That’s an interesting swap, these cars have different bcms from year to year so idk if the bcm would talk to the new ecu, u might want to try and get the bcm and the keys, ignition etc from ur de car as well

I was scared of that too, when you put in a new bcm the steering lock no longer recognizes the key so it won’t unlock. When u use the software and put in the code to program the bcm it unlocks the ignition so you can program the keys

If it dosent unlock at that point you might have a bad ignition lock

That method doesn’t work on keyless start cars

You would need the next version of the the data scan software for the cars that have push to start, the process is similar though

ur bcm or ecm depends on your problems

Bcm shouldn’t have anything to do with your engine functions that’s controlled by your ecu. You need the next version of this software for the G37

With these cables you have to go to the windows settings and see which com it is it can be com1-2-3 or 4. Then you go in the app setting and change it to that for the app to communicate properly

I did, sometimes u get lucky and it’s the correct one, I had to go manually change mine

yeah pretty much follow the process in the video and you should be good! id suggest making sure your ECU is also in good health. Goodluck!

You can use the software on different cars. You just pay for it once

It should be the same process, but the cars with push to start use data scan 3 I believe.

No your right, it’s a generic cable, I was skeptical at first too but that’s the same cable they use for that software

Yes you need windows for the software to work.

The nats won't disable the fuel pump or starter, It does disable injector pulse.

From back when I was researching my issue, everyone on the forums told me that if the fans are on like that it means your ECU is bad. You can send yours to get rebuilt or get another one but it has to be programmed to ur VIN.

My fans stay on too but my car cranks but won’t start the security light also is on any ideas?

@@jizzyboi9211 I had the same issue. I changed the IPDM but no luck but later found out why Unfortunately my circuit relay blew out first so when my ECM fuse blew everything else did too going all the way back. I ended up taking it to my mechanic & Infiniti. No scanner would pick up signal because everything going back got fried. They recommended I change out everything in order to hopefully get signal including harnesses in order to reprogram everything. In your case I would start with checking fuses first on your IPDM. If no luck then you have to work backwards like how I did. Hopefully yours isn’t like mine !

If your IPDM has corrosion then I would swap out the IPDM !

If they can’t communicate with the bcm chances are your experiencing the same thing I did. I can’t say for sure but there’s a high chance that following the steps I showed will solve your problem

@@seizethespeed thanks for the response I really appreciate it!, btw does any obd2 scanner to usb work, and also I can still connect my regular scanner to see the codes. And lastly how do I know if it’s that bcm that’s not being able to communicate to, thanks again!

@@yousefabujumaiza2267 I’m not sure but the one I used was mentioned in the softwares website that’s why I used it. Also for me it was the fact that everytime we tried to reprogram my keys no device could communicate with the bcm so that’s how I knew. U can see this in the video too where the first time I try it with the old bcm and no luck then I swap to the new one and it lets me program it.

Yeah I have windows 10, 40 is just the software. You pay and they email you the key. Then download the software from the datascan website. The OBD Cable I bought from Amazon since it was cheaper

your good, someone with an older fx directed me to this so I know it worked for their car. If you have the push to start button you might need the next gen data scan like G37/ 370z.

From what I’ve heard, the ecus on these cars need to also be programmed when u go from one car to another. There’s places online you send it to. That might be a good place to start

I’ve heard that on the cars without keyless start, you can do something to reset the system or bypass the security and then it’ll start for the next couple times he might be doing that. The issue is still somewhere within the immobilizer. In this case it could be the chip inside ur key. I’d say try getting a new key programmed to the car first and see if that fixes it. Probably the cheapest first step.

I think about 120 for a used one from eBay plus what I paid for the software and the wire to program the new bcm, the link to that stuff is in the bio.

That’s what happened to me, I got my engine swap after locking up my last motor…. But the car wouldn’t start. I still two ecm’s im assuming my stock one and one from the donor engine. Brought it to the dealer to get the key program but they couldn’t, said I needed to replace the wiring harness I think that was some BS tho…

You can get ecu/bcm/ignition combos on eBay and try that
