Fixing Jammed Door Latch Honda Fit (Internal Mechanism Stuck) Advanced Video 

Man, I felt so bad for you. Seems no one these days is any good at helping get a guy out of a jam professional or not. You didn't give up and figured it out on your own. Cu do's to you!

The driver door in my '09 Fit was stuck locked. Nothing worked. Thanks to you video I figured out where to drill the hole. I did not have to cut the window track, just unscrew it and move it out of the way. I have a small drill that fit into the door opening, drilled the hole just below the screw and using a thick wire was able to able to unlock it. Actually, removing the old latch assembly took longer than getting the door unlocked. I did end up buying a whole new latch assembly, part number 72150-TK6-A02. It was not cheap!!! Still saved several hundred $$$ compared to the dealership.

I live in Japan and drive a 2005 Honda Stepwagon. Yesterday, drivers door (RH) just stopped working. I could hear the lock solenoid try to work but no matter what it would not unlock and the door would not open. No shop would even touch it. I watches several videos, read blogs, asked around but just could not figure this out. Fast forward to this video. I watched it a few times and decided to give it a shot as the lock mechanisms are very similar. Got a long drill bit to avoid cutting the window track, drilled the hole, got a coat hanger and wiggled it in the hole and bam! The door opened right up. Then I closed it by mistake but the coat hanger quickly opened it again. Upon inspection, I found that there was a broken spring in the lock mechanism jamming everything up. I pulled the spring out and some of the internals to make it a manual lock so I could use the car while I find the parts. The rest of the power locks still work fine. You sir are my internet hero for today! I just used nearly the exact procedure to open the drivers door on my daughters 2010 Honda insight. The actuator assembly was basically identical to what you showed in the video. I was able to get the door open and remove the actuator. I spent 3 hours scratching my head before I found your video. I gutted out the locking part of the actuator so that it cant freeze up again and at least got the car drivable until amazon brings me a new one next week. Once again thanks so much for your help!!!

I made the exact same mistake on my CRV. I figured this is what I would have to do. Glad it worked out for you and will try it myself.

Did you take the actuator from the stuck door apart? Because I’m having the same problem but I never took the actuator apart and I ain’t drilling holes on this one (customer car).

I have a similar problem with my CRV 2007. It stopped working the actuator manually or with the remote... from inside and outside... the lock button from inside is stuck on the closed position (drivers door). Which lever should I move to remove the lock so I can open the door? Thanks in advance. Best regards.

For the love of God just smash the lock 🔐. Once the plastic cover breaks off and motor fall out it will open the door. Do not do what this guy has done .

Wtf why would you cut the arch out.just smash the plastic off the latch lock.done so many times.take 2 mins.

Just smash the door lock .then manually open it.

Its does not work anyway.
