I like the sales proposal scenario you painted, but in the closing it's important to overcome the price objection when it's brought up versus putting off for another meeting. Remember, emotion sells and you've been building on that emotion throughout the presentation. If you don't get it closed then and there, you'll have to get the client back to that same level of emotional need before talking about the new price in hopes it would be accepted. In the exploratory meeting, the budget had to be discussed before moving ahead, right? Then in the proposal stage, if you have a figure that is maybe 10-20 percent higher than the budget, you only have to sell them on the difference, not the whole amount. That's where knowing the "reducing to the ridiculous" close would work when you can take that difference, divide it by 30 days in that first month or any month thereafter, to show that it's likely the cost of a Starbucks coffee and danish that enables the prospect to enjoy all those benefits. When talking initially about how much the service(s) will be, I will sometimes say, "It's likely to be between zero and ten thousand dollars. To determine where your actual investment will be depends on seeing what your specific needs will be first and analyzing all the steps involved to get you where you want to be. Is that fair enough?"

On the free audit you provide for potential clients, are you talking with the business prior to doing the audit? If no, is that when you just send the audit to them any way you can via email, messenger, mail...? Example of your proposal would be fantastic. Maybe one day I;ll pay for your course.

Hi Jordan great video thanks :) You're always talking about not trying to sell on the first meeting and that makes a lot of sense. The problem is meeting leads for free it's time consuming and not efficient. What do you think about sending that audit, and trying to close first meeting as a consulting session (symbolic fee)? I can tell the lead that in case he's hiring me, the fee will be taken off of the bigger payment. Isn't that technically worse than being salesy on first meeting, as I'm selling even before that?

Make them like you- humor don’t go in trying to sell Ask what happened when they tried marketing before if they have, what worked what didn’t Ask about monthly and yearly revenue Know their goals- ask Cost- give them a range- ask for their budget
