from the girls, if someone thinks you have autism surely they're not gonna say it like that lol. And to me being a yes man in your 20s, means a life crisis in your 30s. Reality is, if your hitting 30 and not in a serious relationship it's gonna be tough mentally.
I have, the study referenced was done on coco I believe, also, don't worry about the isolation of what it may do, it's like saying running is poor for fat loss when in essence we may just be using it for cardiovascular health
