I purposely ran 1000 rounds of cheap bulk ammo thru my Browning 1911 22 without cleaning to see if I could get it to malfunction and guess what? Not one jam. I'm a huge 1911 fan and I absolutely love this thing.
Jeff Hartmann can you hit 10 points/bullseye one handed at 25 yards? If so, I like to get this one too! Looking into the suppressor ready with dovetail sights... which sights do you use?
This is such a fun weapon. I bought a 100 anniversary used from the Cabelas gun library and my 11 year old daughter has been learning how to handle a pistol with it.This is such a fun firearm! If you have the money --Go get one!
I'm behind the times, and must have my priorities off for not being in a gun store for a couple years. I saw a couple of these under the counter and looked one over and I thought two things: 'Wow, I LOVE it' and 'Wow its spendy'. I don't recall the price but it was $640 or thereabouts. I love 1911's and I'm so glad Browning has this scaled down version. I just found out they're doing a .380 version too! Very cool Browning! Cool review CS1911
Mine is there limited special edition with fiber optics and carbon fiber cerakote it's an awesome gun love that it's scaled down 1911 - I'd like to get the one with under barrel rails and threaded barrel for a suppressor
I've been wanting a small concealable semi-auto .22LR for quite some time. I have a Ruger Mk II standard stainless I bought new in 1990, but it's way too big to carry around while fishing and walking through the woods. I had a Beretta 21A years ago and wished I never sold it. Back then they were cheap and plentiful so no one worried about getting another one. These days even though Beretta still lists only the Inox model on their website, it is indeed discontinued and needs to be taken down. I've checked numerous gun shops and they all tell me the same thing "unavailable". Fast forward a few months ago and a guy I work with and I start talking about these types of guns. It turns out he owns one of these Browning 1911-22 A1 compacts and loves his. He uses it for walking around out in the woods mushroom hunting, fishing, camping and just as a general "fun" type gun while plinking. It is fun to shoot a glass liquor bottle or cans you see someone pitched out the window into the woods. He uses his to target shoot at the range too once in awhile. I've had this going in my head for a few years, but never really pulled through because of the price of .22LR and how hard it was to get. This is definitely not the case in late 2017, early 2018 as it's readily available once again nearly everywhere since the hoarders and preppers chilled out. Wal-Mart even has Remington Thunderbolts 500 ct bricks for $21.88 again and as much as you want or need. I'm thinking I am going to get one of these as soon as I have the extra cash and can find one in stock somewhere. People complain about the price, but they forget that this is a all metal pistol with no pot metal or cheap polymer. That costs extra money and I'm willing to pay more to get a quality piece that is going to last a lifetime and not prematurely wear out just because it's "cheap". These seem to run flawless from many many sources including the guy I work with and this guy in this video too. It's not a "lucky chance" by any stretch. My theory is that Browning will sell tons of these because no one else ever made something that was small and .22LR, or no one STILL makes one. I don't know why so many companies discontinued their small semi-auto .22LRs. Even the revolver companies don't make nearly as many as they used to. People want these types of guns to fill a specific niche and purpose. If I have to shoot a pest inside my barn or while out fishing etc...etc..., a .22LR is the better choice. I believe I'm getting one soon!
have you had any luck with a holster for this gun. We are coming up empty handed. Looking for something other than a belt holster. I would like a Paddle holster.
I want one! ☺ That American Eagle does seem to choke up, even in known reliable .22 firearms. Their centerfire ammo is my favorite target ammo, the rimfire stuff doesn't hold up to their good reputation.
C$1911 I'm pretty sure you mentioned it and it doesn't surprise me. I have an older Marlin Model 49 (predecessor to the 60) and I don't recall it liking it either.
Got mine on gunbroker. The Black Label versions seem cool too, but if I understand correctly those have polymer frames, and I like that this one is all metal. For the other look maybe I'll get a 1911-380 when they come out early next year!
Nice video, just wondering if there are any advantages of shooting a "slimmed and trimmed" 1911. I was thinking about getting a GSG full size 1911 but after watching this video I might go for the Browning.
exionem I personally think the smaller size is more appropriate for .22 LR. I think it makes it more like "real gun" and a little less like a toy. It may cost more however.
The M&P .22 has a cheap pot metal slide and is very cheaply made. It feels like an airsoft pistol it's so cheap. The extra money for this is well worth it.
Unsafe range use ! Bullets need to impact berm. hitting the ground in front of the berm just results in ricochet over the berm. Elevate targets so misses hit the berm, not the ground.
