First ride in 2024: checking the MIC sound

This is my first ride with my Yamaha Tracer 9 in 2024. Despite the rain I decided to go for a ride. In fact I wanted to test my new motovlogging setup. After I bought the HJC RPHA 70 helmet and have installed the Saramonic LavMicro U3-OA Lavalier Microphone that I previously used in my old hamlet I hat to test it. I also found a solution for the MIC cable that was bouncing around and I wasn't able to attach it anywhere around the chin mount. Check the video for more.

I found that the MIC was a bit too covered and muted. I resolved it. :) Yeah, It is pretty clear that these days we all live in the UK. :) Thanks for tuning in bro.

That is true Larry. Now it is better. Somehow when I was installing it I put too much American tape around the muffler. :) Now it is better. Thanks for watching and listening. :) Take care and say hi to Trisha.

Thank you Gregor for sharing your first ride video of 2024, I personally don't like riding in the rain, however, if i'm out riding and get caught in the rain, that's life, but i don't ride in the rain in purpose 😂, i went on a bike meet on Monday and just wanted to get out and ride so i haven't filmed anything , we had a fabulous weather, but on the way home, oh my god, the heaven has open and i was in the middle of it, when i got home, i was surprised how dry i was, the only bit of water got in my right boot somehow and i was saying to my friends through the intercoms, how good i felt riding in the rain and the experience 😂😂😂. P.S. you need to work on that audio, i think DJI have in the menu to isolate the noise , or try to do something in the edit. i'm not expert as i still experiencing with my audio but try to get it clearer as is to high . hope you don't mind me saying this. Ride safe my friend !

I see. Thanks for sharing your experience. I also don't like to go for a ride in the rain, but that day I prepared everything and it was just cloudy. I reality I new that it might rain, but I was already decided. :) Sometimes we do not get totally wet somehow. :) I already fixed the audio to the level that I had in my previous helmet. It could be that it is even a tiny bit better. The problem was with the muffler, which was covered way too much. Now it is better, you will see it. Thanks a lot bro. Do you have your exact days of passing Slovenia? Cheers.

@@RRRRefuelRideRace i need to be in Montenegro for 1st of August there or thereabouts , also want to spend a day or 2 in Croatia as well because i've never been there, so i'm thinking i will pass Slovenia on 28 / 29 of July... but nothing is set in stone at the moment, i still work on my map to see what i can do and where to stay hotels or b&b's . Will definitely let you know once i have my hotels booked as at that time i will know the exact date.

The road looked a little muddy in some places, which is not good on two wheel. The mic sounds pretty good. Ride safe bro.

I adjusted it and it is quite a lot better now. You know that we all struggle with the sound. It can be a real pain in the ass. :) Thanks bro.

Yes, sound is OK but depends on the speed. It's always a challenge to cut down the wind noise.

I own a DJI Action, and in my experience, the sound is nearly impossible to get "clean." it peaks in a way others I have tried do not. - Frank

I agree. Somehow I managed to improve it. I had the MIC covered too much. After the sound was better. You will see it in my next video. It is always a struggle with the sound, you know. :)

Hi Gregor. I can hear you well enough but I don’t think the audio is 100% we've just changed our microphones again as we weren't happy with our Rode Microphones So difficult to get clean audio while riding.

Thanks for the comment Richard. I found the problem. The MIC was covered way too much with the American tape (installed it in my pervious video). Now it is a lot better when I opened it. I completely agree about the audio, it is always a struggle. What kind of MIC do you use now?

@RRRRefuelRideRace We've reverted back to cheap Hamo laptop microphones. They just work better than the expensive Rode Lavalier microphones we've used in the last couple of vids. I'm just editing the first video using them again and I'm much happier with the sound

I put too much American tape on the MIC. :) Now it is a lot better. The helmet fits nice and I am very happy with it. Thanks for stopping by Tommy. Waiting for some your stuff with Jody. :) Cheers.

Kakovost zvoka je slaba...tud sam iscem najboljsi set up za motor, trenutno imam gopro 9 in razmisljam o nabavi media mod ki pa ima polno minusov al pa raje zamenjam za dji 4 + zunanji mikrofon.

Se strinjam z oceno zvoka, sem pa zadevo že izboljšal. Mikrofon je bilo nekoliko preveč zadušen. Zdaj je bolje. Strinjam se z DJI 4 in zunanjim mikrofonom, a mislim, da je zvok zdaj precej boljši v primerjavi s prej. Veliko je odvisno tudi od čelade. :) Pri Cabergu nisem imel večjih težav. Hvala za ogled in komentar. :)

@@RRRRefuelRideRace zvuk mi je malo kao da ima distorziju, da odlazi u peak iliti pik (crveno) , treba se još poigrati malo, drugo kaj bi ja napravio, zakosio kameru prema gore da se više vidi cestA i okolica, ovisno o preferencijAma kako ti voliš snimati, i to ke to ukratko

@@2W_Adventure Slažem se Željko. Zvuk u ovom videu je loš i 30 % sam ga več sredio. Kod kamere je jeba... jer ponekad pogodiš visinu, pokekad ti je malo prenisko, znaš ono.... :) Vidjet češ u idučem videu kako je bilo, i jedno i drugo. :) Hvala na podrški drug.
