Fantastic band, massively underrated. They mostly use the Arabian, Persian, phyrigian scales. Vocals are on another level. I am addicted to their music.
That intro made me laugh so hard! Thank you! ... and thank you for picking my suggestion. I’m really glad you like it. I stumbled upon Melechesh a few years ago looking for some fresh metal (and being disappointed by several releases of other bands at that time). I especially like the Middle Eastern touch to their music which makes it quite unique. Your analysis is very decent and I get the same feelings from their music: Besides all those brutal / evil parts there are still beautiful moments to discover! Go on and check out their catalogue... I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed. 🤘 I also have another suggestion since you seem to dig Floor Jansen as well: Try ‘Pandemic’ by the Devin Townsend Project from their album ‘Deconstruction’. She does some nice guest vocals there. 😉
Thank you for the suggestion! That intro... maybe I'm just now starting to get comfortable with this whole recording myself and putting it on the internet...thing.
great band! I love the middle eastern sound they bring. Saw them live once at Ragnarök festival here in Germany where unfortunately they were plagued with bad sound (the stage was in a hall so not the easiest environment sound-wise, especially for faster, more extreme styles). It was fun nonetheless.
Great reaction! I love this band and this whole album is great! And you are correct sir, their music is evil but also so beautiful. They are categorized by some as being Assyrian black metal and are from Jerusalem, Israel. Their main focus lyrically is Mesopotamian mythology. I would categorize them as just black metal with different influences than the common norse mythology black metal I grew up with (me being from Iceland). I love to hear the clear Middle Eastern music influences in their music. Saw them live once at a small venue and it was amazing! 🤘
