Today I diagnosed and repaired a lawnmower that wouldn’t stay running. After cleaning out the carburetor it runs great! I should be able to make a decent profit since I only paid $12. Click subscribe for more videos and thanks for watching!

With these carbs, the main problem is with the main jet. The Federal government wanted it to be fuel efficient so the hole in the main jet is very small ( less than .015")to make sure it is fuel efficient. You need to drill out the main jet to .021"-22" because if you do not it will clog up again and again. You also need to add a fuel filter and a fuel shut off (so you can run the carb dry before putting it up for the winter). All of the replacement carbs have the same very small hole in the main jet, so now you know.

Just fixed my Toro lawnmower with a B&S engine in 30 minutes after watching your video! Runs like new and starts on first pull! I think I grew 2” (taller) after this fix! Thank you!

Yeah a lot of the new mower are running them these days. The only other plastic carb I’ve seen is the old Thermoquads that Chrysler ran with the plastic bowls

@@OkemonPlays-ux5vm Pull that carb off and clean out the jet it’s probably clogged. Also make sure your float works. Do you smell gas when you try to start it?

@@OkemonPlays-ux5vm you could fix that with a little bit of epoxy on the outside just make sure the tank in empty and the area is clean and dry. Do you see it coming out of a hole? Make sure it isn’t leaking from the carburetor and running along the fuel line and dripping off the tank. That could be the cause of both the starting issue as well as leaking fuel.

I have the same one, but it won't start like I can't pull the string. What could be the problem?

The brake cable broken, blade has rope around it , engine has no oil, spring coil broken in cover Start checking stuff

I agree with @philliphall5198. Check to make sure the brake is actually lifting off the flywheel. Another thing you can do is pull the spark plug out and make sure your engine isn’t full of water or gas. If it’s full of gas your carburetor needs to be rebuilt.
