The 8th (Mk8) generation of the Fiesta, it's almost like we can't keep up with Ford when it comes to launching new cars; as we all should know the Fiesta is the UK's best seller and quite honestly it's the truth!
This week I have the opportunity to test the new generation of the ST finished in the 'ST-Line' trim, a trim disguised from the naked eye to be mistaken for the bigger brother, the 'ST'. Ironically, Ford released ST Line before the ST making it hard to understand why Ford didn't make more of an effort to create some more dramatic changes to help us tell them apart.
Thanks to 'Ford UK' for lending us the car for the week, it's now time to enjoy it!

Mini has a heated windscreen as well as another couple of manufacturers. Also the mk7 had a choice of 3 cylinder engines for Zetec S, just not in the ST.

Never knew the Mini's had it, that's good to hear! Shame they don't have them in BMW's in that case, I'm comparing it to the PFL Mk7 Fiesta Zetec S not the Mk7.5 FL Zetec S (but yes I know that did various engine powers on the EcoBoost configuration) Thanks for watching Stephen 👍🏼

Love the look of this car over thr regular fiesta but the firmer ride is what puts me off. I mainly just drive to commute to and from work.

Yes Matt I agree, unfortunately there isn't a mid range Fiesta that shares the styling of the ST Line trim and comfort of a Vignale model Thanks for watching 👍🏼

The ride is firm but very settled and well damped, the seats are very comfortable so it won't be an issue

As I always say ride comfort is a subjective & individual preference, personally for me I'm used to it as I mainly drive cars with a sporty/firm feel

@@PocketRockets one near me . 2018 , 18 grand plus vat . thats expensive for a used van . would rather fit a false floor and cover the side windows ,

Yeah that's the best way, get a normal road car version and convert it yourself 👍 You'll probably be able to get the part numbers for the plastic floor from Ford directly, just provide them with a registration for a Fiesta van Plus you'll save money on insurance as the Fiesta van is classed as a commerical vehicle Thanks for subbing to the channel mate!

I would say so, be a lot more nippy and have better handling plus Ford interior is pretty premium compared to the previous generation Fiesta Saying is it worth it though, I'd say if you can afford to do, you wouldnt regret it 👍🏼 Use websites like CarWow to get discounts off brand new cars like the Fiesta usually save £3-4k

@@PocketRockets years of long December days delivering parcels from a rental transit have engrained that bong into my nightmares 😂 the issues you've raised are strange given its still an ST Line. Is it a case of all the focus going onto the full ST? Enjoyed the simple, honest chat about the car though 👍

Engines generaly don't break because of cheaper fuel.

3 cylinders need higher octane fuel to run right and avoid engine issues, this is really a general rule for all engines, to be honest, thanks for watching Boijorzee 👍🏼

- Catastrophique-ATE Continental Freins à disque avants qui équipent la Fiesta nouvelle neuve actuelle:voyez ,où plutôt écouter ce qui se passe lorsqu'on freine,en terminaison de freinage,c'est grinçant,à croire qu'il n'y a pas de garniture et que cela frotte plaquette sans garniture contre disque sonore,et ceci c'est à tout moment de l'année,et c'est audible à l'intérieur de la Fiesta,vitres fermées,jusqu'aux places arrières;on ressent même le crissement du frottement plaquettes/disques dans la pédale de frein Pour le chef d'atelier,c'est normal...voyons donc! mais après 36 000 km et 1an et demi à rouler,les crissements de tôle en terminaison de freinage sont toujours làl Pas la moindre amélioration! Mais ceci n'est pas sans conséquence pour Ford,car à cause de ces ATE Continental,autour de moi,plus personne ne veut acheter une Ford neuve.
