When I first saw it, I had no idea they were related but I recognized the similarity. So I was Super confused thinking that it was actually a young Lorain and she broke her vows to marry Ed,lol. The little sister was great in American Horror Story as well.
@@amandaasbury3688 I remember seeing the trailer for the Nun, and i thought it was Vera Farmiga with de-aging CGI because i didnt know she had a sister that looked like her so much.
@@AnonymousSaiyan she plays in american horror story too. That's how I got to know Taissa. She is a very good actress and I loved it when I saw her in the trailer of the Nun
Honestly i dont really care about the lack of jump scares..im more into the lore and they delivered..i love both conjuring and insidious universe when it come to supernatural horror..my fav part of this movie is the marching Nuns..
Yes. We're here for good writing and themes. The lack of jump scares makes the Conjuring Universe different from your stereotypical horror. They go above and beyond the genre that keeps us attached to everything. 💙
Bruh every horror movie it'd way too much about jumpscares... Especially movies like this. When the story is so much better to bring in the watchers and viewers it's why I can't take movies seriously if they try to drag on an movie just by jumpscares.
As a fellow romanian that watches you I'll answer that many of the scenery or locations were really shot in Romania. It is still full of old villages, churches or castles 😁
Agreed I was taught by actual nuns a demon nun is nothing if you ever got detention from an Irish nun! Seriously one of them once chased me because she saw me talk to a boy!
You guys also forgot The Curse of La Llorona. It does take place in this universe. Another thing, it's The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is a very different genre of film.
@@markcruz359 Are you sure you watched that film? We are talking about the film in which Philip Seymour Hoffman ropes Ethan Hawke into robbing his parents' jewelry store? Before the Devil Knows You're Dead felt more like a crime thriller/drama.
I made the conection about Maurice at the beginning of the movie, probably because I'm a fellow french canadian. It's possible to find videos online of Maurice Thériault's exorcism, if anyone is curious. I wish they would cast french canadian actors to play french canadian roles. We have great actors and great talent behind the camera too (Denis Villeneuve, Jean-Marc Vallée, etc.) It's a shame they don't cast to play actual french canadian (like in this movie or in The Serpent on netlfix, the girl playing Marie-Andrée couldn't even speak french).
Back in the day, if people went into comas or had narcoleptic episodes that put them in periods of deep sleep, some countries mistook that as passing away in your sleep or just dropping dead. There have been cases where when a body was exhumed or dug up because a graveyard was being moved, the coffins would open, and there'd be fingernail marks on the inside of the lid. When this caught on, cemeteries started putting alarm systems in the graves, so that if anyone had been buried alive by accident, they'd ring the bell to signal, "Hey! I'm still alive! Get me out!"
Dude This film reminds me of two of Guilermo's Del Toro horror movies that I really like and really recommend: -The Devil's Backbone - Crimson Peak Del Toro is always a win. The man is not only a great visual artist, and a brilliant fantasy and horror writer, he loves to have fun, and want you to have fun too
the problem with this movie was the publicity, trying to convince everyone that is the most dark movie of the franchise, and obviusly it isn't. That way they let a lot of people down. But, the visuals are really good, the abbey is a real place, all the elements of history were well placed, so there is a few fings right, is not the best, and not the worst.
It’s funny how you kept asking them to leave, lol. If they left you wouldn’t get the movie 😂 Horror movie characters have to be stubborn, stumbling and dumb. And no matter how hard the demon is trying to kill them they never leave.
One theory is that the young novice nun could be related to Lorraine since they are sisters in real life. Since everything is connected in this universe it would be cool if it turns out to be true.
The visuals for this movie where amazing. Can you imagine these scences taking place in horror house in a theme park haha. No one would go in with all those faceless nuns or nuns with bloody bags on their heads. Haha
That's where the phrase "saved by the bell" and "graveyard shift" come from. The bell that could be rang if someone suspected to be dead awoke, and the person tasked with listening nearby that would bring help if any bell began to ring.
Its crazy because i watched The Nun today and it was MY first TIME! Haha so when i watched this vidoe and you guys were like mind blowned that frenchy was the guy from the first Conjuring, i was even shocked too! I didn’t even recognized him.
the phrase "saved by the bell" supposedly born cuz in the past nobody knows what catalepsy is, so someone can be buried alive, and then woke up so they could pull the rope and make noise with the bell and receive help and not die inside the coffin.
One of my biggest fears when it comes to horror movies is hanging... I remember when I first watched this movie and it started out with that I just hated ever having started up this movie. Second biggest fear is the dead returning to life, so this became a double heart attack real friggin' fast. I don't know if it's because I binged all of this, or if it's because I knew what was going to happen, but luckily it didn't phase me as much this time. I'll probably be seeing undead nuns in my sleep tonight though.
9:45 lol that's where the term "dead ringer" came from. Before examiners knew about fun things like a body bloats post mortem if not treated/stored properly and caused some bells to ring on their own, probably making a few grave keepers poo themselves. 😆
The Nun 2 is out in digital now. Can’t wait for your reaction. Let’s go on The conjuring universe journey!!! Hope 4 of you do the reaction together with Stella and Hailey.
This movie has some easter eggs, like the conjuring 2. If you notice at 7:41 the license plate says VALAK. And i noticed it the first time i watched it at the cinema, cause i knew they would do this, and if you go back to the conjuring 2 video at 13:51 you can see the letters on the shelf compose VALAK too.
I think the main idea of sister irene is because she is clairvoyant like Lorraine which goes to show that those two have to be related in some form. That's why it's quite interesting that sister Irene and Lorriane in real life are actually sister and they have a lot of similar features. Also, they have both tackles with the same demon and that comes into a factor. I was hoping that they explained that but this is my own theory.
SO many people missed the every last scene and explanation that links that scene to everything and it’s soenthing Lorainne talks about in her journal , it connects everything and makes this much scarier than people understood. There’s a reason Valek The Defiler plagued Loraine Warren all this time.
May I suggest an anime movie for a future reaction. This movie will really make you cry, or at the very least get you on the verge of crying. It's called "A Silent Voice"
But they established in previous movies that the first time lorean dealt with the nun was during that Frenchy scene where she saw a vision of Ed's death. That's why after that she locked herself away for a long time. Then while til conjuring two where she had to deal with nun and her visions
That guy if I'm not mistaken either went on to be in part of the conjuring or the character he's playing is someone the warrens have assisted with an exorcist on.
The Nun is chronologically the very beginning of the Conjuring Universe story; it goes The Nun, Annabelle Creation, Annabelle, Annabelle Comes Home, The Conjuring, The Curse of La Llorona (in which Annabelle is mentioned), The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It. The Nun and La Llorona were spin offs that were inserted into the franchise. There is also rumours of a few other spin offs being made but i don't know how true they are...some say they are doing one on the Crooked Man (first mentioned in Conjuring 2) and some say they might do one on The Ferryman (mentioned in Annabelle Comes Home).
Some suggestions for horror movies if you havent watched: Silent Hill, The strangers, Sinister, As Above So Below, The Ring, Lights Out, The House October Built are all ones I found interesting to watch.
Okay one, it's The Devil Made Me Do It, and two you also gotta watch La Llorona (it's my favorite out of the franchise). Oh, and in Annabelle Comes Homes, Judy is played by Young Theo from Hill House. And Young Shirley is in Annabelle Creation. (I can't remember her character's name though, since I only watched it once.
Honestly, in terms of storyline, the movie was amazing, but 100% a letdown (in terms of scare factor) as compared to the other movies in the conjuring universe.
It actually looked like a parody tbh. The Nun’s character was so awesome in Conjuring movies. They could have done it more realistically and subtly like the haunting of the hill house series. Nun’s backstory was also very dumb. I didn’t feel scared at all. I’m just glad I watched it on OTT. This wasn’t worth watching in theatre.
okay horror movies aren’t always jump scares, the story is what is scary, it’s not always going to have jump scares, that doesn’t make it scary, the story and the people in it or what they look like are scary.
@@brittanygidley1291 Yes, I'm perfectly aware that horror movies aren’t always jump scares. Hereditary is a perfect example of that. Tbh nuns terrify the fuck out of me, it's something from some of my personal experiences during my childhood. I'm not saying that the movie isn't scary because it has no jump scares, but imo I'm just saying that it could've been more. I understand if you still disagree, we have our own opinions lol.
There’s a reason they used Vera Farmingas (sp?) niece as the actress to play the main character who looks like a younger twin of Vera’s who ALSO has visions /clairvoyant , an age that works out to Loraine warrens actual age. I’m not going to get into it deeply casue it freaked me then hell out when I went down the rabbit hole of Valek, sn abbey that suffered horrific tragedy , etc etc etc,..but I will say thsi story isn’t random jsut like Valek the Defiler isn’t made up or random, so much of this is biblical and historic even involving ww2 events and on and on. So much scarier knowing this .
While I admit that this one, the first Annabelle and The Curse of La Llorona are the worst in the series they are still better than a lot of other horror movies out there. They still all have legit scary scenes that are actually frightening =)
You know what you both should do before and after you watch these just say a quick prayer and just ask God for protection. 'Cause, you're definitely gonna get a prayer from me!!!!
I think they chose her to investigate because she won’t be biased, the way she was acting towards the kids shows she’s not strictly religious I guess, that was my take on it! She’s young and would have unbiased opinions or they just wanted to get rid of her in the Convent 😂😂😂 x
in romania you have a city called Sighișoara and there the legend Vlad dracul was born dracula to be exact and there you still have fields with skewers wooden high skewers where people were literally skewered at that time those poles are still there srg special the The city of Sighișoara is a beautiful city with a lot of tourism
Fun fact , I'm prob speaking too soon but she looks like the woman from the other movies cause it's her daughter in real life ....most ppl don't know that but I'm sure y'all do ....
I think Lorain and Irene are sisters or close relative becouse they both have similar vissions and the reason I think that Irene and Lorain aren't the same person becouse Irene is a nun and she cannot get married or have a child
