Howdy! My name is Camille and I have a passion for gentling wild mustangs. Wild horses and burros are overpopulated in the western United States, so to keep population numbers from rising, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) periodically gathers wild mustang and offers them for adoption to eligible homes. I train mustangs to make them suitable for domestic lives and to show the world how amazing these underdogs can be. Subscribe to follow along with my mustang journey!

That was SO sweet Camille. Your sister will become a great helper then a trainer under your wing and god knows we never could have enough horse women! Thank you for sharing and letting me continue to live through you and your knowledge. I asked a few days ago if you ever heard of Professor Beery? He's an old school horse trainer whom trains through being a herd leader, I think is his thoughts! I learned through his books from back in the late 70's to 80's. I'll be 62 come January 2021. ! Still train and couldn't live without my horses. My very first one was a Mustang. Got her as a weanling due to, I was told had to put mare down, but we know what happened! Within an hour, I had her leading out the trailer and within a couple days I had my 2 year old on her back leading around. That was along time ago now. My girl just turned 41 December. If you get the chance, look him up(Prof. Beery) and tell me your thoughts on his training techniques. I'd dearly appreciate your opinion of what you think of his teachings. I teach almost exactly the way your teaching from him. That's why I would love your opinion on him. Again, thanks for sharing and have an awesome, safe and Happy New Year. God Bless.

I am a novice rider. I took lessons as a child and have always been passionate and wanted to own a horse. I have done trail rides and occasionally ride when I get the chance, not too often being in the city. I love your videos! Where should I start? Lessons? Leasing a horse? Thank you for your videos! You're an inspiration. Cheers!

I know this is completely absurd, but I wonder if you might sell & ship some of these beautiful pieces? I understand it’s kind of ridiculous to ship across the U.S. just really like that it about the most ethically sourced piece of wood, one can acquire. It always amazes me how you make you wield that chainsaw around & make it look so easy, I know they are incredibly dangerous and the only thing “easy“ about them is how easy it is to have an accident with one. Thanks for another great video!

Also, it seems like Ellen is leaning in a lot. If Ellen puts her weight slightly in outside stirrup he can handle her weight better through the turn. Maybe he stay in lope better like that?

Question:The first time I was breaking a horse the trainer was lunging him. Why did you not keep him on a long line for this? Is he more comfortable this way with more freedom to figure it out on his own?

Hi, Camille! I've recently adopted a four year old mustang mare, Sundance, about a year ago. I've been preparing her for her first ride by putting on the saddle and maneuvering her from the ground. She does just fine with all of this but tends to get really sensitive to having me above her and wants to take off when asked to do things from the saddle, like move forward. Do you have any tips or advice to help me get her more comfortable?
@michellehoyt8218
@michellehoyt8218 3 года назад
Figure out what exactly is making her uncomfortable and work there, is it pressure on her side with legs and feet.....then do more ground work pushing pressure on sides till comfortable and movingly freely but not quickly to escape.......this is a good video of every part to start and get on......check every part where your horse gets upset singularly.....foot in saddle, can you turn head around, put weight in foot, can you rise without horse getting scared......I lay across after that and use my hands to walk off first as cues, but her side seat is fine......litterally go through every little step and find out before you walk where an issue is and if they are calm.....I dont lope off first ride but yes....can I turn the head, move the hip.....start a back up and whoa...walk off left and right.....go from there.......Sounds like you need to desensitize piece in between
@michellehoyt8218
@michellehoyt8218 3 года назад
She may be afraid of seeing something up and over her head, work on things like tossing lines and whips over her head side to side till she relaxes......work on areas that get you higher like mounting blocks to figure out if height issue from behind....and just desensitize it.....I've had two that takes everything and objects from ground and over, but triggered with human going up showing no previous signs of such before......try a bit of ponying her from another horse if such and moving around and touching her from the other horse.......she is just showing you a hole somewhere overlooked

Very nice but I don’t think a beginner rider should have been the first to ride him. Little hard to watch because she is too buggy and you want him to have as positive of an experience as possible
