in terms of strength they are pretty equal. and Monsterverse Godzilla drilled through the whole earth with his atomic breath, so he took that. speed however is the key factor, Shin at the form at the end of the movie, is slow af, while MV Godzilla can jump, and run at Kong level Speeds. So MV Godzilla wins.
@@ermio- Intelligence goes to MV godzilla don't forget he almost took down Monster zero if the military wasn't involved and dropped the oxygen destroyer into the ocean Monster zero would have died so yeah nice info
@@ermio- another thing if shin didn't have the constant way to evolve and copy MV godzilla to counter him plus perhaps fly since MV godzilla can jump but shin would find many ways to counter and win due to the ability to evolve effortlessly even with regenerations.
Fun fact: Shins evolution has no end as he can evolve to literally anything it’s believed that he will evolve and grow so much that he will become a universe himself
@@DonTownsend and at the ending you saw since Shin evolves to counter whatever he faces since he faced humans the only way he could counter them is to become them
@@DonTownsendthis mf claps Godzilla no diff. No matter how many times godzilla kills this guy, he comes back stronger Goji centre made a video on him, so you can check that out.
@@DonTownsend Yeah the evolution we saw at the end where he was "frozen", was basically human sized Godzilla's that would have roamed free. There is lots of details on his potential further evolutions but yes, eventually, he would have become the universe or rather "a" universe, himself.
Fun fact: the Godzilla in this series is tragic, it wants to die, the song that plays when he does his atomic breath/ the lasers lyrics are talking about Godzilla. Also when he spits out all of his atomic breath and goes to sleep you can see how calm he is cuz he released all his radiation
Another fun fact: the radiation basically took over his body. So even though he is fully sentient, he can't control his actions, everything he does is controlled by instinct. He can't stop himself from feeding off of radiation. His roars are screams of pain from his body constantly changing and rearranging different parts to evolve.
5:11 Godzilla was originaly a mostly purely Japanese franchise. Toho has separate rights to it and this is a completely different story from the Monster verse franchise
@@pierceromeyn8433 yes, although Toho is doing pretty good with this and Minus One. Legendary is also going in the direction of a blockbuster, so stuff like Shin is nice to see
shin godzilla is in pain all day every day when he roars he screams out in pain the mind wants to die but the body fights to live he doesnt want to exist at all its a tragic story from every point of view if you listen to the song who will know its about his suffering and in the film plays during the atomic breath scene showing his true emotions during that event
The explaination for the blood: When Godzilla evolves, he sheds excess tissues no longer needed in his new form. This results in the blood that poured down into the freeway, and later that spills out of his gills.
Regarding your questions to Godzilla's tail: The tail is its own organism, which is why the very end of the tail is actually a head that looks like a botched circumcision. It can be more cleanly seen on action figure representations of Shin Godzilla, like the S.H. Monsterarts figures. It's why the tail had teeth at the very end, and why it was able to shoot an Atomic Breath by itself. This version of Godzilla is an organism that is in constant pain and agony. His body is all ripped open with bloody wounds. When he roars, he screams due to the never ending pain. He wants to die, but his body won't let him. The body thus adapts to the surrounding environment in a very painful way. Whenever Godzilla comes across an obstacle that he couldn't overcome in his current form, his body adapted accordingly and evolved to overcome that obstacle. The very last shot of the movie suggests that, since humans were the lastest obstacle working together to stop Godzilla, the tail would've split up into Godzilla-Human hybrid beings that would endlessly duplicate and overrun the humans to defeat them. Had Godzilla not been frozen solid and killed, this ever evolving creature could've eventually become its own universal entity.
You're partly right, the tail isnt its own entity but everything else is right. You might be thinking about the scrapped idea in the artbook where shin would've been able to split apart to form 2 different Zilla's
@@sebastianvakarian9773 Mean pain despite being unpleasant has an important role at informing us when something is potentially dangerous (like the most basic example getting burned hurts because the body wants us to know that the heat we are being exposed to is harmful to our health). As Godzilla is a constantly changing and evolving creature the parameters of what can "hurt" it probably changes as well. While Godzilla 's consciousness finds it agonizing the body (which evolves in ways outside of the consciousness's control) would have no reason to get rid of pain as it helps with survival by gauging what it can handle in the new form and helps decide what it needs to improve on in the next one.
@@Veneto_Mappingseriously bro r u high?, The set up is Because he's saying his opinion about the movie, and to cover his content againts copyright strike , and so we see their reaction about qhat they're watching
This film is incredible, but it becomes so much more powerful when you realize its a direct criticism of the government's response to the Fukushima disaster. The imagery alone is so haunting. Hideaki Anno is such a brilliant filmmaker.
Right on the money, when Don kept mentioning: "I think this would've worked if you acted earlier" that was directly implied from the movie. The slow moving gears of bureaucracy exacerbated the tragedy.
This was Japan's first CGI godzilla movie after Monsterverse was born in 2014, cause before this, the studio behind Godzilla was doing set movies where people were in suits and stuff
The way godzilla works is that currenty, the movies made by toho (Shin and Minus One) are part of the Reiwa Era of Godzilla movies (though they are not connected). The monsterverse is its own thing made by Legendary.
@@NotImportantPersonNumber2 IMO 1999 was an ok monster movie, albeit a bad godzilla one. 2014 and KotM are really good. The ones with Kong are enjoyable but not as good.
Not so fun fact: There are many theories as to what Gojira is, but one thing is for certain, it’s that Gojira is in constant pain. Listen to the song “who will know”, it plays during the atomic breath scene and it gives us a glimpse into Gojira’s mind, it’s truly tragic.
Godzilla has a LOT of different continuities with a lot of just solo films like Shin godzilla. Godzilla minus one is coming out sometime soon and is the first godzilla move to win an Oscar, it's also a trip to the original vision of godzilla so if you want more lore on the character definitely check it out. It's also just a great movie in general lol
This Godzilla is kinda odd and if you pay attention it's not intentionally attacking until its forced to. It almost looks like it's looking for something. Plus its in constant pain, practically a walking tumor. So while suffering confused and in pain you're being attacked so it starts defending itself. Most of the damage before it attacked was just due to moving at that size.
the anger you had about the government waiting so long to take action is the point. This movie is a metaphor about the earthquake, tsunami and power plant disaster that took place in japan and is a common sentiment held by the people effected by the disaster
O tal vez sea la canción para los ciudadanos de Tokyo, no? Después de todo, cuando Goro Maki ve a Godzilla con el ocico con sangre (mató a un niño antes) sonrió Godzilla XD (Godzilla no tiene hambre)
the very end where you can see little people coming off of Godzilla, that was actually his new evolution where he would send little versions of himself the size of humans to take them out. he was going to eventually evolve into what took him out.
A little trivia worth knowing about Shin Godzilla: The director of Shin (who is also the creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion) later made concept art about what Shin Godzilla could have been if Toho gave him full control and creativity. Godzilla's "final" form is depicted as a humanoid angel-like being, supposedly beyond human compehension. Basically trying to say that Godzilla has become God himself, which goes to show how this version of him truly has boundless adaptability. Imo this is easily the most terrifying and menacing Godzilla ever made. The fact that the movie's name literally translates to "The true/absolute Godzilla" solidifies my opinion for it.
there was a deleted scene after the fourth evolution for the "blood splatters" from the USAF bombing. and it was evolving sensory organs from scratch. it was gory af, so they scrapped that from the film.
Japan: Hey US, We have this creature called Gojira. It’s eat Nuclear Radiation. We don’t know how to kill it. US: Did you try with Nukes? Japan: WTF, Dude. We’re saying it eats Nuclear Radiation US: You expecting me to have IQ more than 1? We will using Nukes to kill it. Japan: …
I mean, if Bunker Busters were able to clearly cause him pain, a nuke would have a fairly high chance of vaporizing him. Problem is that he'd probably grow back if a single spec of him remained.
Fun fact: shin godzilla was planned to have 8-10 forms, but to keep the movie short they had japan freeze godzilla ultimately ending him at the very very beginning of his 5th form
29:40 - The fact they saw it mutate was why they didn't shoot, I'd say. They probably assumed wouldn't work anymore, if it ever would have to begin with, and given how Godzilla wasn't being actively aggressive at that moment, there was reason to worry hey might provoke it and cause it rampage harder which would have been more damaging, in other words shooting it at that time was a gamble that didn't look promising enough to take, from what i could tell. All that aside Shin Godzilla is a unique take on Godzilla, its implied he mutated from a fish rather than a reptile. And whats sad and scary is that its not even intentionally destructive, even when it destroyed the city with lasers it wasn't intentional but simple a bodily reaction, equivalent to having diarrhea. Shin's body is constantly mutating which causes it to suffer just by living, it's pretty much just following its instincts in any effort to minimize its suffering, all while practically oblivious to the harm it causes, not unlike people unknowingly stepping on ants. The music that plays during its Atomic Breath "who will know" basically represents Shin's own perspective on things.
I honestly like the Godzilla in this movie better Because he represents exactly what Godzilla should be: he's no hero or villain, he's no king, he's a mindless beast, just a living and walking nuke
Quick recap of the Gojira/Godzilla timeline. The original Godzilla was made in 1954 by Toho, and later had many sequels up to 1975. This timeline is called the Showa era. Then from 1984 to 1995, the Heisei era took place, which was also made by Toho. In 1998, the first American Godzilla film was made, and it was horrible, this inspired Toho to make the Millennium era, which takes place from 1999 to 2004. We are now in the Reiwa era, this title means nothing as there are now multiple continuities, like the monsterverse (legendary Godzilla and Kong) shin (standalone film made by Toho) and minus one (another stand alone film by Toho, might have sequels) that’s about it for now.
The Reiwa Era is fine and means something. The Millennium Era only had 2 of the 6 movies connected in continuity, while the other 4 were standalone movies.
To answer your timeline question this is the first time that they ever did a movie where nobody in the world knew what a Godzilla was it's a complete like a what if all the other Godzillas toho put out, except for -1 have at least had the 1954 movie as Cannon they are new worlds where nobody has any idea what Godzilla is, the monster verse is its own entity as is Godzilla 1998, every American Godzilla is not considered part of Godzilla's Canon there was a little bit of 1998 in Godzilla final wars that's the one case where there was a crossover of sorts
Monsters are tragic being, they are born to tall, to strong, to heavy. They not evil by they choice, this is they're tragedy. They don't attack human because they're evil, but because they're own strength, and human has no choice but to defend themselves. -Echiro Honda Not like other Godzilla theme that showing its power proud this one show the pain, you can hear it from the lyrics it self, " if I die in this world, who will know something of me,I am lost
Bueno, este Godzilla mató a un niño por placer. No es porque tenga hambre o se haya defendiendo. Solo lo mató y sonrió cuando vio a su creador, Goro Maki. Tampoco te pases lol
@@Eddhielo Shin Godzilla never deliberately attacks people. Mostly it's a case of being in the path of its movements. When the bombers attack, Shin actually retaliates.

I love the eerie tragic end of the world feel in the song that plays in the background the first time godzilla appears on land. The lyrics go as: Persecution of the masses Sacred Blessings count for nothing Oh God give us your protection Let no blame lie at the innocents who have prayed If your high praise is all we have let us not be without you. This song gives me the feeling that there is no hope and that the only thing you have left is the welcoming arms of God himself, so they're begging that God won't abandon them in death.
Now the thing about the tail those weren't teeth those were his fifth evolution where he had realized sometimes being small will be helpful and sort of made many mini Godzillas as a way to fight humanity
Shin: What I want is for you to feel my pain my torment My Suffering. I want you to bleed as much as I do To scream as much as I do To have your body disobey your orders like I have I want to die But it won't let me You make me hurt more Suffer more Once my lights burn out It all goes away just for a moment Feel my pain The wrath of god
I am someone who only just started watching Godzilla movies, it's truly amazing that something like Shin Godzilla or Godzilla Minus One can exist and use Godzilla and then a completely different version in the current Legendary movies can also exist and they're all great to watch.
5 stage he grows wings and becomes like a huge dragon thing and thoughs little humanoid creatures on his tail come of him and sshoot beams from thier forehead
i thought i watched alot of godzilla but just early today I find out about shin godzilla and spent hours watching everything about him. coincidence that you upload this the same day
Fun Fact: Shin Godzilla's blood gets boiling hot and when it roars it means it's in pain and wants to cool down. Shin Godzilla ran back to the water to cool down as it is in pain.
Fun fact: shin godzilla is always in pain, when he was going through the city, the blood from his gills were going out because he couldnt breathe and that was the only way to get rid of the oxygenless blood, when it evolved, it's bones stabbed itself, it's skin and muscles were growing at an unstable rate, almost tearing itself, and it couldnt cool itself down after the breath blast
The sad fact abt shin is that the roar is a scream,if u go to the ost "who will know" the lyrics are resembling shin's pain as hes body dont want him to die and keep moving
The director of Shin Godzilla, Hideaki Anno, is the creator of that anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Recently, he's been making a lot of these "SHIN" (new, god, true, etc.) mini-reboot movies of different classic Japanese action franchises. There's one called Shin Masked Rider that's still free on Prime, if you're interested. It's a lot more action heavy and the more CGI focused fights have the characters moving like they're from DBZ.
56:57 if you don't know. that is Shin Godzilla's baby at the end of the tail, it's the reason why Shin can shoot out from it's tail too cuz it's actually it's baby. Shin Godzilla doesn't go pregnant in the stomach so it goes pregnant in the tail. Once the baby actually evolves it becomes another Shin Godzilla and the Shin Godzilla that is freezed will probably break like ice. Japan isn't free from danger.
The reason why America hurt shin godzilla and Japan couldn't is because Japan has less advanced military tech, the bomb used to attack shin godzilla is a mop II bunker buster which can penetrate through 200ft of reinforced concrete. Japan didn't have any bombs that penetrate stuff because they never needed one.
Shin godzilla is indeed based off a frilled shark which became polluted because he ate nuclear waste that was dumped in 1950’s and can endlessly evolve into a hyperversal creature too if he doesn’t get stopped, can you imagine a poor hungry fish wanting to eat something and he eats something bad and becomes this? And gets attacked by the whole world while he is already in pain
Since y‘all wrote so many facts in the comments. Lemme tell you sumthin‘ (Shane Walsh *rubs bald head*) Everytime in where Godzilla screams in THIS movie, it is not to make the humans scared or that he screams so he is KING. Nahhh he actually screams because of the pain he is suffering from. Crazy right? Sad but also creepy…
The director of this movie is also known for neon Genesis evangelion an incredible anime series it is that that is one of the biggest reasons I think that is on Crunchyroll
27:22 - Ehhh You absolutely can Ignore this Scene. It didn't even appear in the Cinematic cut. They edited later in when the Movie got its Home Video release Which makes even less sense
Shin Godzilla and Godzilla from “Godzilla Singular Point” are in my opinion the undisputed champions of the strongest Godzillas, because they can both just evolve into deities given time.
Fun fact: at ~18:00 into the video, there was supposed to be a scene where it vomits blood but it was removed. The scene was supposed to show that it was likely trying to use its atomic breath, but due to it still being young and underdeveloped, it just tore its throat up.
These are the many forms 1st: ??? 2th: kamata kun 3th:shinagawa kun 4th: kamakura san 5th: some things growing out of its tails 6th: would evolve bigger 7th:hes big in the space 8th hes just some eyes in the space 9th: why is it bigger than the galaxy 10th: consuming all of our galaxy And it goes forever
I think all of his actions were out of shear pain from being forced to evolve. That first atomic breath scene was him probably yelling to get all of that built up radiation out of him, since he wasn’t really aiming at anything he was just blasting
People are mad he kept interrupting, y’all do realize he isn’t a RU-vidr that reposts movies?? He legit said in the beginning that it was gonna be edited and cut. I do not understand how you can be pissed by this, this isn’t the place to watch a full uncut unedited movie. Edit: I’m talking about a top comment I saw and everyone in the replies were agreeing
In the game, Godzilla has beam attack from his fin vents to stop planes, it's nothing new, but took me a lot of time to utilize the attack and this does caught me in surprise.
Shin Godzilla is pretty insane. Those things on its tail at the end were its response to out evolve its enemies, those were human Godzilla hybrids. They probably would have had a queen bee mentality or a hive mind, meaning again Godzilla would have grown its own army
Godzilla is a Japanese franchise. Hollywood I guess has some rights to make their Americanized version ie: The Monsterverse. But you will always see Japanese Godzilla movies because it's their creation. Like Godzilla Minus One, which is fan-frickin-tastic. You can also compare it so Super Sentai (Japanese) vs Power Rangers (American)...
You should watch Shin Ultraman! it’s a part of the Shin Japan Heroes Universe (collab of big franchises). It released in 2022 and it has returning actors from Shin Godzilla. It’s also revolved around giant monsters and such.
Theres 2 voices representing godzilla. The high pitch voice just wants the pain to stop And the lower pitch voice thinks that by fighting and causing destruction theres a slight chance that the pain could stop
Fun fact: the scene at 46:25 was actually right after shin goji got shot in his back and then he fell asleep also this scene was removed from the movie because it’s way to gorey and creepy
if you like this, I HIGHLY recommend Shin Ultraman. You'd love it (also, the end scene was the tip of its tail. If you looked closley throughout the movie, it had a face on its tail ever since his 4th form. the next stage, 5th form is when a bunch of humanoid monsters sprout from its tail and go on land. kinda like zombies)
Hey don i saw u were confused at the end well. The part u saw was shin godzillas tail and he made like henchmen that are like a human figure and basically those human type creatures can literally end the world if he commands them to but he cant since they froze him the reason it never happened was cause they froze him beforw he was about to reach his 5th phase. :)
In that way he is more akin to cell Cell keeps evolving, buu doesn't, he temporarily absorbs others to mimick their capabilities Doesn't ''evolve'' Cell evolves
this fun fact is crazy:when ever shin dies he would be still alive bc the flesh of shin has a mind of its own and can regrow but he well have a different form his body well to live can make his corpes of remaining flesh or part is alive it would have eyes and can kill people to become more deform and shin lung is on pain and body the radiation is affecting him bc of how radiation he consume so every time he do atomic breath his troat just comprised the flame into a small hole it like the water cutter if a water is comprised so hard it can break diamond
I will say that this version is a great interpretation of the iconic King Of The Monsters, but that split lower jaw during the first atomic breath scene was honestly super creepy to me. It was like Godzilla had a love child with the Predator and a Graboid from the movie Tremors. I recommend watching the original Japanese Godzilla movies from 1954 to early 2002 to get a better sense of what makes Godzilla iconic, despite the English dubbing being supremely cheesy and the action in the 60s and 70s movies being corny as hell.
People who don't understand why people called him creepy Explanation:so behind the scenes people wear the shin Godzilla suit for the movies and he didn't take it off so went he wear the suit so long hes bone brokes and flesh he decided to take off the suit immediately thats why he creepy, also he not roaring he is screaming which he need help because all the time he wear the suit, the suit bleeding with a blood/blood boiling.
