Flasher LED Upgrade 1997 - 2002 Expedition, 1997 - 2003 F-150, & Navigator

This video shows how to replace the flasher module on 1997 - 2002 Expeditions and 1997 - 2003 F150's. After installing LED turn signals you may experience a fast blink due to the decreased load in the circuit. I purchased an LED blinker from a local auto parts store for $15 that resolved the issue. Check put my other videos on the LED conversion.

I owe a great big Thank you. The two little screws holding the flasher box, I did not know about. Had some struggles anyway. Got it done..Thank you --I hope somebody took the design engineer out behind the shed and gave an education.

I agree with the engineer statement. I need to change the lower "dog bone" engine mounts on my Fusion Sport. The bolts are put in from the same side as the exhaust so I may have to pull the exhaust to get them out. If the nuts had been on that side with the bolts coming in from the other side, it would be a 10 minute job.

Pro tip: No disassembly is required. Just use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry the locking tab up from underneath, then slide the whole flasher/heater relay panel up and off the bracket. Takes less than a minute.

Thanks! I had a difficult time even finding it. Back in the olden days they were on or near the fuse box. I miss the simplicity of the muscle car era cars, but I do like the technology of the modern era.

It was helpful, I'm not an expert on this topic but the video was very clear about how to do it. I got it done today's morning due to the new LED blinker I put in my truck they started hyper flashing and getting stuck no longer flashing just plain lightning, so I bought a relay that's LED ready hoping that that was the problem, and it works great. I'm happy, thanks!

All your videos are great! Keep it up. I think doing a side mirror swap for 97-02 to 03+ expys navis and f150s would be a neat video.

Thank you Jonathan! I have several videos in the pipeline to be created and will look into your suggestion. I had a 2005 F-150 back in 2005 and always liked those mirrors. That would be a nice upgrade.

I'm having problems with mine, I replaced all lights but headlights with led, got the led flasher relay. When trucks running I have NO front signal at all and it buzzing...

I was able to change flashers without removing anything. It took me 5 minutes the first time and 20 seconds every other time after that.

I did that, and my left and right turn signals worked just like yours demonstrated. But when I turned on my hazards, they all just quit. Only when I reinstalled the original blue one did my hazards work again. But still with the fast clicking on turn signals. Did you have that trouble with your hazards?

No, my hazards work fine. Maybe a ground issue somewhere????

what about a LED swap for the headlamp hvac controls and the door switches?

I would like to do that possibly in the future, but those are not as easy as the cluster, headlights, etc, but they can be done.

😏 all you have to do is stick your hand up under the dashboard. I feel for it and pull it down cause I did it and I didn’t have to do all of that. It took me less than 10 minutes….
