First Time Hearing James Blunt - Monsters (Reaction!) 

I was my dad's caregiver for about 4 years until his death as well. I am now a father myself, and the part in this song that gets me the most is when he says, "Don't be afraid it's my turn to chase the monsters away" I know he was referring to chasing his dad's monsters away but I'm thinking of my daughter's monsters. The first time I heard that lyric I cried for about an hour. I have heard this song so many times via reaction videos and I still tear up. I wish my daughter had been able to meet him.

Man can you ever tell that that diagnosis really effected James deeply. What a great thing to come out of something so terrifying. And glade his father is doing much better.

You're wonderful to take care of your dad. I understand how it is. My daughter-in-law passed after 4 yrs brain cancer.. 7 surgeries & 2 strokes and she wanted to stay home with us. That was an honour. My mom wanted to pass at her home too during that time. Caregiving is often difficult but our hearts feel lighter in some strange way. I'm so sorry for your mom dying when you were young. I too lost everyone I loved by the time I was in college, one at the time. I was 6 when I saw someone die in front of my eyes... My grandpa had just brought me some chocolate for my very first day of school, sat down at the table, and had a heart attack. Since that day, which I still remember in detail, many lied dead in our home, and I attended many funerals. I went to the cemetery every day until I left my mountain village to go to university. I remember every detail, every last word, the smell of the wax candles melting, the purple of the velvet curtains in the mortuary chamber they used to set up in the dead's home, as custom in my country, the silence only broken by my sniffling and sobbing while I talked to my loved ones' dead bodies, lying waxy, cold and rigid in the open casket. I understand how you never forgot your mother's words and lived your life making her proud. My mother has been dead now for 34 years and my choices are to this day still affected by her death -- In a positive way, I think, despite everything. This song made me cry, and I rarely cry. It's so heart-wrenching to say goodbye to someone you love, even though death is just a part of life, and it's right, it's necessary, it's what makes life so precious and beautiful...

​@shon1303 could you imagine singing a song to your father saying goodbye while he was alive, but knowing he was dying. (He needed an organ transplant to save him). I couldn't handle it.

So, my theory is that it has very little to do with James Blunt right now and has everything to do with Iam Tongis American idol audition.
