This is one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "Walkin' After Midnight", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love" etc. She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams". "Home Free" does a great cover of "Crazy".

Actually she was flying from Kansas City to raise money for a disc jockey who was killed in a car accident and was good friends with her, because he went to see her in the hospital when she had her car accident that almost killed her. She was hit head on and she went head first into the front window. So ironic. So sad.@@miamidolphinsfan

Her best song BY FAR was put out after her death in 1962...SWEET DREAMS was ICONIC....so powerful...she recorded it right before her death and performed it in NY and then had the plane crash which took her life before it was put out to the public. WONDERFUL...you should really hear it...Crazy is beautiful and haunting but Sweet Dreams will blow your mind with how powerful it is.

Also, she never got to sing the song. But, Ironically and Loretta Lynn mentions this in her book "kickin up dirt" that they were riding around when "Leavin on your mind" came on the radio and was climbing the charts. Loretta jokingly said to Patsy "well girl it looks like you got leavin on your mind, where you going"@@JoeTyria

Patsy Clines is the standard all other female Country Singer are measured against. She's been gone for 61yrs now & people still buy her songs! She is the only singer who can cry & sing at the same time & still be perfect. Listen to "Sweet Dreams," & my favorite "Faded Love." By the end of "Faded Love" you to will be crying with Patsy. She will break your heart. Patsy felt every song she sang. There are 5 women in Country Music that broke the door down for the other female singers. They are, 1 Kitty Wells 2 Patsy Cline 3 Loretta Lynn 4 Dolly Parton 5 Tammy Wynette. You need to ck out all 5 of them. Patsy & Loretta Lynn were best friends. Loretta was devastated when Patsy died.

For more of Patsy’s story, the biographical movies “Sweet Dreams” (staring Jessica Lange) and “Coal Miners Daughter” (about Loretta Lynn (Sissy Spacek) and Patsy Cline (Beverly D’Angelo)) are two excellent introductions to their lives and careers. Both actresses did great jobs with the vocals. They might make fun reactions! (hint…hint!)

Mack's friend Roy Drusky suggested he pitch "Blue" to Patsy Cline in an effort to make the song a hit, so Mack gave a tape to Cline's husband Charlie Dick, but Cline died in a plane crash in 1963 before she could record it. The song "Blue" became a multi-platinum hit for LeAnn Rimes, in 1996 at the very young age 13. You should check it out and react to it. Both voices are so beautiful.

The work ethics of singers and musicians from the earlier decades definitely shows. This wasn’t just a quick money scheme or an attempt to gather a following so as to be an influencer. These people worked on their craft night and day, more than most people work at their jobs these days. If we could develop the same dedication our fore-bearers labored the music industry could soar to new heights. Society’s love for money destroys everything it touches.

This was the studio recording. Either she was lip-synching to it on TV, or someone dubbed it after the fact. Regardless, it's beautiful. Obviously, you've never heard "I Fall to Pieces." Yeah, you should do that. It's beautiful, too. No one has ever quite matched Patsy's version in a cover. But Linda Ronstadt's version (a reinterpretation) and Leann Rimes' version (very similar to Patsy's except for the exaggerated yodeling) are both quite good. So, there's three reactions (or one long comparative one) you could do.

Even for the pleasure of a very young boy's heart, to have been lucky enough to hear and experience this soothing yet penetrating voice, cannot be described in mere words. In a way, it could be an important reason why the baby boomer generation were and are the last generations to experience a belief in holding to Godly Priciples as the basis of long term relationships. I think Patsy had the ability to preserve that sentiment before a more Worldly view was allowed to creep into the American society.
@douglasheath411
@douglasheath411 3 месяца назад
So few vocal artists would come along after her to dedicate those virtues to the listener. You almost had to switch to the Gospell or Christian genre to continue to experience those virtues because other genres were beginning to pervey a much more Worldly view of living. A view that happiness was not based on a relationship with our creator. I recently experienced another female voice that was able reach one's soul in every genre she chose to use, and refused to be tied to one genre to give you that soul moving feeling. Her name was Eva Cassidy. She was virtually unheard of until 20 some years after her tragic death from cancer at the young age of 33. Her ability to cover songs from other artists and reinterpret the songs and make them her own was incredible. Songs like: SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW AUTUMN LEAVES SONGBIRD FIELDS OF GOLD STORMY MONDAY BIRTH OF THE BLUES BLUES IN THE NIGHT WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD and many more. They are all highly recommended for being reacted to. My favorite Male singer who is blessed with that ability is David Phelps, who is a Contemporary Christian Artist, but does venture into Classical, Secular and even Operatic genres. Please react to some of his music. You won't be disappointed

And she couldn't get his phrasing of the song out of her head, So she told Owen her producer, listen I am going to go into the studio and sing it the best I can,(she was still recovering with broken ribs. The next day she came in and sang the song with no music. and did it only one time. Owen said to her Patsy you did it in one take. Then they arranged the music and etc and added to her voice. This which had never been done before.
