Thanks for the advice in the video. I firstly just restarted my Firestick Max by holding the play button and select button simultaneously for 5 seconds and it fixed the remote issues I was having. Volume and power buttons weren’t working.

My remote just randomly stopped working. Worked one min, 10 mins later not even the light comes on when resetting it. Not sure Wtf happen. Changed batteries, tried resetting, unplugged stick, etc. But now I’m just using the app to control it

didnt use my fire tv stick for some time and i think my remote is completly broken .. nothing in this video helped to make it work again BUT(!!!) my TV remote works with the stick and i didnt even know that this HDMI CEC even existed .. so thanks for that. at least i can use the firetv stick even tho the remote is done for some reason

Gota love your videos thanks for keeping everyone updated. I do have a question about adding a vpn to my Firestick. I already have a subscription to NordVPN So I was just trying to see how to install it and make sure the settings are correct on it or if I just down loaded it from the downloaded and it will stay in the right mode to allow and block the right stuff. So basically if I have made changes to it through my subscription I don’t want it not to work if I just down load it to Firestick and log into my account will it give it the wrong choices for the Firestick. I use it for my laptop and iPads but might need different settings for the Firestick Sorry just don’t want to put on a vpn that does not work properly on a Firestick because I changed settings for my computer. I hope you understood all of that Just want to do it right Thank you in advance for all of your help

My remote is fried after 2.5 years. Had to rely on the phone app method. Thank you for the idea. The 4 digits that it prompts you to enter did not display on my tv until the screensaver turned on so that was a bit of a blocker.

Tried a couple others but didn't help. Then your video popped up and i knew if you couldn't help me i was gonna just buy a new stick😊 but number 2 worked. Strsnge thing is after i did it then my other firestck remote stopped working...😮 now i gotta figure that out🤷‍♂️😊

Another informative video thanks, i have two 2nd gen fire tv boxes that both work well (one box is a spare) but only one remote, part number DR49WK, which is getting old and i want to replace it before it breaks, i have bought two new, apparently genuine, Amazon remotes with the same part number and neither will pair with the box, new batteries, tried searching for the remotes etc and everything else i can find to do, the original remote has no problem pairing if i remove its batteries etc, if you get a chance could you recommend anything else or a remote that would work please? I had an issue with my Firestick where it wouldn't fully boot and no remote. I tried all four of these methods and they didn't work. I couldn't even access anything since i deregistered the device for a factory reset. I did fix it though, here's how.... I put an OTG cable on and plugged in a USB keyboard. After the main boot screen I held down the ESC key and right arrow key for 10-30 seconds. After that it went into the automatic factory reset mode and i was able to get the firestick and the remote working again. Just figured I would share this with you.

I got mine to work - I switched off all other Bluetooth on devices and took batteries out off all other remotes - did the 3 button reset

I have installed a firestick 4k max on to a hdmi input port on an ASUS vp278qgl MONITOR with speakers but the off on control does not work nor does the volume control during installation and beyond. Setup does not mention ASUS monitors when it comes to TV control setup. Is there a work around to turn it off. like generic tv

My remote (3rd generation) had been working good after replacing it from one TV to another. Then after a bit it didn't turn on or off the TV. It would work through all the different apps and channels. I contacted Amazon they walk me through some steps but nothing worked. They recommended a new remote which I paid for but Amazon will reimburse me. Stay tuned I'll be receiving the remote soon.

Is there a setting anywhere to disable bluetooth connection to remotes? Last week my remote wasn't working so I figured the batteries died. Changed them to no avail. Went through every step and ended up reseting the remote. I can use the iphone app to get to the Add New Remote screen, and it does SEE the unpaired remote, and says to press Select to pair the "old" remote, but no matter how many times I press it or how long I hold it, it doesn't get the signal. So I thought maybe the remote went bad. I am now sitting here with 3 fully. reset remotes from 3 different firesticks, all showing up in the Add New Remote screen, but none of them actually pair when I press Select. I don't understand how the FireTV sees that they are there (and I tested this by taking the batteries back out and watching it disappear from the tv screen), but will not detect when I'm holding the select button as instructed. At literally 1 inch to 7 feet away. I should also say that when I unplugged the power to the FireStick the first time, I had to completely enter my wifi information, log back into my account, and re-register this FireTV (that I've had for years) with my account, which I thought was bizarre. It works fine from the App now, but will not pair with any firestick remote. UPDATE: I'll leave this here in case anyone has a similar problem. I just ended up doing a full factory reset and it paired with the original remote IMMEDIATELY on first start up.

I just replaced two Firestick 4k with 4k Max sticks. Now both all set up, remotes work fine on stick and on TV for on and off and volume for about a minute. Then it looses volume and power on and off. The old 4k sticks had no issue. I have tried everything and am lost. The two tv's are a Samsung and Hisense. I tried it on my LG and no issues, they both work fine.

Didn't work for me. When I pressed the home button after plugging it back in and reinserting the (new) batteries, the light didn't flash blue, it flashed red. The flashes were slow at first and then fast and took well over a minute to stop. And mine is several years old, so no warranty. Though now that I watch again, I see you unplugged the firestick from the power bar and removed the other plug from the side of the firestick. I only unplugged from the power bar. Not sure if that makes a difference. Can't try again just now as my kids are watching (discovered our tv remote works with it) but I will try again later when they are done. Edit: tried again, no luck. Remote settings are telling me the batteries are dead even though I took them out of a new packet.

I tried the first 2 methods carefully as described and shown, but still no luck. My remote still shows "battery offline", but when I press the mic button, it goes on and with the press of any other button it goes offline again.

Mine has been broken and they told me I had to buy one at my cost, and then they would refund me the amount I paid.
